Deciding which interior leather color on White Sand Limited
kmhibbs replied to cmoses's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
My '08 is White Sand with the camel interior and I really like the contrast the black dash and trim gives it. Glare is non-existent. I put in a black Weathertech cargo protector so the entire cargo area is also black. -
My Edge replaced a 2003 Expedition and I don't miss the grab handles. I used them alot in the Expd. but that was because I was stepping up into it but since I sit down in the Edge, I don't need them.

:shades: I hate to be the one to say it but, I told you so. Mine starts creaking when I open the garage door and the cold air hits the wheels. I can live with it. Gives it character.
-
I think it is the chrome clad wheels creaking. I think there's another thread on the subject.
-
I am totally positive that I have the camel interior with a black dash and trim. I don't know what's going on with the gallery so I've posted pics below.
-
Look in the gallery. I've posted several pics of my 2008.

I agree. I compared a 2007 Creme Brulee with Camel to my 2008 White Sand with Camel and I much prefer the black dash to the camel dash. Classier, in my humble opinion.
-
I agree. If it has what you want go for it!
-
I can confirm it. Dash is black with camel interior and looks fantastic.
-
I just installed the Weathertech cargo liner yesterday and I couldn't be happier. Fits perfectly and looks great!
-
Probably, for safety sake, but the cargo liner will hold more and will be easier to clean.
-
One thing you must get when your baby gets here is the black cargo liner from Weathertech. It fits perfectly and the black finishes off the back very nicely.
-
This method works perfectly. Now all it says is Sync and waits or the particular media and waits.
-
Hitting the voice button twice will allow you to barge in but I cannot get it to recognize "Interaction Mode Advanced". No matter how I say it it just tells me to enter a recognized command, such as help, menu, USB.....
-
That could be it. The drive I tried was completely empty expect for folders containing MP3s.
-
Not totally useless. I put a small plastic cup in there and use it for trash. As a drink holder, a bottle of water is about all you can expect to store in it.
-
I don't have to wait everytime for Sync to recite the options. It says enter a command, I say USB and away we go.
-
The carpet is tan. I did get the all weather mats and am really satisfied with their weight and quality. I took the regular floor mats, put them in a plastic bag and placed them in storage. I have ordered a Weathertech black rear cargo mat that should come in in the next week or so.

It's a Seagate 100GB Portable External Hard Drive; USB 2.0 5400 RPM 8MB cache 2.5 inch drive PC or Mac

My suspicion proved to be fact. I hooked up a USB powered laptop drive and it works flawlessly.
-
My 2008 AWD Limited has 20" wheels, so unless something has drastically changed you can get 20" wheels on an AWD Limited.
-
I suspect that a USB laptop drive will also work. That would give you an enormous amount of space. I haven't tried it yet but it should work.

EXCELLENT! You won't be sorry you went with the camel interior. Ford did a really nice job on the interior. I compared it to an '07 with camel interior today and there is absolutely no comparison. The '08 is much more stylish and appealing. I agree that the world will spin slower now as you wait for your baby to arrive. It's so fun watching new parents.

I couldn't agree more, but with a fine ride like the Edge it didn't seem so bad.

What a coincidence! My first road trip was to Midland last week.
