  1. From what I've read your suppose to shave off the offending tab to allow fitment.
  2. I just placed my order for 2 toshiba 9011 HIR1 high beams and 2 Narva H9's. I also went to the GM dealer and looked at the Phillips version of the HIR1, no reflective technology. After some research it turns out they're over clocking thier filament so it will achieve the minimum lumens of a HIR1 by making the maximum legal wattage of the HIR1 9011 bulb(but thier bulb is still rated at the same wattage, bastards), because they're drawing maximum wattage bulb life is drastically reduced; funny because the price isn't. So real HIR1 bulbs are from GE and Toshiba. These bulbs are simply unheard of, everywhere I went to buy them, with the exception of GM; I got blank stares and they found nothing in their books. Apparently the GM Avalanche, Dodge Viper, and the new Nissan Maxima came stock with HIR1 bulbs, although if you go to the dealer and order they may hand you a Philips fake jobby.
  3. I've always had a good laugh at the companies putting a blue tint on their bulbs, It acts a filter blocking light, people get fooled by the color change and think there is more light hitting the road, but I suppose as long as people will buy them they'll market them. These HIR1 bulbs sound good, I'm going to look into them.
  4. I've bought my 2010 Edge late November, I could smell a sweet anitfreeze smell as it sat and idled while I was taking delivery of it. I had the shop pressure test it and the test was good, but I'm wondering if they filled the resevior bottle right up to aid in finding small leaks. As I put some miles on it and used the recirculation function I noticed an old freezer smell when switched to recirculate. Another call to the dealer and the vehicle is going in tomorrow to clean the heater/ac/venting components, I've asked them to inspect the heater core too. Also the windshield has fogged up on 3 occasions very quickly. I'll keep you posted.
  5. Good question, I'd like to know too.
  6. I love the brakes. What kind of stopping distances are we talking about with a Brembo equipped Edge and more importantly are these functional on the street. What are the pads friction rating ff, ef, hh and composition? I'm seriously thinking of throwing those on in the spring but I don't want to have the brakes glowing to get any real world performance out of them. Are you guys still running dot 3 with them or stepping up to some real fluid like a dot4, dot5.1 or the best Castrol SRF. I was looking at the new Camaro SS with it's Brembo package and then had a good laugh when I seen the Dot 3 label on the res, top notch brake components and fluid that boils at a temp not much more than water, that's an epic fail.
  7. I bought and installed 17" wheels and Hakkapeliittas on my 2010 sport, I've had no warning light of anysort. I'm kind of happy it's not working.
  8. I crawled under the new edge and there is no sign of a leak anywhere, so at least the PTU seal is good. Rubber/plastic stench is gone but not the sweet smell, I'm hoping it subsides and is not a heater core leak. I love this vehicle also, I've already got a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta's and winter rims waiting to go on.
  9. I bought a 2010 sport 2 days ago on Saturday the 28Th, left the dealership at closing; I did notice a very slight sweet smell in the cab before we left the dealership. Then 10km down the road I stopped and outside the cab could smell somehting like rubber burning. I figured it would be something fairly inert and could be repaired easily on warranty at the dealer. Now I haven't crawled under this vehicle to see if it's leaking at the PTU but I'm thinking their problem has encroached the 2010 models.
