I would get the car in to your service department as soon as possible before corrosion sets in and causes more damage. If your wife takes sugar in her coffee that might gum things up even more. Hopefully, there's someone at your service department who is able to, and willing to try cleaning up any liquid damage rather than swapping parts out and charging big bucks.
