Thanks for that info! And happy new year. Last night i came to the car with a scanner and no codes were pulled. I dont know how well the scanner works, but he said its what he uses on his fords. If the key fob unlocks the doors, am I correct in assuming it is programmed to the car? So it would not be a key programming issue, it would be pats, or maybe starter?

So, daughter has a 2013 limited 2.0. We have had all sorts of issues…this forum has been tons of help and now i am asking for help again. Last night i was working out of town. She calls, said it has power but not starting. So, today, i get back home. Run to the car, wont start, cant jump it. Locks work, windows work, radio, lights, everything works, just wont start. I take out the battery and alternator and have them checked. Battery is only 6 months old and tests good a little over 12 volts if I remember correctly. Alternator failed its test at 2 different places. So, i put on a new alternator and pit the batter back in…nothing…still the same. Batteries in remotes are good. I am at a loss on what to check next…

Updated the cars sync and everything seems to be working now. Thanks everyone.

Thanks. We did try all thise. The tuneskit seems a little suspect to me. I updated the sync system last night to ver 3.10. It says it supports newer model phones so…fingers crossed. There is nothing like the wrath of a 16 year old cheerleader when her bluetooth doesnt work…

Hello…we got our daughter a 2013 Edge Limited with sync. She loves it. We also just upgraded to iphone 14 pro max. Problem is, after we got the phones about a month ago, her bluetooth keeps kicking off and she can not re-add the phone. I am going to try and upgrade the sync to the newest software, but was curious if anyone else has had this issue…she loves the car and the sync…

I am hoping the same. I got up under it, there is oil all over the undercarriage. I noticed a run where it was dripping from the top somewhere but could not trace it to the source. I did spray some engine cleaner hoping that would help find it but no luck. So tomorrow I am going to run to the shop that did the gasket and have them go over it..

Good morning. Had a post on here about having a valve cover oil leak. Ended up taking it to a shop and having that done. I got back in town, went and picked up the Edge and it seemed fine. We took it on a trip, 4 hours each way, got home, it had a smell, checked the oil and it was 4 quarts low. Light never came on. So I am thinking now the oil sensor is bad, but also this morning I noticed an oil film all over the tail gate. I am at a loss as to what would cause this. Anyone else seen anything similar? Seems like everything I see doing a search online is for the 6 cyl… thanks everyone.

So…Chilton manuals has an online library…who knew…found it there, but would love to hear from anyone that has done it. Are there any gotchas or anything else to do while I am there? Definitely going to change plugs and probably coil packs also…

Hello! Got my daughter a 2013 limited, after some time a rod came through the block…put in a replacement with less miles on it, but our mechanic didn’t look it over for me…I was out of town…anyway, he put it in, it ran and I picked it up. Heater didn’t work, and now I am seeing oil from the valve cover. So…fixed the heat issue this weekend, new gate hose, thermostat, and temp sensor, and made sure air was out of the system. Now we have heat. Next up is the valve cover gasket. I have searched for a write up on it with no luck. Has anyone attempted it, or should I by a Haynes manual and knock it out? Also, will be looking for a new mechanic for when I am out of town again or can’t get to whatever happens! thanks all!

Finally got home to look at it. Ended up changing the gate hose, put in a new thermostat and temp sensor, i honest think what worked was making sure all the air was out of the system. It did have a leak, that was why I changed the gate hose. Things seem ok right now, but I did find a valve cover oil leak, so that’s the next item…looking for a write up now.

Ok, bought our daughter a 2013 Edge Limited about a year ago. About 3 weeks ago it slung a rod…blah…picked up a used engine and had it installed. Now the a/c blows nice cold air…as well as when we bump it up to HI and it should be hot air. Tried the reset procedure everyone talks about with no luck. Checked fuses, all good. Read something about the blower door actuator, it seems to be working fine. I did notice, there are 2 lines coming out of the firewall into the actuator. I assume those are heater core lines. 1 is ice cold, the other is hot, but when it makes the bend into the actuator it cools way down. Also, when doing the reset procedure, the ambient lights no longer work. They are on in the menu, but don’t actually come on…thanks for any input!
