  1. Coming in to my driveway in the snow tonight, I hit some snow (which I thought was soft) and it was a solid block of ice. It pulled off the lower part of the bumper on one side. It looks like it clips in, but some of the clips are bent or broken off. I couldn't seem to put it back on. It was hard to see since it was night. Just wanting to know what to call this part so I can find it and see what it costs. Thanks.....
  2. I typically don't have the display set to show engine temp, but I happened to scroll through the various options the other day on my 2012 Ford Edge and saw the temp somewhat high. I had just started the car (drove maybe 2 miles) and the car had been in a parking garage so it was not "in the sun" before driving... the temp showed right in the middle (covering the little bulb on the bottom of the thermometer graphic). This seemed wrong so I have kept it displayed now for a few days and it is "stuck" in that same spot no matter what I am doing - cold start, drive for an hour in the sun with the A/C on, etc. I know temp sensors can get stuck, but I would have thought that would be a older manual / mechanical one (although that is pure speculation on my part). I am concerned that the car's diagnostics are telling it that it is hotter than it really is and it is unneccesarily running the fan, etc... or even worse, if the car did overheat badly, it would not sense it is very hot and not do what it needed to do. Is there a way to "reset" the temp sensor or check it in some way? I am headed on a family vacation in a few days and really don't have time to swing by the dealership. Also, I ran a vehicle diagnostic and it said everything is fine (I just hit 6000 miles on it this morning). Thanks!
  3. My "first six months" deal expired on Monday (while I was driving actually). Have had many calls / emails / letters up to this point and they are close to list price (2 months free is the best offer). I have been told to let it expire and then wait for them to call. Will report back what they offer.
  4. They go opposite for me: Sir Chn 10 Sir Chn 20 Sir Chn 30 Sir Chn 40 Sir Chn 50 If they are stacked like that and I hit the "up" on the steering wheel control, it moves from Sir Chn 10 to Sir Chn 20. Seems illogical to me.
  5. Anyone else with this crazy problem with the steering wheel controls to change stations now working in the opposite direction (opposite from prior to the upgrade)?
  6. Installed since Saturday... (1) As reported here previously, the steering wheel controls for the station select going in the wrong direction is the only problem I have encountered so far. Sort of a funny one for them to let slip out of qualty control - not that obscure of a function. (2) Not putting the outside temp somewhere (right next to the time maybe) is a miss in the design. Everything else seems OK. I was not having extensive issues before though. The one I did have (the steering wheel station controls not working a few minutes into a drive and then starting to work again 30 secs later) seems to have been fixed. Although I would take that over them going in the wrong direction.
  7. My install is done (just over 45 mins). Kept a few settings (as has been reported) like wallpaper, "My Temp", etc. It is funny that they removed the outside temp from the display. Seems like they could add it to the default home screen in the Navigation corner right under the compass and it would not interfere with their "clean and big" concept. No issues with my install... very limited use so far.
  8. Very sparky blue package came in the mail today. Installing as it sits in my driveway now....
  9. All American in Hackensack. Tried a few others around me (Mahwah Ford and Route 23), but Hackensack had the best price. Haven't tried service yet. Still very low miles.
  10. The only issue I have had on my 2012 Edge is... EVERY time about 2-3 minutes into driving the car, the steering wheel controls for the up/down station select stops working for 20-30 seconds. It "stores" the command in memory (or somewhere) and will then execute it 2--30 seconds later. The touch screen station selector will work. So... if I am on Station A, and use the Steering Control to move down to Station B, it will not move until 20-30 secs have elapsed. If, while waiting, I move the Station to B using the touch screen, the radio will tune to Station C eventually (since the "move down" command is buffering or something). Everything else functions well. Have had the car since the end of September.
  11. Any opinions on using a RainX-type product on the windshield with the rain sensing wipers? Thanks...
  12. 2012 Black on Black Edge Limited I got some quotes from two detail places around here (Northern NJ) for the full job for a new car (sealant, etc.). It was more than I can afford ($450-$650). I realize they spend the whole day on it, but I am going to have to go for a regular detail job (~$150 exterior only). I am trying to avoid the car wash places that also do detailing since they seem to run the car through the car wash and then do the "detail work" after. After I get that done, I am planning on using some spray bottle stuff in between washes/detailing. I was given the following as a gift and wanted to see what everyone thought and how I was planning to use it: Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer - outside painted areas Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer Cleaner - inside vinyl and outside black plastic (lower panels) Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Spray - leather surfaces Thanks all...
  13. Not even sure what to call this thing, but there is a rubber pin/plug that fits into the bottom two holes of the rear license plate (so there would be two of them). It actually plugs into the rear lift gate (there's a hole in the liftgate). It prevents the plate from rubbing up against the liftgate. When I went to put my permanent plates on, I noticed one was missing (couldn't be bothered to wait at the dealer for them to find someone to do it). I would guess it is either inside the liftgate (got pushed in) or fell off when the dealer put on their advertising plates. I wanted to call the dealer and see if they would mail them to me (pain to get there for me). What are these things called? Thanks...
  14. Since my Twitter and Google+ contacts got added, my MFT phone book has entries for Food Network's Alton Brown, Star Trek's William Shatner and Jeri Ryan, and several NY Yankees and Jets (among others). I would love to be able to go into the MFT with an external keyboard and make changes...
