RJG
A friend of mine, with a top of the line loaded Toyota Avalon sedan, showed me yesterday how he can update his car's NAV with app from his I Phone any time he wishes. Not sure if that is map data, or points of interest. But believe it is all data. Just like a portable Garmin. Is Ford offering anything like that? We have a Limited 2012 Edge with NAV, and I always thought it stupid to ride around with old data, when new info on roads is out there. akirby
I don't see any such option. Entune is an app that works similar to MFT and sync services using a data connection to look things up but there is no option to update the on board map and poi system that I can find. RJG
I ask because....yesterday he showed me by turning on his phone, going to app.....then a message on his NAV screen says "no new data available" ,. He said to me that he updates it all the time from I phone 6. I then saked him if that was an extention of his phone showing on NAV screen, and he said "no", it was car's NAV. I thought maybe it worked kinda like one of our cars without NAV with those "turn by turn" directions that work off your phone. He said no. It was same system as on Lexus models. Just wondering if we get that on future Fords. Thanks for response.
akirby
If it does that then it certainly isn't mentioned in any of the user guides. That would be a nice feature,
