  1. OK, lets see if I can do this in less than 5 minutes: 1) My DRL turn signals work in complete unison with the stock turn sig. DRL amber LEDs go on and off at the same time as the stock turn bulb. The white LEDs turn on and off just opposite the amber LEDs (switchback) 2) My lights work on every Edge model/trim type, including the base SE (everything is included in the kit. You just supply the pair of pliers and a scredriver.). Very elegant and simple install. By the time productuion lights hit my floor, I will have made and posted a step-by-step installation video. I am also drafting a nicely detailed installation guide with lots of photos. I want to make the install as easy and as fast for everyone. Check out the video I made installing my original LED DRL version. The EDGE-2 will install very much like the old lights. LinK: http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/FAQ.php 3) Estimated arrival to my shop of the new EDGE-2s is the week of June 3rd. I ship everything via USPS Priority Mail which has a 2-3 day transit time.
  2. Made it easier to order the new DRLs. I edited my earlier post. Here's what I added: "If you want to get in on the first shipment of the EDGE-2 DRLs, please follow this link to my DRL webpage: EDGE-2 DRL Page. I have added online PayPal payment buttons, so now you can place the order directly from the site. Price is $215.00. See the website for discounts for past customers and shipping details.
  3. I'm peddling as fast as I can my fellas! Production of my new EDGE-2 DRLs began over the weekend and orders are now being accepted. (I will be writing up the "official" thread soon). If you want to get in on the first shipment of the EDGE-2 DRLs, please follow this link to my DRL webpage: EDGE-2 DRL Page. I have added online PayPal payment buttons, so now you can place the order directly from the site. Price is $215.00. See the website for discounts for past customers and shipping details. Sorry to be so brief. More details coming in the new thread. Best bet for now is to shoot me an email. FYI, my man Cellbine will begin helping me to stay on top the forum posts and making sure forum inquiries get answered quickly. Stay tuned.
  4. Sajid.ali, I only offer the the upgraded LED Puddle Light units themselves. If you are interested in my Plug & Play direct replacement LED Puddle Lights, please let me know. Thanks.
  5. Hi Joe, I love the AEs! Makes a big impact, but is not overstated. Very classy. I would love to know how your dealer was able to disable the headlight DRLs. If you don't know the exact procedure, can you give me the name of the dealer so I can talk to them? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to make it public. I will do the same. (By the way, those vertical LED DRLs look sweet with the halos ;-). I hope you're still getting a lot of second looks from people checking them out. Combined with the halos, your Edge is soooo unique!)
  6. New Photos and "Movie Trailer" for my new EDGE-2 Next GEN daytime running lights. We have our first online distributor / re-seller coming on board soon. Their website is www.DriveBright.com. The website will go live on May 6th. Orders will begin going through their website on May 6th. Stay tuned. Coming Spring 2013
  7. You always want to cut the initial hole smaller than it needs to be. That way, you can slowly make it bigger, test fitting the puddle light as you go. (It's like getting a haircut. You can always take more off, you just can't put it back on :-).
  8. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="wannabang" data-cid="95953" data-time="1367202821"><p> Mirror housing. Sorry, Dan. I couldn't think of the word and went with module. I don't currently have puddle lights, but it'd be great to just find a totaled Edge somewhere and swap the mirror housing and run wires. I assume it can be done, but locating mirrors and running wires would be pretty tedious.</p></blockquote> Not sure how much room is inside your existing mirror to fit my puddle lights, but if you have about 1.75" inside, you could cut your own hole into the mirror housing. It would take a little time and a Dremmel rotary cutting tool. Just another option to consider.

Any idea what it would take to swap in mirrors/housings with puddle lights? I think that was the question in #8 ...</p></blockquote> What year is yours? Does it have the round plastic covers filling the puddle light hole under the mirror?
  10. I'm a little unsure what you mean by "module". Can you describe what you are wanting to do in more detail? Thanks.
  11. LED Puddle Light SALE Ends May 1st Our $10.00 discount sales event is ending May 1st. Head over to our website for details: www.DAYTIMEBrightLites.com
  12. Hey Mike. A good way to keep moisture vapor from appearing on the inside of the lens, other than finding and fixing the leak, is to throw a couple of antidesiccant packets just inside the dust cover opening. These should keep the lens from fogging from humidity. It won't help if you actually have water getting in though. If you don't have any of the packets, this could make for a good excuse to buy a new TV! There are always a couple of antidesiccant packs in the box ;-).
  13. Welcome to the family. You will enjoy your new Sport.
  14. The new LED taillights are really too far along to make any major changes. We are currently running components on the new tooling to see if we need to make any adjustments to the dies. Spoke to my manufacturer last night and he is working to get me a set to evaluate and test in a week or two. The LED brake lights consist of two solid LED bands running parallel around the perimeter of light (top edge, outside edge and bottom edge). These LED bands are uniform and solid in color, so you won't see individual LED hot spots. Similar to the new BMW taillight. Once I certain of the final design, I will begin posting photos of it.
  15. Welcome aboard and enjoy your new ride. Lot of folks here to help with any questions you may have.
  16. I'm with Rockballer. 2 door Civic to Edge Sport is a big leap. You must be loving it. Glad to have you on the forum and thanks for thinking of me and my LED lighting as possible Le upgrades. I'm replying from my phone so can't post photos of it, but I'm going to begin taking orders for my new Edge-2 LED DRL later this month. Shoot me an email at info@daytimebrightlites.com and I'll send you a pic of it. You may want to put aside a bit of mod money for the new Edge LED taillight I'm hoping to have out in June. Not releasing photos of that yet. (The design is still a bit fluid right now, but the first prototypes look awesome. Stay tuned)
  17. Welcome Blacksm1th. Many of us agree with you about the lack of aftermarket accessories for the Edge. Pretty much had to custom make something if you wanted it. I'm doing my part with my LED products and will have a couple more exciting lights coming out later this month (LED DRLs in April and LED taillights in June, fingers crossed).
  18. Enjoy your new ride. I am still loving mine after over a year having it.
  19. Welcome to the forum Guru. I hope your wait goes quickly on your new Sport. You're going to be happy with your new ride. Enjoy making it your own with the mods.
  20. Hey Candurin. Can I put you on a retainer for your unique persuasion services? :chairshot: I may have a need for them in the future as well. Have a safe trip to China.
  21. I totally agree with you Is. I'm not naive enough to think knock-off's won't popup or that manufacturers may not stick to agreements, but at this point I'm still confident in the agreement I have with my Chinese manufacturer. I am 100% certain that these ebay lights will not function like DRLs on the N. American Edge and can't work at all on the Edge-SE. These lights are powered by plugging in the OEM plug for the accent lights on non-SE Edges, which only have power when the parking or headlights are on. And I know for sure these lights don't have LEDs as powerful as mine because the US engineer I have been working with hasn't shipped the final circuit board or LED specs to China to make my DRL versions. I do appreciate the patience you all have had and promise that it will be worth the wait. I'm sure most want a truly bright and full feature DRL, rather than a spiffed up version of the wimpy accent light that came with the Edge.
  22. I will be posting a thread on the forum when orders will start being taken. I'll also be posting more photos and eventually get a video up with them in action.
  23. The first ebay link in Naverino's post is the DRL design I have been working on with my manufacturer. The seller is from Hong Kong and this light will not function on the North American Edge (more to follow below). This ebay seller is not supposed to be selling these DRLs in North America (using N.A. ebay). I will be making a Skype call tonight to my manufacturer in China to have a conversation about this. My manufacturer and I made an agreement that I will selling these exclusively in North America. The ebay DRL will only work on the Chinese Edge not on a North American Edge. The new DRL design uses the same OEM plug design on the back of the light housing in which the OEM plug connects to to get power to the light. The OEM wire harness in the Chinese market Edge comes from the factory with the DRL function, but the North American Edge does not (only on when parking or headlight is on). The NA Edge cannot be reprogrammed to the Chinese spec allowing the OEM wire harness to function as a true DRL (auto-on when engine starts). This is why it has taken me so long to get my NA version out. Me personally along with an Electrical Engineer from the manufacturer (lives in Minnesota) finished up the circuit board just yesterday. Not only doesn't the Chinese ebay DRL not work as a DRL on Edges with existing OEM wire harness, but SE owners can't use them at all because the SEs don't have an OEM wire harness to plug into the DRL. I had to design a plug and play wire harness to allow the new DRL to to plug into the back of the DRL to get it to function on NA Edges like a true DRL. These ebay units are also using smaller and less powerful LEDs in the turn indicator and can barely be seen during the day and not much better at night. That's why my version is using an amber LED that has the same power and performance level as the white DRL LEDs. My NA version will also incorporate a clear light bar turn indicator using amber LEDs for a clean uniform look. I mocked up a very-close-to-production unit yesterday. See photo below. (Note: I didn't have the amber LEDs to install under the clear light bar, so I inserted small pieces of amber colored plastic in the reflector openings to get the amber color. The production units won't have these amber inserts and will be totally clear. The turn indicator color in the photo is also more yellow than the amber color which will come in the production model). My version also adds a dimming feature that is activated when the headlights come on. Having the DRLs at full brightness at night causes oncoming drivers to flash you thinking you have your brights on. I am sending the final unit to my manufacturer this week. Once he gets he will be able to give me a firm ship date. Once I have this date, I will begin taking orders. I also won't have a final sell price until my manufacturer receives and reviews the sample I'm sending him. The NA DRL will be a bit more expensive due to the additional functions, clear light bar (& amber LEDs), higher performing components and the external wire harness that is required. Our target is $200.00 or less. Let me know what you think of the light.
  24. Very cool KingMike. I'm sure you'll keep all of the rif-raf off of the forum. Akirby sticking around as a moderator still or are you now "the man"
  25. Dang! I have LEDs on the brain. So much so, that I'm seeing the word when it's not even there. :kuko: Sorry Dapgovol. Let's try this again. My reply, Take 2: Do the mirrors in your SEL have the round blank plastic covers where the puddle lamps would have gone? If so, you won't have to replace the entire mirror. Just remove the blank cover and snap-in the new puddle lamp. As for the wiring, there will not be any wiring inside the mirror to power the puds. You will need to run two wires from the mirror into the passenger compartment and connect to an existing circuit. The easiest circuit to use is the dome light. Here's what I would do (disclaimer: I do not represent myself as an expert in automotive wiring. I am just saying how I would do it if I were installing the wiring) 1) I would use 16 or 18 gauge wire. 2) crimp on female spade connector 3) run the wires from each mirror to the dome light. 4) install an inline fuse holder on each positive wire from the new puds with a 2 amp fuse. 5) use a quick splice connector to connect the positive wires from the puds to the positive of the dome. 6) Attach the negative pud wires to a ground location. There is an existing grounding stud behind the center column trim between the front and back doors. Save you from having to drill a hole into the body. I would love to hear from anyone that has alternate install methods. Hope this helps and actually is actually relevant to your original question :D .
