  1. Ok. It took the dealer two times to fix the leak but it appears they did. Seal kit #8T4Z 7275 DD was used. Tlim66 repair time for me was two days but I think the tranny guy was backed up.
  2. I have just developed a leak on my wife's 2011 AWD. Noticed it on the driveway and when she came home, looked underneath. Could see a slow drip landing on the exhaust and it appears to be coming from the driver's side axle near the case. Called my local dealer and taking it in monday. Has 37,000 miles on it bought it in April w/ 34000. I will post back to let all of you know what the results are. Dune pearl, it will be a redish colored fluid and if you look under neath, just follow the axles to the transmission and if leaking, it should be visable.
  3. Usually on front wheel drive cars, the axle boots can become cracked or torn and the grease will seep out during driving. The noise can be from the axle assembly or CV (constant velocity) joint and would occur only when turning at full left or right I.E. a U-turn. Just an idea but worth looking at.
  4. Welcome! Also bought a 2011 LTD and I did by an exteneded warranty. I have always bought a warranty even though I have almost never had to use it on several cars. I only regret this time was they did not offer me the Ford warranty which seems to be a little better on price and would have covered all the same items. Was your Edge a certified one? Also check out this website http://www.lombardfordwarrantys.com/ and see how much a Ford ESP will be for you. Peace of mind is a big thing on a new purchase so getting a warranty is up to you. Congrats on the new ride and enjoy!
  5. Black boxes have been installed for years. Yes with On-Star they cab disable your vehicle if it has been reported stolen and is currently being driven. They will wait for law enforcement to get behind the vehicle and disable it. It is also used for data involving fatal collisons where trained law enforcement can retrieve the data to assist them in the investigation. And of course the dealer will look at data to see if there has been some type of ongoing problem.
  6. I don't mind it is missing from the home screen, just wish they would change the gray number on the black backdrop to white on the dash. I updated and found it is alot faster and the voice so far appears to be more responsive. No more "Call home" and SYNC saying "Calling Paul on cell"...... What!
  7. The NAV can not be unlocked as of yet. I have heard there might be an option later but no idea when. From what i have read it is a software upgrade. Also you will need a NAV antenna which I believe is mounted near the rear view mirror from the factory. The DVD option, I have no idea have difficult that would be. I think you could purchase the headrest's and have then installed. Sorry but I just got my 2011 about a month ago and I am still getting used to it.
  8. Congrats. Still have the F-150 if I ever need a truck but I can't lie, drive the Edge every chance I get :hyper:
  9. Hello all. We all picked a white AWD about three weeks ago and love it. What a ride! Very comfortable and quicker than I expected. Still need to do the MFT update so I'll see how that goes. Thanks for putting this forum together. Great info here.
