  1. So how much different will the Vapor Silver be from the Pewter Silver? I'm not seeing really any difference in the comparison shots I can find. I wasn't a big fan of the Pewter because the chrome accents tend not to pop like they would on other colors. I'd love to wait until I can see all of these new colors on the Edge but I want to order to get the exact options I like and this is time sensitive since my current lease expires 10-30. I'll probably just have to roll the dics on the Vapor Silver.

The vapor silver is lighter then pewter I believe. I haven't seen the ink blue yet, but think I would like that.

  2. Would love to see a picture of how it looks with the H & R's.

Also....um....are you accepting how they installed your Sirius?

Actually, the H & R' s just came in & will be getting them installed on Monday.

They will also be fixing the antenna cable. My salesman claims they can't put it on the wing where it belongs. I'm not sure what the big deal is there, but if I were doing it myself, I'd remove the wing & figure out how to attach it there.

My salesman couldn't give me a real good answer why he coudn't get the correct factory tuner & antenna. I asked what they would do if it was a factory system & there was a defect, how would you handle that? Still waiting for an answer.

  3. I was searching Amazon.com for MKX accessories and found several new products.

Next Generation Kits (http://www.ngkits.com) has new body moldings. Their site lists 9 products for the MKS, 1 front, 1 rear, 6 side moldings and 1 full kit. They have a partial pic of the front. rear and sides and a full pic of the whole body kit. Personally, I don't like stick on aftermarket body kits. Reminds of cars from the early 80's. But the front molding looks pretty good in the picture.

I also found a wood dash trim kit at http://www.sherwooddash.com. Not sure if it will help with the glare problems that some people have reported. There are no pictures on their site, but a search on Amazon will show a small pic of the figured maple interior. No pic for the ebony interior.

If anyone has these items, please let me know how they look.

There is another body kit from a company called 3Dcarbon that supposedly works very closely with Ford to design their products. They can be ordered through Ford & added to your purchase if you choose.

  4. Well, if you think she's mad, you should have seen the fuss I made when they put a Sirius antenna on the front of my roof & RTV'd it down the edge of the windshield glass. My salesman forgot to add it to my order & I didn't notice. At least he agreed with me & that will be taken care of.

My feeling on this issue is that some either work for Ford or have relatives that do. Clearly, when someone is upset, the worst thing you can do is tell them they are wrong before proven otherwise.

    Just my .02.

  5. Picked mine up last night - SEL + Everything I wanted. Hubby said it was a nicer ride than our 03 Exp

Traded my 99 Taurus. Sorry to say bye to it, but SOOO happy with the Creme' Color

A cream Edge passed me yesterday afternoon. The first I've seen in a while. Just about every other has been black.

  6. We just picked up our Black MKX this week. We sacrificed the DVD entertainment system for Vistaroof . Has anyone had the headrest DVD system installed. How does it look and sound?

I had them installed in my black MKX. I just got it last evening & so far, I've only watched for about 10 minutes while my salesman was showing me how to work them. The picture is very good as well as the sound. You can use them seperatly or link them to watch the same thing on both. Price is $1695 installed.

  7. I picked it up last night. Its black with charcoal interior,BAMR,THX, DVD headrests, H & R lowering springs rear bumper strip & heated & cooled seats.

I forgot to ask for Sirius, so the dealer added a tuner @ $495. :censored: They placed the antenna up front & ran the cable down the edge of the winshield & used black silicone to hold it there. There is also a piece of duct tape in the door jamb holding the wire down. :banghead::censored:

Other then the Sirius thing, I'm very happy with it. :hyper:

  8. We picked up our Edge today.

After way to much deliberation we decided on the SEL Plus, Vista, Redfire with Black Charcoal Leather and trailer tow.

Odd though, it came with Michelins as oppoesed to the Continentals on the ones on the lots. Same Chrome rims though.

So far 1 KM and all is well.

Looking forward to putting some miles on it.

The more recent production models now have Michelins on them. They must have gotten a lot of complaints on those awful looking Continentals.

  9. I know Magnaflow has a cat back system that will be out soon they have it on there website but no cost yet!

I I think simple "bolt ons" would be popular with the Edge so long as they increase horsepower and don't decrease mpg a lot. It would be nice to see both lowering and lift kits for this rig I think it could look really nice jacked up 2 inches or so with some BFG All-Terrain T/A KO 31" tires under there as well as sitting down a few inches again with some nice rims maybe some 22's even.

Anyway Its early in the life of the edge and I'm sure we will see an increase in aftermarket parts in the near feature

I checked their website & it says that more info will be available by August 18th.

  10. Turbonetics will be developing a turbo kit for the Duratec 35 for this upcoming SEMA event. It will be fitted for Edge and Fusion!

"Yes, we do have an update. The kit will be developed for a SEMA show introduction, but there will not be anything to release publically until we get closer to September and the kit is completed. It looks as though we will have the Edge as well as the Fusion.

Stay in touch and I will do my best to feed you any info I can let out. "

Is it safe to assume the MKX would be the same application as the Edge?

  11. I understand that the Edge will not get car type mileage. I am just checking to make sure that it is getting a little closer to the mfrs. numbers for mileage. When I bought my F150 the sticker said 18 hiway 14 city. With no mods I had a hard time getting 14 on the hiway. Only after $1200+ of after market stuff do I get what the mfr. says it should get. I just want to make sure that it will consistantly get 20ish mpg.

I have an 05 Supercrew & am currently getting 17.2 MPG as it came from the factory. This is mixed city & highway driving. The lowest its ever gotten was 16.4. I replaced the air filter & it went back up to 17.2. My MKX is due in on Thursday.

  12. I have the dark amythsus (can never remember how to spell that) and it looks black and I thought it was at the dealer. But, it is so cool, because so many people ask me what color it is. Also, the dark amythsus has lots of sparkle in the paint and you can see it when you are right on top of it in the sun. I wonder is the dark blue is the same way.

My Lincoln dealer has 2 of these on the lot. They do look black from a distance. I really like this color, very distinctive. I'm anxious to see if the ink blue is the same.

  13. No Lincoln doesn't have anything like this, Since mine is White Chocolate, I will be going for a clear plastic covering, like the type that can be installed on your front bumper. Google search for protective Bumper cover and you'll come across a few places where you can order one precut, and instructions on how to install. ( Name of site escapes me at this moment, but when I am ready to order I will re-run my search again.) Then again, I'm debating with myself on the need to have it, I don't plan on hauling lumber out the back of the Lincoln.

Its also available for the MKX.

    Part #7A1Z-17B807-AA for the MKX

  14. What is the big deal with having to have the spare tire floor locked? I have those cargo organizers, and there OK to toss in vechile cleaning supplies. As for Cutting out the Styrofoam, just spend the $65 the factory wants and have the plastic bins installed, otherwise just remove what you can and use the painted floor sheet metal. IF I was to break into your vechile, the last place I would assume you stored anything of value would be around your spare tire, I'd go for your radio and what was in the glove box and center console. The center console was touted as being able to store a laptop in and it looks to me like it might.

As for a mat to protect the rear carpet, I purchased one from WeatherTech. Fits nice and has about a 1.5 inch lip all the way around it. I've had 2 vehicles with a cover that unfolds over that rear area and they become a pain in the butt soon enough, The cover ends up being stacked in the garage after about 2 years.

I'd also assume that if that cover was closed, there must be something of value in there. A quick smash & grab. I feel that is more of an invitation for trouble. Better to leave vaulables at home.

If you must have the shade, I suggest leaving it open when that area is empty.

  15. The order guide does show a White Sand for the 2008 Edge, unless they are using the MKX's White Chocolate and renaming it White Sand for the Edge.

I'm pretty sure this is the same as White Sand. Looks better from a distance than close up in my opinion.

  16. Ford seems to have trouble with colors lately. Their purple and gray are so dark they look black too. Why make a color so dark you can't tell what color it is on a cloudy day? We bought a red one and like it, but a few more good choices would have been nice. The off white, tan, copper and red were the only colors we liked. Lucky for Ford that the Edge is such a nice truck that they could sell them if they were painted pink!

That's the whole idea behind such colors. The color seems to change as the amount of light does. My first recollection of this type of paint was on the Dodge Intrepid when they were introduced.
