OEM fog lights on SE?

Recommended Posts

Is it possible (and then how difficult) to add the factory foglights to an SE model Edge. Previous cars I've owned already had the wiring harness and connectors in place (cost savings to use same harness?) and it was relatively simple to buy the parts (or kit in some cases) and put the pieces into the bumper cutouts and dash switch. Any info about the SE? I'd be perfectly happy with an SE with the exception of it not having fog lights (I think they should be a required safety feature, but that's me). Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!

I don't know about the wiring, but does your headlight switch have the set up for it? to turn then on, you have to pull out the knob on the headlight switch. A headlight switch could run into a good amount of money if it's not the one for fog lights. Just the knob (not the entire switch) for my F-250 when it broke cost me $25.00

I believe that fog lamps are an option on the SE. If you don't mind not having the original fog lamp switch, it's pretty easy. The only difference between the two models are that one has a black out plastic cover and the other has a chromed plastic insert with the lamp assembly. The fascia is identical in both. Both the black out and the chrome insert fit the exact same way. One can be taken out and the other put in it's place. There is a left and a right insert, the lamps are identical. The fascias or bumpers "call them what you want" come from the supplier complete with black out or fog lamps installed. So now it's a question of wiring the lamps. I don't know if your vehicle has the original wiring ready to receive the fog lamps. If not you will need two male connectors for the lamps "one for each". I hope that I have been a help. B)
