  3. I received requests to post pictures of the Wheels + Push bar. Here they are...Sorry, but I am far from being a good photographer.
  4. I am located in upstate NY... JP
  5. I have the following items in great condition for sale: - Black Anodized Hunter Push Bar + PIAA Fog Lights (510 series, wiring was never installed, all parts still in box) - Weathertech Floorliner DigitalFit 1st, 2nd row + Cargo Tray (NO scratches OR damage) - 4 Genuine FORD Gun Powder Wheels (5 spoke) + Tires + TPMS set has 4Km of usage, wheels are balanced(sticky weights/inside of wheels), NO scratches OR damage on the wheels. As I no longer have my EDGE, all of these items are readily available for purchase. If you would like to see pictures, please let me know... Tks..
  6. Weasel, I agree with you..However, FORD will NEVER do a recall on this problem. They cannot afford the bad publicity that this would generate + it would cost them too much $$ to do a recall on the AWD Edge. However, if you are unhappy with the repairs thus far because of the continous leak of the PTU, you do have Arbitration at your dispossal. I went thru it and won. I am just waiting for the phone call to go and pick up my check...FORD has 21 days to submit payment.. Good luck
  7. OK Guys..My 'nightmare' is over!!! Had my arbitration hearing this morning...and the verdic is....BUYBACK!!!! I won my case hands down...Ford will now be the proud owner of a leaky 2007 Edge. I can only wish the rest of you with the same problems the best of luck...There is always a way out. I certainly will miss the Edge. Besides this on-going problem, the vehicle is awesome... Good luck to you all...
  8. I had a smilar problem on my vehicle a while back.. The dealer rectified the problem by adjusting the latch on the door. Problem gone..
  9. Edge18, There are 2 types of leaks on the PTU 1. Leak from the seal between Transmission and PTU (inner seal)...Leaky oil will be "reddish" in color, same as the Transmission 2. Leak from PTU itself (outer seal)...Leaky oil is darker in color ("black") 1. is the most common problem with our vehicles. Look back on this blog, somebody posted the TSB on this --> TSB 08-12-3 You will need to look under the vehicle where the Right Side Driveshaft enter the PTU. What color oil do you see. If it's "reddish" in color, then make sure to check once in a while the tranny fluid level. You can drive it, however be aware of the smell and smoke that may materialize as the oil drips on the enhaust. If the oil is dark in color, then you do have a bigger problem, as it is the oil inside the PTU that is leaking. There in not much oil inside the PTU --> approx 1/2 quart...so depending on the amount of the leak, you may want to keep an extra "eye" on this. Unfortunately, the position of the oil fill plug is hard to get to. But with some patience it can be done. Good luck.
  10. All manufacturers have their "problems"...However, what I do not find acceptable is the method in which FORD is addressing this problem --> Keep replacing Seals and PTU's and hope the problem will go away As I have mentioned in my previous blogs, we are not talking about "rocket science" but basically a seal that is failing and allowing Transmission Fluid to leak out from the PTU. FORD has had 2 years to address this problem. Thus far, no solution. The transfer case / PTU was not invented 2 years ago. FORD has been using these components for years. So why do we see these failures on the Edge/MKX? Things that make you go Hmmm..? I am no longer willing to be a "lab rat" as previously mentioned by someone else in this blog. I have been extremely patiente and coorperative (4 PTU's and 1 Seal Kit) + it is currently leaking again. I have had great experiences in the past with Japanese (Nissan + Honda), so I guess I will try my luck once more with them..
  11. Great to hear that FORD repurchase your vehicle...I only hope you got what you wanted $$ I am scheduled for the 2nd week of April for the Arbitration meeting. I am expecting also a buyback from FORD.. It's a shame as otherwise it is a very fine vehicle...Well, looks like I will be looking once more at the Japanese models.
  12. There is no known "fix" for the leaky PTU issue. FORD released a NEW PTU unit in late December. However, these have also failed. Keep in mind that the leaky PTU issue has been around since 2007 when the Edge was introduced into the market. 2 years later and there is still no solution from FORD... If you have had a number of PTU's or Seals replaced already, I would strongly recommend that you seek out Arbitration, BBB or the LEMON Law in your state. Just because some AWD Edge/MKX have not leak until now, it does not mean they will "never" leak...Just a matter of time. Maybe they're already leaking and the driver/owner has no idea...Does it smell like burning oil when you have been driving for a while and you come to a red light? If you wish to learn more about this issue, please look up the "burning smell" blog in this Forum.
