  1. Checkout fuelly.com for real world mpg reporting - on the explorer.
  2. I wouldn’t get too hung-up over just the processor’s clock speed. Lots of things can influence a processor’s overall performance: bus width (8/16/32 bits), Onboard Cache, Hardware Floating Point acceleration, RAM speed, Graphics processors, and intelligent communications processors can contribute greatly to offloading work the central processor needs to perform to get the job done. Poorly designed/implemented code and incomplete knowledge of the underlying system hardware can also contribute greatly to pissing-away a significant number of processor cycles.
  3. My 2011 Edge has a high pitch whistle emanating from near the rear passenger’s door lock stalk. The pitch of the whistle changes with the climate control’s blower speed setting. If I open the door – no whistle, crack the window – no whistle, set climate control to recirculate air – no whistle. It’ll do this whether the car is moving or parked. So I think air is either being sucked-in or forced out through the exterior door handle opening. I’ll have it looked at during the first dealer service, but has anyone heard of this problem?
  4. Mostly online shops (Amazon.com, DetailedImage.com are two). Just Google it. Also, if you go to 303’s web site, they have a retail store locator.
  5. Too soon to tell, but I applied 303 High Tech Fabric Guard. As previously mentioned, the car detailing crowd seems to like it a lot.
  6. Mine does it as well. When I asked the salesman, he said it was the HID ballast.
  7. You guys may already be aware of this site, but it has lots of ready-to-use wallpapers for your MFT. I downloaded and installed some of them, and they’re great. http://focusmftwallpapers.tumblr.com/
  8. I don’t consider myself an expert car bargainer, but I recently bought a 2011 Edge Limited AWD with 301A package and platinum white paint. I paid $300 under invoice – for what that’s worth. I did much better than my backup plan, which was the Ford X plan price. The HIDs are great, although the oncoming traffic apparently doesn’t agree – occasionally I get flashed with high beams. It illuminates the road very well and apparently the HID lamps last forever. I’m not really a sun roof kinda guy, but the Vista roof is a lot different from the sun roofs I’ve had in the past. It’s huge! I find myself using it a lot more than I expected. If nothing else, it may help later when trade-in time comes …perhaps.
