Not sure what you mean when you say "bars". The 50W LED bulbs in my kits are direct replacements for the front and rear turn signal bulbs in all model year EDGEs and have dual function just like the dual filament stock bulb. -
The quickest and easiest way to resolve and/or prevent hyper flash is to use high power LED bulbs that are at least 30 watts. The higher wattage will not trigger the hyper flash because it's drawing the same amount of current as the stock bulb. So no need for resistors. I have actually put together an LED bulb pack for the front and rear turn signals and reverse/backup lights. The turns are 50W bulbs that has ten 5W CREE LEDs and the reverse bulb is a 25W using five 5W CREE LEDs. The bulb pack will be owing on sale later this month. Keep an eye out for them.

Jtuder, I'm not sure how the the DRL installation would have affected the high beam shutter, since the white headlight trigger wire from my DRLs connects to the headlight bulb wire which is totally isolated from the the shutter operation. Can you confirm that the white DRL trigger wire is connected to the correct wire color per the instructions? Edit: Just read your last post about your dealer fixing the broken shutter. Glad to hear that. I have to think the shutter issue was coincidental to installing the DRLs.

Edge SE owners: I started a new thread in Classifieds specifically for the SE. My objective is to inform Edge SE owners that my EDGE-2 kits are totally compatible with the SE and that my DRLs do not need the OEM factory wiring to work. Great to hear your install went well and you're liking your new lights. Glad you like the parking light wiring configuration. FYI, For those that may not know, it is perfectly fine to attach the white DRL trigger wire to the center parking light wire.

Right now, I am going to stick to my earlier statement and policy, that the EDGE-2s should not be wired in any other way (other than the use of the OEM plug) then what is stated in the installation instructions. (white trigger wire to headlights, black trigger wire to turn signals). I am looking into the alternative wiring methods that have been brought up here, but until we determine whether these methods are OK or not, I cannot recommend them. If we OK these wiring changes, you can easily reconfigure the wiring at that time.

Thanks for the info on your temperature tests. The concern I have about having the amber LEDs constantly on as DRLs, is not damaging the LEDs themselves or the housing, but damaging the electronic compenents of the inernal controller. The additional heat from running the amber LEDs continuously may not be enough to melt the plastic components, but could damage the DRLs controller circuits. Again, I strongly recommend not configuring your EDGE-2s in a way that allows the amber LEDs to run continuously. Just want to confirm that it is perfectly safe to connect and power my EDGE-2s using the existing OEM plug. You will loose the automatic DRL function, but if turning the EDGE-2s on and off manually each time does not bother you, then you are in good shape. Concerning Edges with the amber parking light DRLs, I am working on a wiring method that will allow the EDGE-2 turn signal to function properly. Hope to wrap that up very soon. My Canadian friends here are on the forum are helping me find this work around.

Being able to power my Dr L's off of the factory wire harness plug would make the install much easier and help reduce the cost a bit I'm not having to provide a wire harness relay. would any forum members that work for Ford or that works for dealership, mind commenting on whether reprogramming the computer setting to allow the vertical lights 2 function as DRL's would actually Void the warranty? I don't see how changing a setting that in fact can be changed, would void the warranty. maybe I could see it, if you actually have to create your own custom code, but if its just a matter of selecting a pre-configured setting, then I am skeptical that it would affect the warranty.

That would be awesome Norm. I can't wait to hear what you find out. Can you see if they would give you the detailed procedure and any of the specific code numbers and/or settings so that customers can take the info into their own Ford dealer to make the change? There's no sense in every Ford dealer's service department having to reinvent the wheel to make a simple programming change.

If you look closely at my install video, you can see how chewed up my bumper tabs are after installing and uninstalling over 3 dozen times. You all don't need to worry about this happening with just a couple of installs. I am still using the orginal stock clips, so the clips will last forever. If some of the tabs get bent, you really don't have to spend a lot of time trying to get them back in position perfectly. They will still grip hard.

So glad you like your new EDGE-2 DRLs. You are so right about not being able to get the true look of the lights from photos or video. The camera just cannot capture it. That's one of the most difficult things about marketing them. Having HIDs does not affect the function nor the installation of my DRLs. So no need for concern on that. Can't wait to see the pictures of your Edge with the new lights shining. :-).
