  1. Can anyone comment on whether or not there is some sort of window that opens when you start the vehicle indicating the version of software that is installed. I will admit that my vehicle is one that is being held at the factory, but once it's delivered to the dealer and then subsequently to me, I'd like to know that it has the most current software installed. I have registered on the "syncmyride" site and have determine,d that version 1.3 is installed at this point. I have read other threads on this site indicating that they have sync 2.0. If nothing else, I guess I'll just have to check the syncmyride site on the day I get the call to pick it up.
  2. Mine is an Edge Ltd. AWD. We both must obviously be VIP customers. They want the majority of problems addressed before giving us the vehicles. All my dealer told me (last friday) was that their dealership just received the latest download from Ford to fix problems. On a different note, I watch Ford shuttle vehicles to a nearby location daily. Rumour has it that they might be uploading the new software offsite so as to not disrupt the assembly line. Our vehicles are probably being held to get these updates before getting released.
  3. Well, hard to believe, but I thought I'd have my vehicle by now........NOT....., , Its now been about 3 weeks since the build and Ford refuses to deliver the vehicle from the plant. As I'm sure you've read, the software issues are the culprit. Rumour has it that there are fixes to these software problems so I'm hoping I'll be in the drivers seat soon
  4. Just talked to my dealer in Mississauga today. He confirmed that vehicle delivery is on hold until some of these issues are dealt with. He also confirmed that the dealership just rec'd the latest software fix yesterday......hopefully it will cure most of the issues and speed up delivery of my vehicle. Here'e hoping
  5. Is there a version number for your latest update that you can share. My Edge is in a holding pattern at the plant (2 weeks) and I would just like to confirm that I have the latest software when I get the call to pick it up  Thanks
  6. I bought my Edge in Mississauga as well, at White Oak (yet to be delivered).....no mention of free service.
  7. Holy crap you guys, I'm getting paranoid as I know my vehicle was made 2 weeks ago but still remains in the factory lot. I can only hope that they've held up delivery until some of these problems are solved. How do you know which software version you have? Does the system boot up much like a desktop, showing the software version before displaying a home screen?
  8. Ordered mine Sept 30th. VIN produced November 5......live 7 miles from dealer....2 miles from ford plant. Car is built and sitting in factory lot. Dealer says there's been some issues ( I assume he's referring to all the above comments about MyTouch etc.) I'm being patient......but my wife wants it now.....the car that is :happy feet:
  9. I am wondering about exactly the same thing. I live in Oakville Ontario and see that WeatherTech has a showroom in Burlington Ontario. I am familiar with WT product and the digitalFit for vehicles is awesome/high quality. As a Canadian (we) continually get screwed by the dollar exchange, but as you mentioned, that has changed. I know that you just wanted the cargo mat as I do, but if you go onto the US site, (and type in a search for 2010 Edge) you will see that they package the digitalFit cargo mat with the front and rear mats as well for 279.85 US. Compare this to the Canadian site which offers the same product for 352.85 CAN. I thought I would head out to Burlington and see if their existing stock that fits the 2010 also fits the 2011. Here's hoping Good luck :speedie:
  10. Is there anyone who can comment on whether or not one should downsize their tires for winter driving. I have yet to take delivery of my 2011 Edge AWD.....but in preparation have already obtained my Blizzak DM-V1's for the upcoming Southern Ontario Winter. I chose to order 18" alum. rims with 245/60R18 105R Tires, as this was one of the defaults on the tire rack site. (The other default was for 17"). Any comments would be appreciated Thanks
  11. I also have one coming next week.........white platinum. I opted for no panoramic roof. Wind buffering when roof is open sucks. Opening back window a touch does not help at all. Also opted out of blind spot monitor. The yellow light that comes on at night is annoying. Seeing is beleiving....that why I wanted the blind spot mirrors (standard). I agree with previous comment. You don't need AWD where you are. 18" Tires will have a softer smoother ride. If you opt for the 20's.....they look better but are not as smooth as the 18's. Just my comments as well.
  12. I will be taking delivery of my 2011 Edge Ltd AWD soon. Snow will be coming soon to Ontario Canada and I want to get snow tires ready for installation. Canadian retailers still cant compete with Tire Rack prices (moreso cuz the dollar is almost at par). Question revolves around the decision to get TPMS sensors in the new snow tires or not. Previous posts on this subject were answered by members with older models that elected not to have them installed. Black electrical tape seemed to be the cure to block the annoying warning light on the dash. As you all know, the new vehicle has a new dash. Can you use the same trick on the 2011? I know the system is there for safety reasons, but I've been using a tire gauge to monitor my tire pressure for years. I just don't want to pay the extra 170.00 for the sensors, and I'm wondering whether or not the the unit in the vehicle has to be reset ever spring and fall when you switch from winter to summer tires (both on there own set of rims). If so, is the dealer going to charge me 50.00 + -, to recalibrate the system each change? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks Shaky
