  2. ya book says semi synthetic but heard was better with full syn
  3. have 19 edge sel 15,000 been getting oil changes every 5000 miles first time used synthetic at 10,000 they put in semi blend but from now on want to put in full synthetic whats the difference in using full synthetic then semi blend if im still changing oil every 5,000 miles? i was told only to use full synthetic whats wrong with the semi blend ?
  4. i dont know if you feel the same but when mine di that it felt like i was slipping on wet ground after accelerating from a stop but got worse after 1000 miles and wouldnt accelerate at all in morning took it in found a trans leak though nothing was no ground. my problem was solved
  5. i asked guy why there were no leaks to tell where it was leakin he said it could of been blowby which it was goin somewhere else just took it on a trip out of state drives like when i bought it. it would buck at first then as i kept driving it in morning the most i would try to drive and no power couldnt go anywhere then would kick in after like 5 min but it got worse every morning so i took it in
  6. i had this problem with my 19 edge no power in morning bucking when accelerating turned out i had trans leak only after 10,000 miles dealer fixed the leak no more problems
  7. is the ford motorcraft good quality cause they do my changes
  8. i know semi is ok for the edge but just tryin to not have carbon buildup if i can help it.just a peace of mind i guess. and for the catch can im split . i will also stick to my 5000 mile intervals
  9. i know this post is old but i bought a 19 edge 9 mon ago and other day i lost power in trans and turned out had trans leak somewhere wasnt on ground either so you cant say you will see it cause i didnt
  10. turns out i had a trans leak somehow at press port only 10,000 refilled and torqued now drives like when i bought it. it was bucking and loss of acceleration
  11. i dont think 2.0 have em either if you look up 2.0 it shows direct injection
  12. i do oil change every 5000 miles with the motorcraft they put semi in but i will be going back to full synthetic so hopefully doing it every 5000 will help
  13. so basically for the edge to prevent carbon buildup do oil change every 5000 miles with full synthetic or a catch can and hope for the best.
  14. ok well looks like a catch can maybe i wont use a ravioi can
  15. shoot was hopin it wasnt a problem anymore with the edge now a catch can wont help prevent carbon buildup right? that just filters out all the junk oil right is there anything you can do on the 2.0 ecoboost that can prevent carbon buildup?
  16. ah ok so does the edge engine have the carbon buildup or was it just the f150 that was having the problem
  17. i heard ford fixed the problem for 2017 and newer so you wont need a catch can anymore
  18. ah ok is it just a can or is it a whole kit i seen kits for like $300 or so. can i just use like a raviolli can
  19. ya i get ya but i dont pay anything right now been using ford points for last 2 changes but eventually i will have to they charge about $60 for the full syn change which isnt bad
  20. yup thats the reason i want to do it every 5000, they did motorcraft semi this time but i will be switchin back to full syn i think, i dont have catch can though as it is under warranty for another 2 years .my oil life was at 44% when i hit 5000 miles
  21. my dealer recommended every 6000 but im being a lil cautious if i wait for the oil life monitor it will be like 10,000 miles dont wanna wait that long
  22. ya i hear ya people say you dont need to change it until like 7500 miles but with the turbo i dont want carbon buildup so tryin to change it as early as i can
