tomterrific Posted January 21, 2008 Report Share Posted January 21, 2008 I am a new reader and registered today. I find this site very interesting. I purchased a 2007 edge sel in July. It has the standard AC climate control. I realize that I miss the auto climate control and wish I had bought it on my edge. The is a unit for sale on ebay that is for a freestyle that has auto climate control. It appears to be the same unit. While at the dealer this morning, I looked at the unit in a freestyle compared to the edge and it looks the same. I asked the dealer service manager and the parts person and they didn't know. The parts person said that they part numbers for the freestyle, taurus, and edge are the same. Can I retro fit this unit into my edge? I know I will have to replace the surround console unit, but is the harness in place to support this? I know that on some cars, the wiring harness is the same and the units are swappable without any mods. Is this the case on the ford vehicles? Thank you.
