Brilliant, thanks. Curious, did you have to raise the car, or were you able to get it while laying on the ground?

Probably didn't need to raise the rear wheels to clear, but I backed it up on the lip of my garage entrance to get me a little more room to work with, probably a couple of inches.  The biggest thing is that the screw on the top, you will not be able to see it, you will have to feel for it.  I actually took video with my phone of the top of it to make sure what I was trying to find.

From a colour match perspective, this looks NICE!

And, during the install of the plastidip did you remove the exhaust tips, or simply put paper/plastic around it all?

I actually removed them.  There is one screw on the top that is a little difficult to get to, but worth the effort to not have to mask the bumper off.

The Veritek lug nuts scuff way too easily. I used them from January until yesterday, when I removed them. I switched to McGard lugs, although those are 4x the price. I can't comment on how they will hold up yet, but the finish on them looks much more durable.

I would agree, that I have been a little disappointed with the scuffing and subsequent rust marks.  I'll be interested to hear what you think about the McGard, I found them to be too thin and there was a visible chrome ring around that showed.  The Veriteks were the only ones with a wide enough base to completely cover that ring, that's why I went with them.  And I tried McGard, Gorilla, and a couple others.

But does it fit over the big brakes?  That’s most likely why it isn’t included.

Fits just fine, no rubs, no interference at all.  In fact, if you look under the tray that holds the inflation kit, you'll find a nice well that the spare tire fits right in.

And as for not included, my guess is a weight savings issue more than anything.

  5. Welcome the forum.  I have a 2019 ST with the brake package, and mine didn't come with a spare.  HOWEVER, after waiting a week for a replacement tire back in September and realizing what a joke the slime inflation system would be in a real emergency, I did some research and found that the standard Edge spare does in fact fit, and fits very nicely in the spot below the cover in the rear (almost like it belongs there).  I bought the spare from ebay for about $80 shipped.  My point is don't let the lack of a spare dissuade you from your purchase, it is a pretty easy thing to correct.

Which wheel nuts in particular? Do you have a link to them?

I have been thinking about the Gorilla ones...

These are the ones I found  -   :)

So what mods specifically have you done to the ST?

Not many - JLT Catch Can, black lug nuts, autostop eliminator, 5% tint on the back doors and tailgate.  Strictly cosmetic mods or things I like  :)

If the pressure in the PCV system is exceeding 25 psi you would be having serious issues. I think it was more of a "lowest cost hose available" problem.

Correct, its not related to the pressure rating, but rather the type of hose which is designed to have a high permeation rate.

    Thanks for the info/corrections guys!

They should recall all the previously shipped hoses from the same batch, even if the customer did not complain.

The issue seems to be more with the type of hoses. The original hoses that came with my JLT that I ordered in August 2019 had 25 psi written on them.  My new ones have 35psi written on them.  So I don't think it was a bad batch of hoses, I just think that 25psi hoses can leak from pressure that is more than they can handle.  And my gas odor didn't start until late Dec 2020.  I replaced the hoses about 3 weeks ago and have not had the return of the smell.

Its been long enough for me to declare success - been no nasty odor in my garage since installing the new hoses.

Had mine on for a week now, and remain cautiously optimistic that this solved the problem, as I haven’t had the smell either.

Yes, I don't like the idea of  using the 18" emergency spare, and taking another look at it this evening I decided that I'm going to keep one of those Puncture Plug kits, and a small 12v compressor that I already have, in the ample space in the area where the existing spare is kept.

I have had one of those in my Edge since I brought it home. :)

There I was all these years assuming that I had a 21" spare wheel in the trunk, and as others have pointed out its an 18".

The OD is significantly smaller than the 21" wheels, so if I was to use it I'll limit the speed and distance to avoid damage to the differential.

Exactly about the difference in the OD, just driving around the neighborhood to make sure no issues with rubbing etc, and it was pretty wild on the front.  I think in a really bad situation, I would make sure that it was only on the back.  (And thanks for edit!!)

  13. I have a 2019 ST with the 21” and brake package.  I bought a spare tire off of eBay that works perfectly.  The actual listing says that it is for the Edge.  Fits in the well and works on the fronts just fine.  I am having issues linking to the actual item but look up seller blacklabtire1 on eBay. It was about $150 shipped and came in less than a week.
