  1. Ford gave me new 18" wheels last summer because they were corroded from the previous winter driving. Now that winter is almost over (I live in Minnesota) I noticed the new wheels are also corroded. I haven't contacted Ford yet so I don't know if they'll keep giving me new ones or not. I'll keep you posted.
  2. I've had my Edge for a year now. I live in Minnesota, so the weather can be hard on a car. I haven't had any problems with the grill or the logo. The only problem I had was the wheels corroding and Ford replaced them.
  3. Thanks for the info about the wheels. I never noticed the corrosion until all you nice folks mentioned it. My dealer is going to replace 3 of them for me. I have to buy the 4th one because my bride put the Edge in the ditch during the last snow storm and dinged up the right front wheel. Ford won't replace anything that's damaged. The good news is my pretty wife wasn't hurt and there wasn't a scratch put on the Edge. The bad news is a few days later the car wash put about 10 scratches on the passenger side doors.
  4. I have no idea if that would work, but why go to all the trouble. I live in Minnesota and just went through our first major snow storm. The stock tires on the 18" rims go through the snow with ease. It's the best snow car I ever had and it doesn't even have all-wheel drive. It's hard to tell if the roads are slippery with the Edge. It's amazing in the snow and I don't have to worry about my wife getting stuck somewhere. Either way, good luck with that. Enjoy your Edge! God bless.
  5. I'm 205 pounds with a bad (old) back and I can drive my Edge all day without any pain. Best seats I ever had. Even better than my F-150. Maybe you have to get used to them. I hope that doesn't wreck your enjoyment of the Edge.
  6. I have the factory installed auto-start on my Edge but haven't used it because it isn't cold here yet. I don't know all the features it has but I don't think it has the features you mentioned. I've had after market auto-starts put on 5 on my cars now. All of them at one time or another have srewed something up. My Sable would start up all by itself. My Contour would try and start itself up (even though the engine was already running) in the car wash. My F-150 won't start at all when my wife drives it (she is doing something I never do because it always starts for me. I think she locks the doors before she starts it and that screws something up). My Neon would blink all the lights for about ten minutes. So I would never put an after market starter on my new car. I paid more for Ford to do it, but if it screws up I feel they will stand behind it. Those after market guys look at you like you're goofy.
  7. I bought my liner from Ford. I suppose I paid too much for it but it works just fine. We have the camel colored interior so it really shows the dirt. Ford's liner comes with four velco plastic corners so you can use them to hold just about anything in place.
  8. I'm sure you'll be happy with their product. I've got the camel interior and I feel my leather seats could have been a little darker. It's hard to keep clean with the grandkids in and out of it. I don't think I would get the leather seats without getting heated seats. I live in Minnesota and it can get really cold here. I hope you enjoy your Edge as much as the wife and I do. We just had our first oil change @ 5,000 miles and the car has been a joy to own.
  9. I have almost 5,000 miles on my FWD Edge. I love the truck but hate the way it fills with gas. You're correct, the pump shuts off but then you can put in another 3 or 4 gal. I can't tell when the truck is full so I sometimes overfill it and get gas on the side of the truck. I don't know how the onboard computer figures this all out but my Edge is getting way better mileage than you are getting. I've been getting 19 to 20 mpg in town and mid 20's on the road. For the first 2,000 miles I couldn't get over 22 mpg on the road, but then as it got broke in it got better and better. The best I ever got was driving from Minn. to S. Dakota. I had the wind behind me and got 27 MPG. Driving home against the wind I got 23 MPG.
  10. Wow, I love the color. I wanted to buy ours that color but the wife chickened out. We bought red, which I like, but not as much as copper. We bought the SEL Plus, so it came with red door handles and mirrors. I have a hunch you may be able to buy chrome mirror covers and door handles. Enjoy your new ride. We sure love ours.
  11. I haven't seen any kits for that. I like the chrome. I would rather add chrome to fill in between the lights than omit the chrome already there. Good luck on your search.
  12. Take it back to the dealer. My 2 month old Edge has the same problem and I've pushed it back in place a dozen times. It still rattles. I took it back to the dealer and they fixed it for a day and now it rattles again. I'm going to try the dealer again.
  13. Does anyone out there know if the Edge has the same sound insulation as the MKX? My Edge is very quiet (if I leave the moonroof closed) and I read an article that said the MKX had it's own sound insulation (not shared with the Edge). I don't see why that would be since both trucks are made at the same factory.
  14. I had the headrest dvd players installed in my new Edge at the Ford dealer. They sound and look good. My grandkids love the games that are loaded into the system. They can watch the same movies or play the same games, or they can play them individually. I like the headrest dvd players better than the stock factory ones because they don't block your rearview mirror and there are two players instead of only one. The sound for the system can be heard through the radio or wireless headphones. It's a pretty nice setup!
