I totally disagree. I bought my 21 and 24 (traded in) with the Performance Brake and Tire Package. Best choice you could make. After all it's an ST, not an ST Line. Why cut the car short on performance and handling just to save a few bucks. I do understand if you live in colder climates this might not be an option, but it really allows the vehicle to perform like a TRU ST. And it adds an awesome performance look!
That being said, it sounds like the dealer is trying to make a few bucks. I drove my 21 pretty hard (at times) and took advantage of the tires and brakes on some good twisting winding roads to enjoy it for those exact reasons. When I traded it in at 12k, the tires showed some wear, but were still at 75%, brakes were fine. Both vehicles do not (and never have) squealed when stopping at a light. That is a bunch of dealer BS. They don't want to deal with it and are lying to you.
You like the look of the vehicle and sounds like you drive relatively passively, you should have not had to replace those items so soon.
Regarding all tires have to be the same or they will mess up the all-wheel drive, that only means they all need to be the same size. Brand is your choice.
The battery should have lasted longer, but sometimes they fail early. Under warranty, your advantage.
You do have to be careful nowadays as there are a lot of dealers who are crooked and will try to take advantage. At the same time there are some good ones too and hopefully a lot more than the bad ones.
You are doing the right thing by asking questions

My 2021 Edge ST came with no hood insulator. I could tell it should be there, so I paid 127 dollars and installed it myself. Recently traded in my 2021 for a 2024.
First thing I did was transferred my hood insulator to my 2024 and the center console try too. Shame on Ford!

There is a pretty cool YouTube video, I think it is called 2019 Ford Edge St-top 10 things you need to know. It is by -The Fast Lane Car.
It shows the difference between the Ford edge ST and the regular edge. There are a lot a differences in the suspension.
It is a whole different animal than all other Edges (including the Edge Sport). Watch the video and it will give you some insight on how to possibly stiffen things up.

I have mine set on the highest sensitivity setting. I would rather have it be a bit over reactive than under reactive. Keeps me alert and reminds me to be not so complaisant. It might not be a perfect system, but one day it might save my ass!

I don't understand why the PTU and RDU aren't listed as routine service items in the owner's manual. How can any car manufacturer expect any fluid to last the life of the vehicle. Seem like all the PTU failures I've heard about are because of fluid that has never been changed.
Also heard stories about Ford Dealerships that didn't even know about the PTU or RDU service!
Thanks for the update! Looks like I might have to do those fluid changes myself one day, I don't know if My Ford Dealership is capable.🙃

I waited to buy my 2021 for the 12-inch touchscreen specifically. Glad I did it, especially when you are using the navigation screen. The detail is amazing in 3D. I do wish you had more physical knobs as a backup for the climate control. It really looks nice once you get used to it. Sync 4 is a big advance over Sync 3 for sure.

I have a 24 as well. My seat does not make any noise like you explained. Sit in the passenger seat and get a 'sound reference' so you can compare. Has this been there since new? Maybe use a flashlight and do a good visual inspection to see if there is anything causing this??

It sucks that one mile or one day out of warranty they can deny a claim. Whatever happened to good will? I think Ford is so overwhelmed with recalls and warranty claims that they are maxed out big time.

i am curious to know what glare-free highbeam is? I have auto highbeam on my 2024 St but haven't played with it enough to see if I would use it.That's a big problem with the newest cars/SUV's etc. There are a lot of cool options. But at the end of the day-are you better to go back to the 'old school' method of manually controlling the high beams yourself.

I think from 21 on you are ok. But you may have a small leak somewhere as I don't think you should have to add coolant, even though it is a very small amount. Sounds like you are still under warranty, I would definitely take it to the dealer with your concerns. Even if nothing ever comes out of it, you will have documentation showing there may have been an issue while it was under the warranty period. Most likely nothing to worry about, but cover your bases.
Ford seems to be very good a blowing us off for the small things. Almost like unless it is major they don't want to deal with it.

Sounds like you are on the right track, clear the codes and change the fluid. That could very well fix the issue. Definitely keep us posted.

So, the only option would be to do a master reset, turn off all connected services and leave your phone at home? 👁️🗨️
Or just not worry about it 😂

Be glad you don't have it. Half the time it doesn't open or close when you want it to. Trust me, you are not missing out. Double clicking the FOB or pushing the button is as easy as it gets.

Yes, a good idea. I had a 2021 with the 12 inch display and noticed (in direct sunlight) tiny scratches and dull spots. I bought a 2 pack on Amazon and put one on. Made my screen look brand new! The one I ordered was made by LUWU and it came with 2 screen protectors.

I guess in a nutshell did she buy the car from an authorized Ford dealership? If not, she might be on her own. Horrible to see an American car fail and get no backing from the manufacturer.

What a shit deal. Sounds like a design flaw to me. They are just hoping it goes out of warranty before the failure happens.

I don't have an explanation, but on my 2021 St, it had the 401A and performance brake and tire package. It did have the heated steering wheel. In 2021 the Edge came with the new 12" touchscreen, so it is different than the 2020. Make a post to the Ford Edge Forum, you will get a lot more info.

I'm going to be so far of base, only because I am guessing. But if at any time the Evap Canister got saturated by fuel, (topping off, stuck solenoid, failure etc) it could cause the symptoms you mentioned. Being that it only happens when you fill up, could the canister be an issue????

I purchased the Ford extended warranty and one of the items that is not covered, the Flywheel Ring Gear. Red flag to me.
If it saves you money on fuel that is definitely a plus, although at idle there is hardly any fuel being used. I just can't imagine that over time, the mechanical wear and tear would override the fuel savings.
I read the system was forced on the automobile industry by the Federal Government to help with emissions and save on fuel consumption. Combine that with the erratic shutting off/starting of the vehicle (remember the transmission is still in gear) I'm just so glad we have the option to deactivate it on start-up. Especially in warm weather. Gotta be a bit taxing on the AC system?? Thanks for all the different opinions on this. Please correct me if I am wrong on any of this.

I think auto start stop is nothing more than a way to prematurely wear out your battery, starter and flywheel ring gear. You don't save any fuel and it is nothing more than a scam. Be glad it does not work. In the end, you will save money.

Also try double clicking the ESC button twice to put the Advancetrac into sport mode. Kind of a hidden gem of the Edge St that is not in the owner's manual.
I live in warm weather (So Cal), and I got the optional performance brake and wheel package. The 21" Pirelli PZeros are like glue! My 2019 Fiesta ST handled like a go cart! But the Edge St is a performance beast for sure!

Does it happen when the engine is not running, when power is on (in accessory mode)? I guessing something related to climate control system.

Yes, Thank you for all the great information.
One thing I don't quite understand, Ford recommends using their brand of Semi Synthetic oil. I know they want to sell product, but why wouldn't they recommend full synthetic. I asked the dealer and they said it is what ford recommends. Seems like with a twin turbo high rpm application, full synthetic would be the way to go??

One thing that is kind of funny, by removing the EDGE badge a lot of people don't know what it is. Kind of mystery vehicle, had a guy walk up to me and ask what is that? I Jokingly told him it was a FORD ST. Special high performance! We had a good laugh.
I would never remove the ST badge, proud to have it!
One thing I see that I don't quite understand people blacking out the FORD blue oval. Not sure why people like doing it, looks funny to me.
Guess it all boils down to personal preference.
2022 ST Brakes, Tires, Rotors & Battery went bad (Lease)

The available ST Performance Brake Package includes 21-inch premium gloss black-painted aluminum wheels, front and rear vented disc brakes, unique front rotors, Colorado Red-painted brake calipers, brushless radiator cooling fan, performance brake pads, summer-only tires and vented brake shields.
Got this from the Ford website. They aren't Brembo.
One thing I could never figure out is the Brushless Radiator Fan. Why would they use this?
