Battery warrant/replacement issue

Okay so as most or at least some have dealt with my wifes 2011 edge limited needed the battery replaced.

I am surprised and not upset but annoyed that a 2011 vehicle that is 3 years old has a bad battery already.

I spoke with the ford dealership here and they will sell you a factory replacement for $128 un-installed with 650 cold cranking amps and its the factory battery with a 3 year free replacement and like 80 month pro rated replacement.

 

So they will sell me a battery with a 3 year free replacement but don't offer any warranty or pro-ration on a factory ford battery?

The factory battery warranty is 3/36 just like the rest of the car.

 

My batteries have never lasted more than 3 or 3.5 years whether it's the factory battery, cheap replacement or expensive replacement. 3 years is not uncommon.

My wife's '09 MKS had the battery go after 2 years, replaced at no charge by the dealer. Maybe because it's Lincoln, I don't know. My '12 MKX is 3+ years, I keep jumper cables in with the spare tire. I might just go out and get a new battery with winter months approaching. I did put a new battery in the wife's car last winter, never had luck with batteries lasting much more than 3 years.

Batteries are covered by the B2B warranty - 3/36 for ford and 4/50 for Lincoln.

 

Ditch the jumper cables. You can get a jumper box for $50 and you can start the car all by yourself.

I never have had a battery go bad this quick. I bought another motorcraft one from the dealer.
