  1. Is that what the "DRL" function does in the Edge? I had seen some talk about it before on the forum but never really read into it much. I want to design more things to print for the Edge, but I'm not very good at 3D modeling.
  2. There is a poll at the top of this Thread, submit your vote! I 3D printed a cover for the light sensor on the dash. Why you ask? I have always been trained to turn my lights on when I drive, so I am constantly switching my lights from Auto to On. It is not that big of a task, but this just allows the car to automatically turn the lights on for me. The print below is the first print and isn't cleaned up perfectly. I just wanted to see if it would work, and it does! Here are shots of the piece. I printed it in red ABS and painted it black. I do not have black filament at the moment. Top: Bottom: Sensor without the cover on: Sensor with the cover on: Outside look of the cover on through the windshield: The immediate drawback I can see is that the instrument cluster dims because it thinks it is night time. I am able to stop the auto-dimming function of the touchscreen so that I can see it better while daytime driving. Does anyone know if there is a difference in the intensity of light between when your headlights are on during the day and night time?
  3. Thanks everyone! That is great and something I am striving for myself. Not paying cash for a car, but the ability to have the financial freedom to do stuff like that. We are now one step closer to realizing our financial goals. Haha, thanks. I have had a great time working on her and I feel like I understand the car much better with just the simple stuff I have done.

    Free and Clear

I am happy to report that we have made our final payment on the Edge! We own her free and clear now. We still need to wait "4-6" weeks to receive the title in the mail, but we are still so happy to actually own this beautiful vehicle. Let us know when you have paid your ride off!
  5. The temple is tucked away. Here is a google map location: https://goo.gl/maps/BVQbe9DTjW12 Thanks =) Temples are always a great place to relax and soak in the beauty.
  6. Today we drove up to a Temple. Got a nice pic of the Edge there, thought I would share.
  7. My battery died randomly yesterday. I was fortunate to be in the parking lot of a parts store and they had a battery in stock that would work. My original battery lasted 4 years, not to bad. I should have replaced it earlier though. We are going on a trip this weekend to catch salmon with our hands! So I am happy it died now rather than we were on the trip.
  8. I have wanted to do this for years now, so I finally went out and did it today. I had 35% 3M tint installed on the front driver and passenger side windows. Since we live overseas, window tinting laws are different everywhere. I know that eventually I will go back to the States one day, so I looked up Texas state law on tinting and went with the regulation there. It took about an hour and cost me about $55. I asked him to redo the passenger side window because there was a bubble line that wouldn't go away, so that made it take a bit longer. Below are the steps the installer took to install the window tint start to finish. Rough measuring out the window shape: Straight-edge cutting the 3M tint: Test fitting on the outside of the window: Making final trims on the film before install: Placing the film on a mirror to find any flaws in the tint before install: Cleaning the inside of the window. He cleaned it about 3-4 times to ensure it was squeaky clean: Separating the protective cover from he tint and applying it to the inside of the window: Last, he took a blowdryer to help force the water down and probably to speed up the drying process: He had to remove the Sirius radio sticker on the window on the driver side. Here you can see that the tint has a slight bulge over the text and barcode on the windows. You have to look really hard to see. I took this picture with text behind a yellow painted line to show this effect. Final product: I am interested in a few things: If you had a choice to tint through a local installer or do it yourself, which would you do? What does it cost where you live to get your windows tinted? What are the laws on how dark your windows can be tinted where you are from?
  9. If you are having a lot of trouble, it might be best to remove the headlight unit completely. I have done this a few times. It takes more time, but is much easier to install HID kits/replace bulbs. I would say it will add about an hour to remove and re-install the bumper and lights. I would only do this if you absolutely cannot remove your bulbs. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12812-how-to-remove-headlights;-2011-models/?p=99347 Here is the video on how to remove the bumper if you have never done it before: Good luck!
  10. Did you install this on your Touch screen or on your instrument panel? I have much more glare on my instrument panel than my MFT.
  11. After seeing the pics of bronze in here, I quite like it. I was imagining the "burnt orange" color from the earlier years. It is nothing like that. Looks great! I am still extremely dissatisfied with the lighting capabilities of Ford. They are way behind the curve. Accent lights/DRLs only look good at night.
  12. Hey guys, long time listener, first time poster. I know it's been awhile, we have been busy. In the middle of the summer, my A/C started showing signs of stress. The passenger side would blast cold air but the driver's side would pump out warm/hot air. In 100 degree weather, this was killing me! Sometimes on long trips the driver's side would cool down a bit but not a lot. So we scheduled a time to take it into a Ford Garage in Seoul for repairs. Thank goodness I got the extended warranty! Turns out they needed to replace the air compressor. They ordered the part form the States and it got here 2 weeks later. We went back and after 3 hours we are back to freezing our butts off in the cabin. Just cost us $50 in admin fees. I need to order a new cabin filter, it has been a while.
  13. These lights have been sold.
  14. Yes, they did when I first purchased them. However, in sending them back to Asad, they were not returned installed. I am currently waiting on Asad to contact me about that. These lights now do not have that capability.
  15. I do have a set of OEM lights that I am using now. I installed the custom lights to be able to take pics and a quick video of them. They are powered by the parking lights. When every you switch the parking lights on or the headlights, these DRLs activate.
  16. Good deal. Thanks and good luck with your upgrade.
  17. Ah, I see. No projector upgrade. Oh yeah? Where did you go in Korea? We have a YT channel about Korea. Check it out if you haven't: www.youtube.com/koreaexplored
  18. I gotta stop looking at these lights and pictures or I'm going to install them and live with the consequences. Oh, I am not sure who Francis is, but Asad was who I did business with on these lights. The sealant is almost smooth to the touch and is pretty solid.
  19. Very nice. Glad you had such a smooth transaction. When you get the vehicle, post some pics and let us know how she rides for you!
  20. Wow! Everyone has been up to a lot in here. All your Edges look great! I am pretty jealous seeing everyones DTBLs installed. I wish I had my DTBL DRLs here... Today, I restored my Edge's shoes to their original glory while I was smoking ribs and chicken.
