RXuereb Posted June 18, 2012 Report Share Posted June 18, 2012 Has anyone had any problems with an OSS Sensor? My 08 Edge has just over 20000 miles and last week the check engine light came on. As soon as I tryed to drive the ref counter went so high and the Edge hardley moved so I stoped as soon as I put it in park it julted back and forth!! The ford dealer told me that its not covered under the warrenty!! then all of a sudden I was told it was covered.... So i was just wondering if anyone ran into the same problem... perfik Posted July 18, 2012 Report Share Posted July 18, 2012 I just took mine in this morning to get the OSS replaced. The tech said it is not a common problem at all but while they were replacing the seals they did the OSS also. I am covered under a premium warranty that I purchased with the used Edge that covers me for 3 years. The problem is that the OSS is inside the transmission case so you have to take the trans case off to get to it. I would think it would be covered under basic warranty though. Hope that helps.
