    MPG??????

Hi, 2500 miles on my AWD SEL+. Getting 16.8-18.2 mpg on tanks around town (75% city-25%highway), and around 22-23.5 when it is almost all highway on a tank. Continuing to see slight increases in the numbers. Still love our Edge.
  2. My father picked up his new MKX yesterday. It is perfect, with one exception: The Homelink or Universal Garage Opener seemed impossible to program. After a day working with his dealer, our 50-year garage door firm and the Homelink folks on the phone, it has been determined that there is a missing step (clearing step) in the manual regarding clearing the memory during programming. It seems that the Homelink people know about the omission. I'm sorry that I don't have more details, but it is simply a missing step that was incorrectly left out of the manual, and Ford does not seem to have anything on the issue. It may be limited to some brands of garage door openers (This one is Overhead Door), it is unfortunate that so much time was wasted, when a simple communication to dealers would solve the problem for most folks. Maybe this is just too new a problem. I hope it is very isolated. This is not a complaint, just intended as a heads-up to other MKX owners. Dan G
  3. jrod, Just wanted to add my sincere thanks for all of your help the past few months. It feels like a good friend just got laid off. In fact, I think that's just what happened. All the Best to You. Dan G.
  4. Thanks again, jrod! Your kind personal service is greatly appreciated. Our Edge is great, and my father is very excited about his MKX. Dan
  5. jrod, Could you check one last time on this one? the VIN is 2LMDU88CX7BJ13224 Thanks so much. Dan G
  6. I agree, Bob. This gentleman has posted several times how he has passed on the Edge due to his opinion of the braking situation. I have driven sports cars and large trucks, and every vehicle has its own braking restraints. It is the driver's job to know what he is driving. I agree that the Edge doesn't stop like a $70,000 BMW, but it is in reality a $30,000+ crossover. I continue to be surprised at the difference between some folks expectations and what comes in a 4,000 pound package with a smooth and quiet ride. It is nothing like my son's Mustang, and I am tickled that it's not. Dan
  7. Hi, I have a red Edge with camel leather inside, and the glare is not a problem at all. I read about that problem before mine was delivered, and I thought the worst. I wear glasses and am really sensitive to bright sunlight. It is just not an issue for me. I just spent two days driving in sunshine, and I was fine. I think there are some folks with legitimate problems on these sites, but there are also others here who just show up for the bash-fest. I don't get it. I am hyper-critical when a vehicle is not turned out in perfect shape, but the Edge is doing everything I ask of it and more. Just my thoughts. Dan

    MPG??????

Sorry, I haven't gotten an accurate handle on that yet. Every tank of gas with significant city driving has also had lots of highway mixed in, so maybe someone else can help you out.

    MPG??????

Hi, Just finished a 500+ mile weekend in our new Edge. 85-90% highway. MPG was 19.8-20 on the trip. Smooth and quiet, and traveled 70+mph for most of the trip.
  10. jrod, You really are a loyal and faithful servant for Ford. Your individual work has helped dozens of us as we waited for our new vehicles. Ford should pay you to do this full time. There could not be a better way to build customer loyalty. When you get some time, would you please give us an update on that MKX we are waiting for? the VIN is 2LMDU88CX7BJ13224 My Edge is working wonderfully, and after an all-day drive into St. Louis on snow/ice covered roads, I am mighty pleased with the safe and quiet ride. 6 hours in any vehicle is a long time, especially driving in tough conditions. It was great! Thanks again, jrod. Dan G
  11. Thanks very much, jrod. Will do. Dan
  12. Hi, 20 mpg flat on second tank, mostly highway. AWD SEL+
  13. Hi, Could someone please help me with the VIN we received today for an MKX ordered early in January? Here it is: 2LMDU88CX7BJ13224 Thanks for any help you can give us. This is my father's MKX. I received my new Edge in 30 days from order to delivery. The fit and finish is superb! 20 mpg on the second tank of gas. Thanks again to all of the employees at Oakville for a great job on my new car! I wish I could thank you in person. Dan
  14. Hi, I have 500 miles on my new AWD Edge, and I was able to check for your problem today several times. Absolutely no slipping backward when I stopped on steep inclines, even when I removed my foot from the brake. Hope this helps.
  15. Great News for those of you with Newly-Ordered Edges: I ordered my Edge on New Year's Eve at a local dealer in Hannibal, MO. I picked it up today, January 30th. My paperwork showed that the order was transmitted to the factory on January 1, so order time to delivery in the midwest US was under 30 days. That is an excellent result, and I'm proud to be driving an Edge. (SEL+ AWD with NAV, sat/radio, BAMR) Question: My father has ordered an MKX, about Jan. 10. Are the production timelines for both models (Edge and MKX) the same? Thanks for the great vehicle.
  16. Thanks very much to the entire crew at Oakville. I picked up my Redfire Edge today at my local dealer in Hannibal, MO. I ordered this unit on New Year's Eve, and it was sitting on the dealer's lot this morning, January 30. Incredible short time for completion compared to many of the stories on this site. The fit and finish is excellent. I have owned luxury Toyotas, Hondas, and several domestics. This is as good as I have driven in the last twenty years. Excellent initial fit and finish! QUIET ride!! Thanks for the great product! Dan Galloway
  17. Hi, Two on the lot at a dealer in Hannibal MO One base model sage that has been there for a week, and a tan model with most options just arrived. One copper base model on the lot at a dealer in Mexico, MO One creme brulee SEL AWD (no BAMR, DVD nav or sirius) on the lot at a dealer in Quincy IL. They had to trade another dealer for it, just so they would have something on their lot to show customers. No Lincoln MKX models anywhere near here.
  18. SEL+ AWD in red/camel 17" wheels, DVD navigation, sirius, vista roof (no rear dvd or tow package). No info on delivery time, but dealer was asking how many miles I would be driving the trade-in before end of February. I did a dealer search, but with no vehicles in the entire st. louis area, and none in the nearby illinois dealers (except one lone vehicle a dealer traded $$+ other vehicle for), it seemed pointless to try to find anything close to what I ordered. Thanks for the message. This forum has been a lifesaver. I seemed to know more about the situation than any of the dealers here.
  19. Hi, Just ordered a new Edge today after a test drive in Hannibal, MO The Edge on the lot was a base model, but we enjoyed the fit and finish as well as the quiet drive. Also drove a loaded model (no Vista roof) at another dealer two days ago. The interior hard plastic comments I've read in a couple of reviews don't make too much sense to me. This is an inexpensive crossover model with loads of features, but no $50,000 price tag. We actually liked the simple clean lines of the interior, and thought the leather seats on the loaded car were comfortable, if not spacious. It felt like a lot of bang for the buck, and lets me buy local. This Edge will replace a Jeep Gr-Cherokee. Our other vehicle is a Ford Escape. My son drives a new Mustang. We've owned several Toyotas and a Honda. Our local Ford dealer does a better job of customer service and the service department brings us back. Any ideas on delivery time for new orders like mine?
