  1. I hope the seat pan takes care of the noise, if the Edge seats are anything like the Rangers there really isn't much to them, seat frame, pan, cusion and cover. I guess the pan is the most likely cause of the noise. as for the spoiler gasket, is there any way to push the gasket back under the spoiler without taking it off? did you show it to them?
  2. cool, did you have to do anything to the MKX tray to get it to fit in the console? The one in my step mom's had a extra lever that sticks out, I haven't looked at any newer ones to see if they look different, she has a 07.
  3. Wow you have some cool toys!! I have never seen any older Utes like those, Australia has some cool newer vehicles but those old ones are very nice. The COE is very neat, there is one in my area that they have been working on, they installed a mid engine and made a custom flat bed/tow body but yours is the only other one I have seen. I am not much help on the vin but you should be able to have a Ford dealer (parts department) run the vin and list out the options.
  4. The MKX lid has the leather cover with the stitching and just a bit more padding.
  5. That really sucks. I am not much help but my Dad had a Aviator that did the same thing, he had to back to the shop several times, everything would test ok but if it sat more than a couple of days he would have to jump it. They never found what the cause was but he did have a remote start installed and we think it might have had something to do with that. Good luck and keep us posted.
  6. you might have to get the factory sun visor with the homelink in the visor unless they sell a mirror with the microphone and homelink.
  7. a plug would be nice in case you had to use the key. I guess the in the worst case I would have to drill a hole in the cover. I had a 03 Explorer that I got a painted door handle from Japan without a key hole and never had a problem, I wouldn't have drilled a hole in that handle as it was very expensive. The Edge cover is very easy and inexpensive to change and cost me less than $20.00 so I wouldn’t be too upset to drill a hole in it. This is one of those mods that nobody would notice unless you told them about it, I never had any comments on the Explorer but I liked the clean look it had Just remember if you are having any work done on the vehicle to remind them not to disconnect the battery with the doors locked !
  8. My step mom has a MKX and I was checking out the differences between the MKX and Edge interiors and I noticed that her console lid was leather and it appeared to be about the same shape as the Edge, there is a big difference in the design of the consoles but the lid has the same shape (at least on the outside) The MKX has 2 handles and compartments that open the Edge just has one big one. I was checking out EBay and found a MKX lid so I bought it. I knew the handle was different but didn’t pay attention to the inside shape of the lid (very different) The lid does bolt on but would not fit with the center coin holder and I found that the lid was loose when I closed it, the rubber stops are in a different location, I thought I might be able to remove the cover from the base of the lid but was afraid I was going to brake the tabs that hold it together, I ended up moving the location of the rubber stops and it works fine, I had to leave the chrome handle on the lid, the black one didn’t fit but I like the chrome. The only bad part is that I have to leave out the coin holder.
  9. Black grille should look good on any color Edge. I was going to have mine painted but since Ford sells one that is already painted I figured it would be best to go with the factory painted grille. Chrome can be painted over as long as the proper primer is used over the chrome so the paint won't peel off but you still have the risk of stone chips. I do like the looks of the Rover and Tarurus grilles. The billet is always a option and I like the looks of a mesh style grille but I don't like how they have the big chrome edge around them. I went through a few options when I had my 03 Explorer, it came with a chrome grille, I changed it with a black one, then had it painted body color (silver) then I got the street scene "mesh" type grille and ended up with a polished T-rex billet grille, thank god for Ebay
  10. Thanks again guys. I just hit 1000 miles and so far so good. Here are a couple of newer pics.
  11. The license plate frame was already on the Edge when I got it  , I took it off and was going to use plugs for the holes, I don't know what they did when the drilled the holes in the cover but the cover was a mess under there, I figured I would have to leave the license frame on the bumper so I had it painted to match
  12. ok, I feel stupid I just found this http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=3548 post in body, chassis & exterior, I have been searching in accessorie and modification in but not in that area. (I wish I would have seen that a few weeks ago ) sorry for double post.
  13. How do you like your Escort? I have a really old one that I had direct wired, I mounted it under the rear view mirror when I had it in my Explorer, just ran the wire down from the headliner were the mirror wires were located.
  14. were you able to order the bezel in color? I bought a set of used handles on Ebay and just used one of the covers without the hole and had it painted. Very easy mod (I just hope I never loose power :eek5: )
  15. One of the things I wanted to change on my Edge Sport was the chrome grille, there is no other chrome on the vehicle so I was checking for any kind of grille option and found that Ford sells what they call "painted grille inserts" I was not sure what the "inserts" would be but I ordered it anyway. When the part arrived I was happy to see that this is a factory painted Ford grille. They sell them in the Sport model colors (black, silver, blue & red) and also unpainted "paint to match" The grille came with instructions but was not a simple job (anyone that has changed there Edge grille knows what I mean) The front bumper cover has to be removed for access to the grille bolts and tabs that snap into the bumper cover and grille frame. The hardest part was getting the old grille off of the grille frame and the bumper cover. It ended up taking me a couple of hours but once I was done I was very happy. There was one problem I ran into with the new painted grille, it had long tabs on the back that had to be removed, I didn't find out until I had the new grille snaped into the bumper cover but I was able to remove them without removing the grille from the bumper cover. I did a search with the part number and found the best price from http://www.partscheap.com/2009_Ford_Edge_G...8200-ad-e09.htm
  16. Nice looking Edge, I love the white tricoat, very clean look
  17. Hi everyone, I just got my 09 Edge Sport about a month ago and have been checking out this Forum the last few weeks. I was at the dealer looking at the 2010 SHO and checking on the 2010 Edges as I still had about a year to go on my 07 MKZ lease, I was thinking of trading next spring. They had this 09 Sport that had been there all summer, had been in the showroom for a while and back on the lot, I had seen it several times but never thought about buying it. I was not really looking to make a trade this soon but they had some great rebates on the 09's and I can get the "Z " plan from my Dad and Ford had additional cash if you were coming out of a lease. The sales tax is deductible thanks to the stimulus package so I went ahead and made the trade. :yup: Here are a couple of pics of when I picked it up. I have done a few mods and will make new post in the proper threads (I hope )
