  1. It was just doing a scheduled update. Sometimes those can come at inopportune times but if yu give the system just a couple of minutes it will load up the update and then go back to normal operation. It can be a bit frustrating when it occurs when you are trying to do something specific but otherwise there will be no harm. It would certainly be nice if the updates or system maintenance could occur when the car was off but I guess tht would be quite difficult to work out logistically.

  2. I'd personally rather pull my own teeth than read through that government blather. I knew when I put my blue led on my plate light that it was not within the law but I thought I would try to get away with it. No way I'd read through all that mess to check on a red plate led though. I'd just see how long I could get away with it...unless of course I were to be hauling illegal items. Lord knows I wouldn't do that tho!!

  3. I was wondering that too. I would think red would be ok for the license plate since it would blend in with the color of the rear running lights. I got pulled over and kindly told that my mostly blue plate light was not a good idea. The cop was very kind about it though.

I decided to go look at the actual written laws and those things are worse than reading an instruction manual for toilet paper.

  4. My dealership screwed me over by waiting about an hour too long to do a trade for a red Edge just like what I wanted. I was so upset. I wanted mine when I wanted it and didn't have the patience to wait longer than the month that I was shopping. Therefore I ended up with a Silver one. Don't get me wrong, I like the silver but it was my SECOND choice!!! Dammit!!!!

  5. That's a tough question. I suppose you could check with the dealer to see what the Edge Sport lower panels would cost you. Something tells me they are going to be VERY expensive. I know there are companies that make add on lower kits for the previous generation Edge but from a quick search I don't see anyone making something like that yet for the newest evolution of the Edge. Maybe on this post or the other one someone else will have some better info for you. Sorry I could not help you much.

  6. Unbelievable that this has not been done as a 2011 AWD recall! If Ford really gave a shit about their buyers they would have sent all the owners of the applicable vehicles a letter to bring in the Edge and they will change out the rear end diff and whatever parts are necessary for the fix. This is the kind of crap that sometimes makes me wonder if I made a mistake coming back to an American brand. I bought a Ford out of the whole "Buy American" campaign and because of a general patriotic attitude I have. I sure as hell hope I don't regret it.

We have an Infiniti and if there is even the slightest of problems we take that car in and they get us in and out with a really nice loaner and get the car fixed without hesitation or doubting what we think is wrong. I have not experienced this yet when I take my Edge in for a problem and I've had to do that twice since I bought it in September 2011.
