  1. He's not that smart. Great video though. It's nothing more than common sense. Run good quality products for maximum life. You can't go wrong with OEM for sure. If anyone out there wants to be a dummy and go cheap, go ahead. Walmart oil? Cmon. There is a reason the good stuff cost more. Sure, some of it might be the name. But there is a reason. They are called influencers for a reason. They influence us in to doing stupid things.
  2. Not trying to get off track with this thread, but how often should I change my battery? I have a 2024 Edge (manufactured 08/23). Also is this something I can do without taking it to a dealer. I am pretty mechanical and can do it no problem but is there anything I should know. Thanks
  3. The surround sound is amazing! Toggle between stereo and surround and you will realize what a difference it makes.
  4. crazyhorse, it seems like there is always something different or inconsistent about the PTU units over the years. Possibly some mid-production changes. Adding liquid cooling, high torque PTU units on the ST, different vendors etc. might be some of the changes that cause so much "PTU confusion". My PTU on my 2024 ST has a cooler and no drain plug. All I can tell you is that if your PTU has a drain plug, you are one of the lucky ones. I have to remove the nuts retaining the cooler and pop the cooler out about 1/2 inch to drain my PTU. Yours should be easy.
  5. fh4ever, when I realized that something wasn't right, I went to a local Ford dealership. Apparently, they discontinued it on the 2021. He had one in stock which I was amazed. I bought it and it came with all the retaining clips. I actually installed in the parking lot at the dealership. Took all of 5 minutes! Looks so much better. I too felt that along with better sound absorption it would protect hood paint from heat. Sad that Ford would discontinue standard parts before they continued production of the vehicle. Shame on Ford.😒
  6. My 2021 ST did not come with an engine cover or a hood insulator blanket. Looked kind of funny with both of them missing. I did not buy the engine cover but I did buy the hood insulator blanket and installed it myself. It came with the attachment clips and looks so much better. Not sure how much it helps with noise. Never followed up on the engine cover but it does look like a cover from an earlier year will work
  7. The shuddering should definitely not be there. I know that Ford has had a lot of issues with the transmission control module on the Edge ST and even offers out of warranty coverage. Mabey applies to the 2.0 as well.
  8. Mine calls for 75-85. Also I noticed the PTU on the ST is called a high torque PTUSpecifications - Power Transfer Unit - 2.7L EcoBoost - 2022-2024 Edge.pdfSpecifications - Power Transfer Unit - 2.7L EcoBoost - 2022-2024 Edge.pdfSpecifications - Power Transfer Unit - 2.7L EcoBoost - 2022-2024 Edge.pdf, although they look the same.

  10. Samurai Edge, intelligent people do not need to use social media. That is a given I too have avoided the social media monster that eventually consumes so many people lives. We are probably missing out on some valuable and helpful information. But at a cost for sure. As I make this post on this social media website. I realize to some degree, I have been consumed by the lonely, biassed, sad social media monster.
  11. Can't beat OEM. 90 percent of the aftermarket crap is now built in China.
  12. I am getting ready to change my PTU and RDU fluid at 15K. Using Redline for both. My PTU does have the cooler, but looks pretty straight forward. I hope!
  13. I am not sure, but I am guessing the B&O in my 24 ST is the same? Reading up it is a 12-speaker system, including a front center speaker, 2 rear surround speakers (in the ceiling) and a subwoofer in the back. I have it set in 'surround' mode, which makes such a big difference! I listen to music all the time and it seems to be an amazing system.
  14. I have heard nothing but good about Redline. Normally I stick with the manufacturer's product. I am going to do my PTU/RDU fluid changes at 15K on my 2024 ST. PTU Redline full synthetic 75W85 GL-5 gear oil RDU Redline full synthetic MT-LV 70W/75W GL-4 gear oil. Fords PTU/RDU are ticking timebombs, unless you stay up the fluid changes. Seems like frequency is the key.
  15. It is the exhaust resonator. Same thing happened to me on my 2021 ST about 11K. Warranty knows this is an issue. I doubt there are any TSBs as Ford probably wishes this is another nightmare they don't need.
  16. Do not do anything aftermarket. Order the replacement tweeter from a ford dealer.
  17. My 2024 has rain sensing wipers. To be honest I don't really notice much of a difference. I actually went back to using the Wiper Delay and adjust as needed.
  18. Cheap gas is not worth the risk. Remember this post originated from buying cheap gas and a check engine light. That should be a red flag for all of us. Thank you for the post. It just enforces my belief that good top tier high octane fuel is beneficial. Maybe not such a big deal for a non-turbocharged engine???
  19. Unfortunately in California we only have 91 octane. I have been running it since new. I think for the ST premium is the only fuel anybody should use. My owner's manual says the vehicle is designed to run on 10 percent ethanol max. Mine is a 2024 so I cannot imagine any Edges made before mine are designed to exceed that limit.
  20. Samurai Edge, you said it. I could not agree with you more. Do not risk putting cheaper gas in your vehicle. Especially when it is a turbo charged engine. Remember the regulation on this stuff is minimal. It could be 20% and you would never know. Do not risk saving 2-3 bucks on a tank of gas. It will cost you down the road.
  21. I don't know but are you sure your vehicle is ok with 15% ethanol? My 2024 Edge ST is designed to run on 10% max. Ethanol is not good stuff. That's why it is cheap. Hope your vehicle is ok as a lot of long-term damage can occur to the rubber and plastic components in the fuel system if they are only designed to handle up to 10% and you are running an unapproved fuel.
  22. Remember the good old days when you used your eyeballs to look at your tires and if one looked low, you added air? And it was free!
  23. l too got the same update, even though I never had an issue. Hopefully it fixed the glitch that other people were having
  24. johnmarkp. What year is your ST and how many miles do you have on it? I have a 2024 with about 12 thousand miles and have encountered a few rattle and shake noises myself. My recent one was a panoramic moonroof issue which I believe I have solved. Last year I made a post about a rattle/squeaking sound coming from the same area you are dealing with. It only occurred at higher speeds. I ended up tightening all the screws that hold that same splash shield and the noise went away. All the fender well splash shields are attached so poorly, I could see that being your issue. When Ford introduced the ST they stiffened up the suspension, and the end result was more rattles! Very irritating to say the least. Keep us posted.
