jasglory
After shutting down the engine of my Edge 2013 the display prompts screen said "battery saver system off-power off battery or start engine" How can I solve it?
MICTIP
There is no one answer to this as it could mean a couple of things: 1. Your battery may need replacing; have it checked to see if the Cranking Amps reading is what the battery indicates on its sticker, i.e. 540 or 650. It may read that its putting out 12 volts but the real test is if it reads total CA's. A cursory test for volts only tells what a short term surface drain voltage is; not an 'under load for extended period' voltage potential is. If the CA test is less than 540 (or 650 if you have that) then it would be advisable to replace the battery. 2. It may need a new fuse #29; pull that fuse, wait five minutes reinstall and start your car and see if the message is gone after a few minutes. If not the fuse is ok (you will lose your radio/nav/etc settings when this is done so check battery first. 3. If you haven't had the microsoft 'Sync Update' done to your car this could be the issue. Since its a 2013 a newer version of the software that runs the MyTouch/Sync system is out and solves a number of 'bugs' that the previous versions (2013 back) have. Contact your ford dealer and have them check your VIN to see if it needs an update. If so they can do it for you or you can download from the internet to a thumb/flash drive then insert it into your USB port while the key is on and it will automatically update your system (takes an hour +/-) so you may want to drive it around while its being updated (take a pleasure drive) with your ear buds on listening to music from your smart phone ). This is an elusive problem. If you leave anything plugged in to one of the convenience outlets for too long it will potentially affect this setting and if parked too long without starting it then starting it and immediately driving it, will drain the battery to the point the warning will come on...so...there is no one quick and easy answer...sorry. contact your ford dealer and have them check your vin to see if it has a new update.Read more: A 2011 Ford Edge displays > Battery Saving System OffHow do you correct? - Ford Edge Displays > Battery Saving System is Off how do you correct? :: Ask Me Fast at http://www.askmefast.com/A_2011_Ford__Edge_displays__Battery_Saving_System_OffHow_do_you_correct-qna1594973.html#q4567071 contact your ford dealer and have them check your vin to see if it has a new update.Read more: A 2011 Ford Edge displays > Battery Saving System OffHow do you correct? - Ford Edge Displays > Battery Saving System is Off how do you correct? :: Ask Me Fast at http://www.askmefast.com/A_2011_Ford__Edge_displays__Battery_Saving_System_OffHow_do_you_correct-qna1594973.html#q4567071
