  1. Key Fob is on the big side. What I have run into is my three attached keys tend to reach the panic button when it is in my pocket. Have set Panic off 3 times in two weeks. No biggie, but since I usually ignore those sounds, I now have to look to see if it is me!
  2. Right again, as usual, Waldo. The new Edge is an incredible improvement over the older Edge. The drive and quiet ride is so much better, it is hard to believe. The fact that there have been very few reports of mechanical issues speaks volumes.
  3. Thanks. Great detailing help for the rest of us.
  4. My SD card was missing on my Edge when delivered from factory. When you start the car, the upper right corner of the touchscreen (the NAV corner) shows " SD card fault" if the SD card is not inserted.
  5. Congrats on the new Edge. Thanks also for the help on lowering the Nav Voice. Needed that a bunch. Hopefully, when we get a few more Edges out there, we can work together with tips like that one to help us jump up the learning curve even quicker. Enjoy!
  6. I agree that there is so much to learn. Voice recognition system seems MUCH better then old Sync. But still...just getting started. 1. Asked for "nearest pet store" Got a list of paint stores. 2. Asked for J.C. Penney Got a list of chinese restaurants. 3.Lists of restaurants include several that have been closed for over 4 years. But, 4. Change temp requests worked perfectly for us. "Climate...change temp to 72 degrees" 5. Passenger can make vocal requests just as easy as driver. 6. Navigation appears to be much more accurate than upgraded DVD in 2007 Edge. 7. Home is easy to set in Nav. 8. Radio presets and tuning are very easy and intuitive. 9. Sync services work perfectly. More later....
  7. UPDATE #2 from Hannibal, MO Navigation SD card showed up as result of special order from Ford this afternoon (missing on my Edge), installed in less than 1 minute and is working perfectly. No other problems that I have discovered. Earlier questioner: After about 320 miles of mixed driving (70% highway, 30% city), looks about 21.4 MPG. I gauge it about 1 MPG better than the old V-6 Edge. Mostly impressed with the quiet interior, nice firm ride, and ease of use on MyTouch. Hope your new Edge gets to you quickly.

  9. UPDATE #1 and a Problem: OK, the sticker was $41,920 USD minus the $1000 rebate (302A rapid spec with rubber mats as only listed option). I am just a loyal Ford buyer. There are several Customer Loyalty rebates listed also, but they are full of restrictions and I did not qualify even though we own 2 other Ford products. I traded a 2007 Edge, so my out of pocket is probably meaningless. I can tell you that it was about that standard deal that you see on Consumer Reports, etc. with middle to high Blue Book values for the trade-in. I did not price the 2011 Edge as a cash only deal when we ordered. The only problem with the new Edge is that the SD navigation card (replaces the DVD for Nav) was not in the vehicle when it was unloaded at the Dealer. So when your car is started, you get an SD card error in the Navigation window. It is supposed to be in a packet in the glove box. They immediately ordered a replacement ($795 USD cost if you lost one) and it should be here on Tuesday. Disappointing but minor issue in the scope of things. Very enjoyable drive and ride. Hope all of you get yours soon.
  10. Hi All, Took delivery of my 2011 Edge this afternoon from Tom Boland Ford in Hannibal, MO. Originally a customer order dated April 1, this Edge was duplicated with an identical dealer stock order as the factory rep. knew that order would be filled first. It is a Silver Limited AWD and looks exactly like the silver model in the 360 look on the Ford website. Spent about a half hour riding around, and sitting inside. Quieter ride than my 07 Edge. Haven't done any setup yet on the MyTouch. You can feel the extra 20 horses in the 30-40 MPH range during accelleration. Low end seems about like the older Edge, but smoother than the old transmission setup. That's it for now. Hope the nav and sync are easy to set up. More later.
  11. Hi All, Took delivery of my 2011 Edge this afternoon from Tom Boland Ford in Hannibal, MO. Originally a customer order dated April 1, this Edge was replaced with an identical dealer stock order as the factory rep. knew that order would be filled first. 12. Hi Again, My new Edge (Silver AWD Ltd.) shows up today on my dealer's online inventory (the dealer stock order that duplicated my April 1 order) along with another white one. The dealer confirmed that it had shipped. Only one other Edge shows up in online inventory at a St. Louis dealer. A couple of Edges on the Quincy IL dealership's listing, and a couple of MKXs at the same Quincy dealership and a few St. Louis dealerships. I do not think any of these vehicles has shown up on the lot yet. Good luck to all of you waiting along with me. OK Waldo, you were right about ship dates.
  13. Received a call from my dealer this afternoon. No news yet on my 2011 Edge (ordered April 1, then duplicated with a dealer stock order at a later date due to those orders being shipped first). They have been told that shipping has been delayed due to "an electrical and/or software problem." Makes sense, as national adverts still are featuring 2010 Edges and MKXs today. Also, dealers in the midwest have not had their traditional show and tell or whatever they call it at one of the area dealers where sales folks can preview the updated Edge. Not always done with an update, but probably would be with the new MyFord Touch. Autoweek reported that the new Edge started shipping to dealers today, will be $200 less than the 2010 model, and "Ford is planning a television and digital ad campaign to launch the model starting in late August and early September." Let's hope so.
  14. Well, we are all getting excited. My order was entered on April 1, but have heard nothing yet. I bet a bunch of Edges will show up just as the commercials start to play on TV. For whatever reason, I still feel like there has been some sort of delay, as Ford's announced late summer rollout is bumping up against their traditional new model introduction times.
  15. Thanks marusela for that great information, just what all of us here were hoping for. If you have time and see more, please share it with all of us anxious for news on the 2011s. I drove onto the Quincy dealer's lot today, and am sad to say that it was not a 2011 MKX, only a 2010 MKT. Sorry for the incorrect sighting.
  16. I think I saw a white 2011 MKX at Gem City Ford in Quincy, IL today. First new model I've seen.
  17. More News From Dealer: Sounds like a few 2011 Edges may have already been built. Dealer stock orders will ship before retail (customer) factory orders. Don't know why. So quickest option for consumers will be to snag a dealer order as they come in first. Sounds like the July 12 Job 1 date applies to retail or customer orders. Any confirmation of this info would be appreciated by all, I'm sure. Have a great weekend.
  18. Found a stated $750US cash incentive listed for 2011 Ford Edge on one of those obscure sites listing all cash incentives for all makes and models. Expiration date was end of July, early August. I only include it because some of you have been asking. I think the info is questionable at best, but thought I'd at least throw it out there. I ordered my 2011 with no money down and I of course get any incentives and/or financing available at delivery. Sounds like the 2011s will not show up for awhile as Job 1 date has been pushed back from June 7 to July 12 (Blue Oval Forum), so Waldo may be in the know after all.
  19. Other than the post from Waldo stating that no 2011 Edges will ship until August, can anyone from the plant building the Edge give us some more info on what is being built, if they are shipping yet, and any other news they have to help us know when the new Edges might start showing up on dealers' lots? When the Edge was new the employees were great giving us some info back then. The Employee section of this forum looks a little different now, and I didn't find anything in their topic list that seems close to this info. Anybody out there have a little help for us? Thanks. Dan
  20. MOFSTEEL, I generally agree with your statement. I got stung badly by a then-new GM Pontiac Bonneville many years ago. They eventially replaced the vehicle after it was deemed a "lemon" after 120 days in the shop the first year I had it. But I bought one of the first Edges built, and have had no problems at all (44,500 miles now). I am excited about the improvements included in the 2011 model, and feel good about my upcoming purchase. Time will tell....
  21. Thanks Waldo. Where did you come up with your timeline?
  22. Hi There. My dealer in Hannibal (Boland) has had it for over a month now. I just told them to call me when they could order. I saw all the specs and the pricing associated with each option or option group. It had everything, including delivery, etc. Ordered mine and set the deal on my 07 Edge trade. Don't know why your dealer could not do same. I have purchased several new cars from Boland and pricing is competitive. No incentive news of course, but I will get any and all incentives available at delivery. I do know that the new model has 20 extra horses, but the car mags think the mileage will be about the same as the current Edges. I also know that the new turbo option will not be available until later in the model year. Hope this helps.
  23. Hi, Haven't visited since my 2007 Edge purchase. Ordered new '11 Edge when order book opened, expected a build date after Job 1 date of June 7. Surprised to get a call from my dealer this AM with news that my Edge would be built in 2-3 days. Anyone else have news like that? Hannibal, MO
  24. No. It was the only negative when I received my Edge. Others on this forum tell us that it will be an option on next year's model.
