Love the projector headlight. Cant stant the increased chrome grille. Hence why i replaced mine with a painted one. My opinion the 4 cyl is a mistake: For me, that is what set the Edge apart from the CX7. My brother bought the CX-7 and i was just about to. That turbo 4 just sounded way too loud and seemed to be working way too hard. There is NOT really any fuel savings. Turbos usually require premium fuel do to the higher compression engine (now they claim the CX7 can use regular). Thats way a Murano was also out of the picture. Well if i had the money i would of gone with a MDX and lived with the premium fuel. If your going to burn fuel, dont puss out and throw in that Eccoboost 6 for the Edge Sport or make a SVT model! The Edge also felt a lot bigger inside, had rear passenger vents and the reclining rear seats clinched, the deal. My major flaw was the lack of the entry assist handles up front. "Ohh shit handles" I'd rather have a 6 cyl working at 60% than that turbo working at 90%. But it is nice to see that an american car company finally learned to update the cars. Not like my old 2003 trailblazer that basically remained the same.

My company uses Ford for their fleet vehicles and i succesfully reprogramed an older style remote as an additional spare. took just 1 minute to do. Just like the one you saw on ebay. Also the older style keys work as you know already.

For Sale, Pair of OEM Ford Edge headlights in perfect condition. I swapped mine for the Edge Sport headlights New, these typically cost $150 each. Asking $175 for BOTH. Just a little annoyed at the "extension" of the warranty. I live in Florida and lightly use my Edge, Mainly on weekends. Not a whole lot of days i'll really need to use the heat. (This weekend I used it for the second time and i owned the card since January Now with about 8400 miles) Fix the problem don't extend the coverage and home most of us fall out of the warrantee. Just does not seem right.

The grille was painted by the dealers collision center. Dark Ink Metallic to match. (i bought the primer version of the grille) Some idiot (typical Florida driver in traffic) (probably texting) decided to kiss my rear bumper. I'm glad it was mainly a remove and replace repair. So the body shop shot it along with the new bumper cover. Best opportunity to get it painted otherwise it would of cost an arm-and-a-leg to just shoot the grille overlay. AND Since they had to drop the front bumper cover I also had them swap out to sport headlights. (Anyone need to buy a set of slightly used headlights??) (Maybe I try a HID retofit with Acura TSX lights) I thought of buying the sport black foglight bezels but The all black bezel made the fogs look too small. So I taped the reflector and ran new sharp razor blade around to get that effect. I sanded, primed and painted with SATIN black to match better with the unpainted black plastic. Hopefully it will not chip off too bad. DAMM LOVE BUGS!

Lex posted the link regarding the Scion xB bumper protector. You'll need to do a little work prior to install. The tailgate side is slightly flipped up. You'll need to straighten it. I heated it over my stove in small sections straightend 90% of it. Probably took me less than 20 min to do. The curve is just slightly bigger but just push it inward while attaching it to the bumper and you should have no problem. Final result is great. Now you'll protect the lip of the bumper. I had the ford stick-on vinyl one and it began to shrink.

I went with the Bully Dog Basic System http://www.reversebackingsystems.com/Produ...productid=DT104 I had no issues ordering from them. I installed it myself. I just wanted a basic "beep-beep" If you remove the rear bumper cover, the factory locations are marked from behind. I drilled a very small pilot hole at the center and re-assmbled the bumper. After, I taped the area and used the supplied hole bit and finished the install. (total about 2 hrs) Final product looks factory installed. I have dark ink metallic so you cannot notice the black sensors too much. I also installed another set (unpainted) on a Silver Grand Marquis and panted them with silver metalic and the work and look OEM. (The unpainted ones have a black ring with an unpainted metal center. I used lightcoat of primer and a light coat of paint.)

FYI i purchased them and they are just like he described. My kids thank you.

I have also experience anoying rear seat belt flapping... I personally like to roll down the windows and smell the smog... LOL The best solution is to roll up all windows about 3-4 inches and that seams to do the trick.

JUST AN FYI. I called a company in Cali named ANZO and a rep mentioned that they are working on an projector kit around $450 for the Edge probably due to come out in the fall. http://www.anzousa.com/index.html PS You'll need to remove the bumper cover in order to remove the headlights.

Just some info on the factory hitch setup: I bought the factory hitch and installed it. It's not welded on the bumper, the hitch IS the bumper. The non hitch bumper is only bolted onto the facia of the the body and made of "tin". The replacement hitch/bumper also slips into the unibody frame of the car made of slightly stronger square tubing. Like a the old days when a bumper was a bumper and not just something to hold the cover in place. I thought of bringing it to a welding shop and retro fitting it to 2". Just because it is much easier to purchase stuff for a 2" receiver.

My two cents worth... I had a SVT focus and it too had the audiophile system. I kinda wanted to put a larger amp & woofer. Ford has a f-up way of hooking it up and i believe you will have to re run all new wiring. I just left it alone is still sounded great. I could be wrong though. I want to hook up a sub to my Edge did not come with audiophile option. I did find a company that make s box/woofer but its more money that i want to spend on that mod. Maybe ill look into putting one under the passenger seat like my Subaru WRX had. Like Emeril says "Kick it up a notch" I'm not looking to be hear from three blocks away. I'm done with that phase a long time ago. Good Luck.

Has anyone seen replacement projector headlights for the Edge yet? I want to go with HID's but dont want to blind on comming traffic. I like the new headlights on the new Fusion. That Grill set up would look awsome on the Edge. Nissan Murano like. I just hope the also get rid of the clear taillights. Thats why mine are tinted thanks to Nite Shades. TANX

UPDATE on factory Hitch. I finally installed the factory hitch and only had one problem... You'll need a 18mm socket. Most sets have 17, 19 NOT 18. The factory hitch is a actually a replacement bumper. I believe its worth it just to have something much stonger to absorb the impact. Knock on the metal of the tin can car and you'll know what i mean. You'll remove the rear bumper cover and remove the bumper. Be careful with the joint on the quarter panel, there tabs that lock it in. It all would not have taken me more than and hour if it was not for that damm 18mm bolts. Cutting the bumper was also easy, their is an outline on the bumper to follow. I rough cut it with a pair of shears and then used a rotary cutter to cut and "melt" it close to shape. Finally with a utility knife blade removed the melted shmuts. I was approx 1/8 - 1/4" inside the line and it fits well. You also trim the bumber reinforcement styrofoam crap. Regarding using the existing wiring: The dealer did confirm that you will need those 3 relays. Part# 5L3Z-14N089-AA. and install along with the 3 fuses. One problem... $24 for each relay... ouch. I'm going to try to swap the originial bumper for those three relays at a salvage yard. The dealer told me you should find them some 2006 and newer Fords.... ON A MISSION! Well now that I know how to remove the bumper, I going to try to get the factory backup sensors. Also marked nicely on the back of the bumper. That may require dealer ECU activation? It connects in to that plug under the bumper.. Or Just do aftermarket sensors. Thats a very important feature that I wish I had. Next stop to Northern Tools to get a 1-1/4" drawbar w/ 2" ball and rubber cover and also order that bicycle rack. GOOD LUCK.

I too did not want to install an aftermarket hitch that hangs so low. I just ordered the factory hitch....even though i wanted the 2" receiver. My main reason was for a bike rack and the rare time i need my 6x10 utility trailer. I ordered from www.ford-parts-direct.com Its is a dealership Lombard Ford in Winsted, CT. But i was talking to Scott a parts rep there and he had mentioned that there might be something coming soon regarding those coolers. I was also questioning him about the plug in the rear under the bumper. It has the Yellow, Green, Brown and White on the four coners and some more prongs in the middle. According to the Edge owner's manual: FUSE 9 – 20A Trailer Parking lamps RELAY 11 Trailer Parking Lamp Relay FUSE 24 – 10A Trailer Left/Stop RELAY 22 – Trailer Left/Stop Relay FUSE 46 – Trailer 10A Right/Stop RELAY 47 – Trailer Right/Stop Relay See Pics It looks like you can do it yourself. you just may need those relays so you can get power to those wires. I would rather tap those then tap into the bulbs. You can always get the $50+ T Harness also I'll put a post if it works. Can someone who has the factory hitch take a pic of their fuse box and send it to me. I would like to see if they are the same 5L3T-AA relay and the orientation of the white mark. I'll go to the junk yard and get them. THANKS

I agree that the turn signal is loud. I liked the one on my Focus SVT. I wonder if you can swap them?

Thanks for the info. You would also think that some manufacturer would have made a set of projector HID replacements by now.

I see that H&R and Eibach both have lowering kits. I'm partial to the Eibach. I had them on my WRX. They sell the alignment bolts for the front. Rear are not available. The real question is - Are you getting tire wear issues typical of too much negative camber in the rear tires? or are they OK? Can you also post some pics of your lowered Edge. TANX
