Where does one even find the update to 3.5.1 anyhow? All I see when I go to the update page is that I have logged the successful update of 3.2.2 and there is no place for me to click on downloading a newer version. I've updated before but it seems now I'm missing something. Anyone know how to help me out here?

It was just doing a scheduled update. Sometimes those can come at inopportune times but if yu give the system just a couple of minutes it will load up the update and then go back to normal operation. It can be a bit frustrating when it occurs when you are trying to do something specific but otherwise there will be no harm. It would certainly be nice if the updates or system maintenance could occur when the car was off but I guess tht would be quite difficult to work out logistically.

I'm sure you did the right thing. Congrats on your new Edge!

I agree that MFT can be quirky at times. I blame it all on Microsoft

I'd personally rather pull my own teeth than read through that government blather. I knew when I put my blue led on my plate light that it was not within the law but I thought I would try to get away with it. No way I'd read through all that mess to check on a red plate led though. I'd just see how long I could get away with it...unless of course I were to be hauling illegal items. Lord knows I wouldn't do that tho!!

I was wondering that too. I would think red would be ok for the license plate since it would blend in with the color of the rear running lights. I got pulled over and kindly told that my mostly blue plate light was not a good idea. The cop was very kind about it though.
I decided to go look at the actual written laws and those things are worse than reading an instruction manual for toilet paper.

From what I remember the sizes were correct for my 2011 but I'm not sure about the models before the new model series came out. Hopefully someone has done it and will see your request for info and can tell you for certain.

There are still a few hiccups but it is quite an extensive computer system running in there. It's to be expected that there are a few hangups from time to time. The updates have made the system much more tolerable though. If the dealership has given you an extended warranty on the touch system then you should be fine.

Wow, watch out for falling glass eh? I almost wish mine would explode so I could get a new one. My glass is kind of dirty and I don't have a glass deductible. Hehehe

Just like Hoe said, I have seen that only when I've used the remote starter. That's as much as I can remember about it though.

This link should take you to all the replacements numbers you want.

I'm sure it will look quite different from that when it is finally released, however if it is close to that I won't be in any hurry to buy a new one. I'm not crazy about the Escape-like look.

My dealership screwed me over by waiting about an hour too long to do a trade for a red Edge just like what I wanted. I was so upset. I wanted mine when I wanted it and didn't have the patience to wait longer than the month that I was shopping. Therefore I ended up with a Silver one. Don't get me wrong, I like the silver but it was my SECOND choice!!! Dammit!!!!

Sure thing. I really do think it looks pretty badass. I love the red paint. I tried to find one in AWD when I got mine but we just couldn't make it happen.

I thought you wanted the Ford Emblems. I dont have the Edge letters. Sorry!

Did u post any pics? Never mind I see them...looks great.

Didn't we cover this before? You should get the red ones darnit! They would look really good on your edge bro.

Lol, hilarious!
I have intact badges but you would need the rubber gasket that goes on the front one. Mine didn't last beyond one removal. Make me an offer for both and I'll consider it.

Glad to hear you got things straightened out at home. Good look getting back into the big project!

That's a tough question. I suppose you could check with the dealer to see what the Edge Sport lower panels would cost you. Something tells me they are going to be VERY expensive. I know there are companies that make add on lower kits for the previous generation Edge but from a quick search I don't see anyone making something like that yet for the newest evolution of the Edge. Maybe on this post or the other one someone else will have some better info for you. Sorry I could not help you much.

Unbelievable that this has not been done as a 2011 AWD recall! If Ford really gave a shit about their buyers they would have sent all the owners of the applicable vehicles a letter to bring in the Edge and they will change out the rear end diff and whatever parts are necessary for the fix. This is the kind of crap that sometimes makes me wonder if I made a mistake coming back to an American brand. I bought a Ford out of the whole "Buy American" campaign and because of a general patriotic attitude I have. I sure as hell hope I don't regret it.
We have an Infiniti and if there is even the slightest of problems we take that car in and they get us in and out with a really nice loaner and get the car fixed without hesitation or doubting what we think is wrong. I have not experienced this yet when I take my Edge in for a problem and I've had to do that twice since I bought it in September 2011.

Sounds like you avoided a near disaster to me! :shades:
