  1. They're added on to it...But it is looking not so bad...they're quite flat. The reflectors and the lights under the bumper are a governed musthave here in germany. I am thinking about to change the lights from under the bumper in the bumper or in the cargodoor (similar Murano). Greets Marc
  2. I know that...but you're right the bodykit of the sport-version is awesome. As kit alone quite seldom and expensive. But I like the 3D-Carbon-Kit, too and it has become quite affordable. While it was above 1500$ first, some shops have it for 700-800$ now. For me will come transportcosts, Customs and import-taxes to the sellers price. Greets and merry christmas again Marc
  3. Hi, my Eddie (FWD) is driven here in Germany in quite rural area...with a few hills and so on. I just realize few days ago that my dealer put a wrong tirepressure on my tires...only 30.5 PSI (2.1 bar). Normal is 35 PSI (2.45 bar) on 245/60R18. My average mpg (US) is 17.6 (13.5 L/100km) till yet. In the beginning were 21 or 22 mpg (10,7 - 11,5 L/100km) possible, too...but only without much hills...on straight and flat roads. Interestant is that i realize that Eddie's mileage is not very bad influenced by city driving...so far it is not brutal stop and go. Shortly I put the tire pressure on 37 PSI (2.55 bar). I will tell you if the mileage will become better in next weeks. Greets from Germany Marc
  4. Really nice car...like it much. Although i would love to see some more changes to the interior...as inspiration for my plans
  5. Heavily nice car, dude. I would murder for that bodykit ;-)
  6. Hi, first thanks for the answers...should become an interesting discussion. But i guess there is a little misunderstanding:... It is not so important for me that Eddie really reaches the 140-150...i can imagine he´s able to...not more. Only the fact is that i am sure that he will get some points over the governed 115. Eddie is not a race-car...i know that. :shades: If he would reach 125-130mph it would be enough, too. You have to know that here are no general limitations on the highways (as mentioned) and it is quite normal here to drive quite fast. Normally that are 80-100mph for me with children on board, but sometimes alone it is nice to get to the top. On 3lane-highways it is quite normal to drive above 200kph on the left lane. Eddie is able to speed up to 100mph as easy as towed by a bungee cord...and not very less powerful further like without any resistance to higher speeds till the needle in front of me reaches 190kph...then the feeling is like driving against a wall or like the bungee cord comes to its end of expanding-tolerance. At the Moment Eddie has Continental CrossContact on the wheels with 245/60R18 T That are all-season-tires and although they´re not bad, it is not the right thing here for that quite hard winters with snow and for the summer they´re suboptimal, too. So i decided to change in summertires in 235/60R18 V and wintertires in 235/65R17 H as soon the CrossContacts are depleted. The CD3-Platform is a very good base. Ford Mondeo, Mazda6 or brother-model Cx-7 has the same base platform and are not topspeed-limited in Europe with the DieselEngines, bigger and stronger Gas Engines and Turbo-Engines they're easily able to reach speedlevels above or high above 130mph with absolute stable drivingbehavior. I am still quite sure that ungoverned Edges and MKXs wouldn't lead in any technical or drivingsecurity-problems. Greets Marc
  7. Hi, thanks for nice comments. There is no "German" Edge. Ford Europe decided not to offer the Edge in Europe. So actually the Edge is -as far as i know- only officially offered in USA, Canada and Brazil. My Edge is imported by a local Ford-Dealer from USA. The Kuga is not bad and quite succesfull in the race against Volkswagen Tiguan, MB GLK and some french and asian offers here. The point is that all that cars are ranging in the compact class and are build on compact platforms. Especially compared with the Edge the Kuga is quite small and quite short of space...especially in the back. I have two kids and a dog and by myself i am quite tall (1.92m; 6.3 ft), so i need some space. The next fact is that cars are very expensive here, although the carmarket is comparable "dead" like in USA and other parts of the world. You have to know that a Kuga is listed very fast above the 30.000EUR-marking (~42000US$). A Kuga in comparable configuration as my Edge (as so far possible) is listed at ~38.000EUR (~53.000US$) in new shape with a 2.0 TDCI Diesel Engine with 136 PS(134 HP) or a 2.5 Turbo Gas Engine with 200PS (197 HP). Kugas are detectable in a dozen per street yet. Bute here comes my Edge: It has the 3.5V6 with 269 PS (265 HP) that you all well know. My Edge is -as mentioned- a late 2007 model and had ~19.500 km (12.000mls) on ODO is in a quite newlike shape (and above that the dealer did a great job with conditioning) and the price was in the low Twens (Euros). I dont need a Diesel anymore (had 4 before) and so the powerful Edge is quite right and fun. At the Moment our opinion (my wife is very satisfied, too) is that the Edge is simple great. Before the mentioned Toyota we had a new and very satisfying Audi A6 Avant (4B-Model) with 2.5V6 Diesel Engine but my wife already decided: "Eddie is the best car we ever had" Some planned measures: -chrome mirrors and doorhandels (already here...waiting for better weather conditions) -deactivate Speed Limiter -change from all-season-tires to different summer- and wintersets -Making cablechannels and specific holder for Plug-in-Navigation (Becker) -Making Leather trim for Dashboard, consoleparts and doors (longterm) -Making fitting dog-resistant carpet for Cargoroom and Backseat-Backsides -3DCarbon Body-Kit (longterm) -LPG Engine Kit Edit: Forgot to mention that i put some Pictures in the forum gallery) Greets to all Marc
  8. Hello all, so far i know the Edge is limited to 115mph (185kph) only because of emission- and mileage-purposes to fulfill the restrictions in some American States. The chassis of the Edge should be good for higher speedlevels with the right tires and maybe some brakesystem-update. The Limiter schould be pure electronicall and i already know, that the Edge can be reprogrammed with aftermarket power programmers. But...normally this should be possible with the regular OBDII-Diagnostic-System of every Ford-Dealer, too. Here in Germany are no generally speedlimits yet and no restrictions, so the Ford-Dealer should not have a problem with that, right? Did somebody do that before? I guess ungoverned Edges and MKXs should be good for 140-150mph (230-240kph) What do you think? Greets from Germany Marc
  9. Hello Guys and Ladies, i am gonna to send you much greets from Germany. Since End of last August I am a very satisfied Ford Edge Driver. Its a late 2007 in Blazing Copper (i love this color) as SELPlus Version with FWD. AWD wouldn´t be bad but the availability of Edges is not very great and so i had to decide between: - early 2008 stonegrey SEL , AWD, without Panorama and - late 2007 blazing copper SELPlus, FWD, with Panorama for a comparable price. This car, with this color is a funny ride everywhere, because the edge is not well known here. Within an ambit of about 200km here is not a second one on the streets and so the expression of people faces is in according manner. Many proud fresh Kuga-Drivers (small SUV on Focus-Platform for Europe Market) are not undestanding the world anymore when they´re detecting this car :D Further the Edge has a quite good ride quality and more than enough power. Although I already had quite good cars (div. Volkswagen, Audi and other Ford) I am very happy about my last bought, especially after 4 years of driving a quite bad and unsatisfying Toyota. Never an asian car again...first and the last In addition of all i wish all members here a Merry Christmas Many Greets from Germany Marc
