for those of you who are waiting or have waited

Recommended Posts

Hey Hey all. Well, it is getting closer to time for me to go talk to my local dealer about an edge. My question for those of you who are waiting or have waited for your car because the dealer did not have anything in like you wanted, what did you do about payments?

I mean, it may be a silly question, but first of all I have never ever owned a brand new car, and of course never had to order one, so I was wondering how the dealers worked this out?

Do you put money down letting them know you want it? Do you go ahead and make payments even though you don't have the car? (I think that would be odd)

What is the process???

Thanks for your help!

There is was no available Edge in the combo I wanted - I got the NAV and there were very few dealers with a NAV edge on the lot.

Its 6 weeks now.. and it should be this week. My brother works at the plant - so I got his company discount. Its no different that buying one off the lot - left a small deposit - financing starts when you take delivery.

It is the wait... seems like forever..

You need to ask the dealer. It depends on what you're ordering - some may want a deposit (normally $500 refundable) some may not. Once it comes in the process is the same as buying one off the lot - except hopefully you've already negotiated a price.
