SDK
Ford Edge with 200K miles creaking sound coming from rear drivers side wheel area. It consistently occurs when braking to a stop starts at approximately 30 mph and continues until completely stopped. Driving along and not stopping no creaking noise is heard or stopping brakes at speeds like 55 mph to 30 mph just starts at around 30 mph and continues to complete stop. I don’t think it’s brakes because it’s not a grinding noise. Seems like a suspension noise. any ideas on what to check or replace? enigma-2
My guess are worn sway bar bushings. The rubber hardens and the sway bar tries to bind on the rubber. Braking shifts the weight fwd putting stress on the sway bar.
