  1. I have a Magnetic Grey ST and was wondering same. Matching the lower valance, black or close to what it is. Gary
  2. This is a known problem for all manufactures, high-end and low-end type vehicles. Problem is, Plastic v-Metal components. Bumpers are made of plastic and fender / quarters are metal. Body Shop's can correct this however it would require refinishing adjacent panels. This really is not a good idea in my opinion. Next time your out at a mall or large Big box store, look around at other vehicles (that have not been wrecked) and you will see what i am talking about. If you see vehicles with perfect color match. Most likely you will find either a rare occurrence were the Mfg got it right, or a vehicle thad had prior paint work done and the refinish tech let his pride get in the way, meaning he took time to color match "via" blend operation. Hope this helps. Gary F
  3. 8T4Z-78132A08-AB will get you there.. The actual part number is on the invoice which i will not have access to until later this week. A description plus the number provided will work. FYI - You won't get much of a better deal then $170 on Ford Accessories. I'm in the Auto business and get deep discounts (usually at dealer cost) however Accessories are priced differently then replacement parts. These illuminated trim panels are identical to the OE's with the addition of fiber optic's. Will post invoice part number for the black scuff panels later in the week if still necessary. Gary F
  4. Purchased and installed the illuminated Edge Scuff trim panels. Paid $170 from local dealer who ordered them and I had in hand Friday afternoon. Kit also includes instruction sheet and wiring harness. It took about an hour to complete because I am very particular adding wiring and making sure its attached along existing wire loom. Looks nice and the wifey is pleased. Gary F
  5. I've got the OE Cargo net system and attaching hardware (including the grocery bag handles) from a 2010 Edge. I'm going to retrofit my 08 Limited this weekend. Will post pic's when i do. For those wanting to know what this is about, you will need to study a 2010 Edge cargo area to see how Ford added the netting and bag handles. With my job, it doesn't take long to find stuff like this available for use. I found a 2010 Edge totaled due to an accident. Fortunately for me, damage was to the front end. Will let you know how this works out.
  6. Here is TSB t hat might assist you. Access is a powerful thing, Knowledge helps as well. TSB 08-26-6 01/05/09 WHITE FLAKES COMING FROM NC VENTS FORD: 2002-2005 Crown Victoria 2005 Focus 2000-2005 Expedition, F-150 2007-2009 Edge LINCOLN: 2000-2002 Town Car 2000-2005 Navigator 2007-2009 MKX MERCURY: 2002-2005 Grand Marquis This article supersedes TSB 05-10-11 to update the vehicle lines covered. ISSUE Some vehicles may experience white flakes coming from the A/C vents when the blower motor is engaged. This may be caused by flux utilized in the manufacturing process of the evaporator core. ACTION Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE Using compressed air 90-150 PSI (620-1034 kPa), clean the A/C ducts through the registers and blow off the evaporator core through the blower motor opening. NOTE THE ENTIRE EVAPORATOR CORE SURFACE MUST BE DRY FOR BEST RESULTS. NOTE WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE AND SELECTING DIFFERENT VENT MODES SUCH AS FLOOR / PANEL AND FLOOR / DEFROST, IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO TEMPORARILY START THE ENGINE TO ENABLE MODE DOOR MOVEMENT. Clean A/C Ducts: 1. Remove floor duct trim. 2. Using masking tape, connect one end of the vacuum cleaner hose to the floor duct on driver side. 3. Tape closed all the other floor duct openings. 4. Obtain about two feet of rubber vacuum line large enough to fit the end of a small shop air blowgun. Secure the hose to the end of the blowgun using a worm clamp. 5. Close all instrument panel registers. 6. Set temperature setting to full cold. 7. Place mode in floor / panel. 8. Turn on vacuum cleaner. 9. Working with one register at a time insert the vacuum line down each duct and blow shop air through each duct for 30 seconds. Be sure to close each register before moving on to the next register. 10. Change mode to floor / defrost. 11. Blow down each defroster duct for 30 seconds. 12. Alternate mode door between floor and floor / defrost three (3) times, giving the door time to move between each change. 13. Turn off vacuum cleaner. Clean Evaporator Core: 1. Change mode to full floor. 2. Ensure temperature is full cold. 3. Remove blower motor per Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-02. 4. Turn on vacuum cleaner. 5. Reach into blower opening with vacuum line and proceed to blow shop air for a minimum of 5 minutes, utilizing a very slow sweeping action. 6. Blow the entire core face in the up and down direction, then repeat moving from side to side. NOTE ATTENTION TO THE BLOW-OFF OF THE EVAPORATOR CORE SURFACE WILL DETERMINE EFFECTIVENESS OF REPAIR. 7. Install the blower motor per WSM, Section 412-2. 8. Open all registers. 9. Operate the system with A/C on and blower on Max in each mode setting with the temperature full cold and then full warm. Be sure to stay in each mode position for at least 30 seconds to ensure removal of any residual flakes I dust. 10. Disconnect vacuum cleaner and remove tape from floor duct. 11. Assemble floor duct trim. 12. Blow powder off or vacuum dash board and vehicle interior as required. WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage IMPORTANT : Warranty coverage limits/policies are not altered by a TSB. Warranty coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part.
  7. Its attached to the engine cradle and may had been use as a lifting point at one time. Perhaps a floor jack may have been utilized to lift up the Lt front of the vehicle and it slipped off?. The gouge looks fresh, bare metal showing. Gary F
  8. You will see slight color variations due to manufacturing assembly locations being different, A good example of this is bumpers and sheet metal components. You have plastic and metal parts painted in different locations and when bolted together, you see a color variance. This is all too common across all car lines regardless of price point range. Now on to your issue - The air bag door and the dash carrier are made of different materials and painted similar to the bumper example above. You will need to verify that the color variance is outside of an acceptable range to have it addressed by the dealership service dept. They will either replace the airbag assy or attempt to repaint the dash carrier to get a correct color match. Air bag doors can not be painted or died to match. Some salvage vehicle rebuilders will do this, but it is not recommended by the manufacturer. You may want to compare your vehicle to others on the dealership lot to validate and/or demonstrate the concern you have. Good luck.
