  1. I have a 2012 Sport, and that's what I get too. If you want more details, you can visit my Fuelly.com page at http://www.fuelly.com/driver/houstongman/edge.
  2. The area where I've been having a hard time is on the front driver's side bumper. Specifically where the bumper joins the panel above the wheel well. It was popping out about an 1/8" to 1/4". I could push the bumper back in, but it would never stay until the most recent fix.
  3. I never removed it from the vehicle. I have no idea what the dealerships have done though.
  4. Quick update everyone. Took my car in AGAIN for the bumper issue. This time, instead of replacing the clips, they replaced the entire bracket underneath. According to my service order, "Found front bumper cover loose on driver side. Found front bumper retainer on driver side clips had no tension. Removed front bumper cover. Replaced bumper retainer and re installed front bumper cover. Front bumper cover no longer coming loose." After this fix, the bumper has stayed in place as it should!! Seems like this might be the fix we've been looking for.
  5. Hi Chris, Welcome to the Edge Forum. Hope you enjoy your new ride! As far as the bumper, I had my car in for service a couple of weeks ago. I followed up on this, and was told that Ford still has not come up with a fix for the bumper popping out. My suspicion is that they don't particularly care about it. I've certainly not seen anything to the contrary yet anyway.
  6. Got a new S4 last weekend. So far, it works great with the MFT system. For those wondering, the MFT system and the phone generally interface well. It shows pictures of people from your phonebook and reads incoming text messages. However, you can't reply through the phone through voice commands. Overall, I'm much happier with this phone that I was my previous one (Samsung Charge).
  7. That's pretty much what I get in my 2012 Sport (based on tracking at Fuelly.com for about 25,000 miles. While I'll occasionally get higher than what my computer says, it's rare enough to stand out as an oddity when it occurs. Regardless of what I get though, it's never been close to what the sticker said.
  8. I have a 2012 Edge Sport, and mine has pulled one direction or another almost since I purchased it. I agree that it's VERY annoying. After numerous trips to several dealers and phone calls to Ford Customer Service, they finally determined that I had 2 faulty tires and replaced them. It helped for a little while but has certainly regressed to pulling again. Next time I'm in for service, I'm going to bring it up again.
  9. Hi All, I have a 2012 Ford Edge Sport and am having a problem with the front, driver's side bumper popping out about 1/4". I've taken it to several dealers throughout Texas and they've replaced the underlying bracket twice. However, the problem persists. The latest dealership told me that he could take me out to the lot and 3 out of 5 Edges would have this same problem (I understand that a limited number of Explorers were also having this same issue). According to my service invoice, Ford engineering is aware of the problem and is currently working on a solution, but I was just curious how many others were having this problem??

    MPG Question

I have a 2012 Sport with about 19,000 miles on it and have done about 50/50 city/highway driving since I purchased the car in November 2011. I've rarely reached the fuel economy ratings that were on the sticker for either city or highway driving. I've been tracking my mileage using Fuelly.com and did an analysis for my car. After excluding trips with a significant amount of high speeds (above 75 mph) or bad weather that would obviously impact the mileage, I'm running 9% below ratings in the city and 14% below ratings on the highway. While I'm quicker than average off the line, I'm by no means a speed demon. I'm in Houston, so the elevation is low and the terrain is flat. Almost all of my highway driving has been in the same conditions in South or East Texas.
  11. I've put another 5,000 miles or so on my car since this happened. I haven't run into any issues. The dealer said that it may have been some bad gas. I'm still a bit nervous to see if it happens again or not; however, it sounds like most people that experienced this problem have been "one and done". It only happened once and they haven't had any more issues.
  12. Update: Got my car back fromt the dealership after a week in the shop. The car didn't register any codes of course when the car crapped out. Therefore, the dealer claims there's nothing they could do to fix the issue except wait to see if it happens again. Yippee, now I get to hope and pray that my car with 8,500 miles on it doesn't die in the middle of traffic on a busy Houston freeway or that it doesn't crap out somewhere in deep South Texas close to the Mexican border. Guess I need to start working on my concealed carry permit to defend myself from the Mexican drug lords. Don't think I'll stand a chance though.
  13. This happened to me the other day except that I was not in reverse. I was going about 45 mph down the road and all of a sudden I started losing power, a low oil pressure warning light came on, and I lost power steering. No obvious leaks or anything. I was able to start the car back up and make it home (which was only about a mile). I called Ford Roadside Assistance and they came and picked up the car. The dealer said that the system did not record any problems (of course) but that they'll check out a few more things tomorrow. I'll let everyone know what they said (which I fully expect to be nothing). :slapfight:
  14. OK, strange thing happened. I had read on some other blog sites regarding this topic. Others who experienced the same thing had suggested filling the tank with the gas hose nozzle turned upside down. (Out of sight of anyone), I triedthis. With approximately 30 miles left (which was similar to the first two times I filled up), I was able to put in 17.2 gallons. Why there was such a dramatic difference (from 13 gallons to 17 gallons), I cannot explain. Strange, strange, strange...... I guess next time, I'll have to do a rain dance, cross my fingers and toes, and do 3 jumping jacks before filling up and see what changes then.
  15. Hello All, I recently purchased a 2012 Edge Sport and have a question regarding the fuel tank. I've noticed that, when refueling the car, I can usually only put in 13 - 14 gallons of fuel. I've been refueling when it says I have 30 - 50 miles left. Given that this is an 18.3 gallon tank, I was a bit concerned. I asked my local Ford dealership to check it out, and they told me that it is typical for these cars to have 2 - 5 gallons in reserve after the gas gauge indicates empty. Has anyone else run into this? Just seems like a large variance to me to have in reserve......
