Lthilo
Turn signal started blinking really fast, so I bought a new turn signal bulb and installed it, but the turn signal still doesn't work. Bulb showed signs of melting between the bulb and collar, but wiring seems ok. Anyone else have this problem and know the fix?
evh
I would remove the new bulb and check the inside of the socket and make sure it is still in tact and make sure the terminals are clean that touch the wires on the bulb. I always take some fine sand paper and clean them off to make a clean connection again.
PaulSchott
Very common problem. You can try to clean the contacts in the socket or replace the socket. You probably should file a complaint on the NHTSA web site. There are numerous complaints already filed about this.. Ford is ignoring the problem. Fortunately it is not a very expensive fix. When you replace the bulb use a brand name bulb. My experience has been that the cheap ones use a lower temp plastic base.
