I would be happy to copy anything over to the Atlantic section when it comes to the rally. If you don't mind will you please report back here how your Edge handled the parkway? What size wheels and tires is your Edge running on? Have you upgraded any of your suspension?
Just as aside, we have nutty sharply curved freeway entrance ramps here where I live and I took one today at 60 mph and was full on into the pedal trying to accelerate hard the whole time. I had some minor tire squeal and were it not for the seatbelt I would have been through an open window in the fast lane! I am running the AWD sport with the Eibach springs and the stock 22" tires on the stock Pirelli Scorpion tires that are just a little over 10k miles into their lifespan. I was really impressed as this was the first time I really pushed the Edge to what I would consider the skid pad limit. I'll call it an 8 out of 10 for a 4000+ lb crossover! I did it because there was a dude in a brand new Explorer that was tailgating me something awful. I threw the shifter down into the Manual mode and got the hell after it. I checked the rear view when I hit 3rd gear and that same dude was OWNED! Lol. I know...it was just an explorer..no big deal but it was fun nonetheless.

The stuff for the 11s and 12s fit the 2013s so you are safe buying parts that are listed for 2011-2012. There are very little differences between the models .

You must live way out in the valley or out in the desert part of Cali with that kind of heat!

@kingmike. Can u describe one more time what exactly it is you want as far as the emblem colors for me please?
-
@edgeracer....I am not sure. If u measure your front emblem ill tell u of it's any different in size.
-
I'm sorry to hear that. The King should get anything the king wants!!! It's your kingdom for crap's sake!!
-
It's not impossible. Order a new chrome backing piece and have it painted tricoat red for about $50-$75 and then there is a guy on eBay who makes the ford emblem in the colors you are talking about. Just search for Ford emblems on eBay and you can even get the blue background in actual black with the red Ford letting that will match your car color. Sometimes I wish I owned the red sport just so I could do tht emblem setup. It would look fantastic!

The front emblem has some tabs holding it on. If you reach down behind the front grill you can reach them and I believe they all pull upwards to get the notch past the catch.
I found the billet badges on eBay.

Giggle. Can I hire u?

You just missed it is all. That is why I said, "That's one 'monster' of a beer.." It was a play on words, if you will.
I wasn't trying to be ugly to u. Just humorous. All good?
-
Thats a can of Monster
Thanks there Captain Obvious!

Cool, sorry about that. I guess that is an inspection sticker that looks like a military base sticker. I was in the Air Force too long so I see a sticker in that shape from a distance and I assume military. Anyhow, thanks for the job you do. Just know there are plenty of people out here who respect and support you.

Very nice. I used to have one of those 350s and my wife and I loved it. The lease passed by and we went another direction but still a fine automobile.
Are you a military firefighter?
-
Yeah, the last time I got into that stuff I had that smell stuck in my brain for a full two days. Yuk!!
-
Man, I must have been using the wrong silicone because what I've used before stinks so bad!
-
Clear silicone caulk would work exactly the same way as mtbalser suggested.
Which one has less odor and is easier to remove if there is excess that gets on the trim where I don't want it?
-
You are talking about the smaller hangers farther towards the back end. Those also unscrew in mine but the larger forward knobs that look like they could be big cabinet knobs just spin and spin. They are not screwed into the body or any other trim pieces. I am aware of this because I can feel behind them. However I just can't tell without pulling the panels completely off how exactly they are attached in order to try and remove them without breaking them, which I do not want to do.
-
Wow! Thanks! That sounds like a fantastic idea. I've never heard of the stuff but I will go get some and try it out tomorrow. Tanks so much!!

Any other thoughts? There are some really ingenious people on this board and I know there is someone out there who might have added some subs and run into this problem.....help!!!
Please
-
Still got those other screw in hangers in the very back but in principle you are correct. I think cutting them should be my last option. If you heard the ratting I'm hearing you would completely understand why I would even consider cutting.
I'm thinking that since they don't help attach the rear panel to the body or anything such as that then gluing them down solidly with a dab or two of gorilla glue would probe do the trick. How does that sound?
-
Maybe, a little clear silicone caulk.
That might not be a bad idea. The only problem I foresee with that is I'm a total idiot with adhesives and paint. I guess things can't go too terribly wrong with something like that. They are just about loose enuf to where I am considering using a thins hacksaw blade to slide in the the gap and cut them off. However, one mistake there and I've marred the plastic for good.
-
I would need a whole case of that stuff!
-
It just spins and spins. I guess the to two 12" and one 10" sub has loosened them over the last couple of months because they seem to be loosening up quite a bit. The bass is loud enuf and moving enuf air in the cabin that it shakes and stirs up my beverages. Its cool to watch but there is no telling what kind of pressure levels are are making their way around all the parts that are not well secured. I've used a sound meter application and I've seen over 125db. I have no idea how good the metering on an iPhone db app is though.
Seems to be many things begin to loosen and rattle at this point. I guess it is just a matter of Hunting down the culprit and removing it or making it more secure. I wish there was a way to just slip an o-ring in between the knob and the interior wall but the outside part is too large to slip a small enuf ring around it. I really don't want to go thru and take both panels off just to remove those sill things. I know the little smaller cargo net hangers screw out but these other things just turn in place....and rattle.

Too bad you didn't get to open 'er up a bit here and there. That would be seriously fun! Even when we drove thru there in my wife's Infiniti G37 convertible I still wished I was on my motorcycle so I can completely understand that feeling. Glad you made it through safely and made it back. I'm sure it was a beautiful trip.
