  1. My 2002 Mercedes will literally freeze you out in 3-4 minutes. My 2008 Edge will eventually cool you down but the vents never ever get really COLD like other cars I've owned. Definetly inadequate air temp and flow. There's no excuse for this problem. Shame on Ford.
  2. Wanted black leather headrest dvd players 2008 Ford Edge
  3. I think it was starting in 2011 they changed the diameter of the headrest tubes by a few millimeters. I bought some 2011 headrest dvd players for my 2008 and the rods/tubes were a different size.
  4. [My 08 did the same thing. I figured mine were plugged up too but found out differently. The problem is the nozzles get brittle and break off where the hose connects. It's from the extreme heat in the summer sun, when you remove the hood insulation you'll find it soaked with washer fluid from the broken off line. Dealer said they sell a lot of them ($4.50 each) I bought a couple extra. GM and Chrysler have the same issues with their hood mounted nozzles.
  5. My Michigan driven 08 has 37k and I keep it in a heated garage with a de-humidifer, I really like this vehicle BUT, The under side of the front hood edge above the drivers headlight has a 13" by 3/4" area thats bubbled up very badly and rusty. From past experience I'm guessing 3 years tops it it will be visible with the hood closed. I'm also noticing rust on the same structural area on both front doors, I'm getting a bad bad feeling about this potential rust bucket. I can handle mechanical problems but rust is in a whole different league.
  6. Just a heads up on a possible design flaw,I hand washed my 2008 Edge this summer, about 3 hours later I pulled it in the garage to change the oil. After I jacked up the front of the car I noticed 3" puddles of water in front of the rear wheels, it came out of the ends of the rocker panels. I see this as a potential serious rust problem. I'm going to do an inspection of the rocker panels and possibly create some drain holes.
  7. My 2008 edge 35k would make a very very loud howling noise from the left rear wheel after about 40 miles on the X-way, the rear alloy part of the wheels ( 20") especially the left side would be too hot to touch. Took it in under warranty and they couldn't duplicate the problem, 1500 miles later it started again and it was out of warranty I inspected the wheel and found the outside original fomoco brake pad "frozen" in the caliper assembly, the rounded edge was worn in at about at about a 15 degree angle same thing on the right. I had to hit them with a hammer to get them out of the stainless steel guides/track. the after market pads fit perfectly, no more howling, no more heat, problem solved. it was the pads being slightly to long/big to properly move as they are meant too. I happen to be on the mechanically inclined side but this problem was a no brainer for a Ford Tech to diagnose and correct.
