  1. No, I didn't upgrade the battery just went with the recommended one from the Interstate website for my 2018 Edge 3.5L. Thanks. Just wanted to be sure.
  2. I put in the recommended battery from Interstate. Besides resetting the BMS is there any other changes I need to make? Thanks. https://costco.interstatebatteries.com/results?key=auto&Program=100500&ZipCode=75254&l=75254&Country=United States&year=2338750&make=2339667&model=2339683&engine=2339689&option=2339690 Your Battery Information Item Number 1700454 Group Size 90 (T5) CCA 600 CA 750 Voltage 12 Ah 56 Length 9 1/2 Width 6 7/8 Height 6 3/4 Weight 32.1 Termination Code TOP Wet/Dry W
  3. Perfect. So the new tire is on the same rear axle as a tire that's just been riding around not used for much braking or acceleration. It's just like a new tire. Those tires will be moved to the front in the rotation. Thanks
  4. Pretty sure my rear axle doesn't disengage at cruise speeds. That feature was added to 2020 and later AWD models. Starting tomorrow I'll be rotating my tires twice a year with each oil change.
  5. Wow 2/32 -3/32 isn't much. This is my first AWD car. Drove 100 miles today, no issues no messages drove great. I'm not seeing in the owners manual where it says how many miles between tire rotations. When I bought the tires they recommended about 6000 miles. I'm way past that and should've been watching it. This means my front tires are worn as they do most of the stopping. When I get them rotated this would put the new tire up front. So I think I'm ok with a tire rotation. Fingers crossed. Thanks.
  6. I also got this recall for my 2018 Edge with 3.5L V6. The car just passed emissions test fine, I have no lights or issues and am reluctant to take it in.
  7. My rear driver side tire picked up a screw and started leaking. Screw was to close too sidewall for repair and had to be replaced. All four tires were 80,000 mile tires with only 11,000 miles on them. Tires haven't been rotated. Tire shop replaced the tire with exact same tire brand and tread under road hazard warranty. Asked if it was ok as this being an AWD, they said it was because there wasn't a lot of miles on them. Is this ok? Should I get the tires rotated? That would put the new tire up on the front passenger side. Thanks
  8. Obtained digital battery tester a month ago. The attached image is what showed 28 days ago. Followed the "recharge" suggestion from the meter and then retested everything seemed fine. Drove it out to the field, about 45 minute drive from my house without issue. Visited with friends for 6 hours. Edge wouldn't start, click click click. Used my jump starter, started up and drove home. During the drive home auto dimming message came on and dimmed my instrument lights. Could hardly read the speedometer. Next morning voltage on the battery was 12.5 and tester now showed "BAD" not "REPLACE" but "BAD", really! well there was no way I wasn't going to replace it! Did so and reset BMS.
  9. Hi, was the problem found and fixed? I have a 2018 similar Edge. thanks
  10. Is there a terminal I can clip a 12 volt power source on and maintain the vehicle's memory? Can I use the cigar lighter socket? If I attach a 12 volt power source to the cigar lighter socket while disconnecting the battery will that maintain the vehicle's memory? Thanks
  11. My 2018 Titanium came with a nice paper copy in the glove box. No idea when they stopped doing it.
  12. Yeah, that's what I figured. Wasn't sure if it prevented power from going in or just turned off for power coming out. I'll have to use the aligator clips and go to the battery and ground under the hood. Thanks
  13. Purchased a Solar powered battery maintainer to maintain my battery while my 2018 Edge is parked in the parking lot. It came with a cigarette lighter plug adaptor or aligator clips to directly connect to the battery. I will ground the charger to the vehicle not the negitive battery post. Would like to use the cigarette lighter plug for the convenience, but will it work? Or is this a bad idea? Thanks.
  14. Thanks for the replies. It was way to hard to use my fingers, so I tried pliers. That's when it looked like it may break off! Now have the radiator petcock socket tool for next attempt. I have four, one gallon jugs of motorcraft premix yelloe coolant. That's what I'll be filling with. Compressed air sounds like a good idea, I'll try that to get more of the old coolant out.
  15. It doesn't seem to turn past 1/4 turn and I'm afraid to break it.
  16. Sorry for the stupid questions, but I haven't done this before. How many turns of the drain vailve to the left do I need to make? Is it 1/4 turn, 1/2 turn? a full tuen? Thanks
  17. Hello I've removed the filler cap and opened the drain valve, but the coolant is not draining out. Any suggestions? Thanks Picture uploads are not working.
  18. Is the drain on the drivers side a 19mm plug? Planning just opening up, draining and filling with motorcraft pre-dilluted. Is this what others have done? Thanks
  19. I'm planning on using the H6 730cca battery from Costco as above in my 2018 Edge. Not sure what option to set for this in forscan? The OEM battery is show as a Varta 60Ah 520CCA H5 Case as in the attached picture. Thanks for any help.
  20. Nice to hear the reset of the BMS in the video worked for you. That's the method I'll probable be using. So you didn't need or use forscan when you changed your battery? Thanks
  21. Received advertisement from my dealer for the "Fast Lane" motorcrafter battery replacement for $149.95 plus taxes and installation. Haven't called yet, but thinking this wouldn't fit my Edge? Installation? $100? Tempting
