A lot of people see that "break in improvement" around 5k miles. Good luck

Thanks I appreciate the response!

Hey guys,
For the past few years I have been looking every few months for aftermarket headlamp for my 09 edge I was really happy to finally find that some are being made. I picked up the set of them on ebay a few weeks ago for $239 US here are a few pictures of them installed. I am using HID bulbs and ballast despite the sticker on the headlights that said not to. I just wanted to share my pictures.
how hard was it to take off the bumper and wire the halos?
-
there are also black housing for those interested with darker color edges....I plan on getting a pair of these soon...just kind of timid to take off the bumper....
-
good job! looks great

This makes me not want to get HIDs for my Edge now....
I still suggest getting them....I no longer have the problems in my 08 so idk what was happening before but now I'm all good and I love them...so much better than halogen!
-
Nice job. It's all really come together!
Thanks!

just bought the glossifier from dipyourcar.com....should get it in the next week then will hopefully apply 1-2 more coats of black and a couple of the gloss. Will post updates
-
I got mine from xtremehids.com....I recommend them due to inexpensive but good quality. My friend also has them in his projectors in his eclipse and loves them as well.
-
Okay sounds like too much of a risk unless I have an extra pair laying around...Thanks
-
Looks good!
Thanks! Did you end up getting yours done?
-
Done!!!!! Thank god ha I got the grille done and fog light bezels also. Looks great IMO and just will need a little touching up before winter when I redo the wheels as well. But for now, I'm very happy. The hardest part was the tedious taping everything off....but other than that wasn't too bad! Will post better pics once I take the tape off the emblems and it dries a little more but for now....
Still debating on whether or not to get the glossifier to redo everything....let me know what you guys think!
-
okay thanks. I'm sure I can find something laying around to throw back there
-
Okay. Did you put anything behind the between the grille and the engine bay to protect from overspray? (Through the bars of the grille)
-
I know this is last minute but I'm hoping to do my grille in plasti-dip tmrw morning/afternoon and have a quick question....will it be that tough to do if I just tape everything off? I really don't feel like taking the grille off....thx
-
Painting them to match the white of the edge would probably look pretty sick too....
-
I'm usually a fan of all black but I have to go with the original color you posted. I have when black wheels have a big silver lip in it....just ruins it for me. But hope you're happy with whatever choice you make, I bet it will look good no matter what.

Since the SE does not come with the wire harness and plug to power the vertical parking lights (you call fog lights), you would have to cut and splice into a circuit in your Edge. Not sure which ones to power off of. I offer a plug and play vertical LED running light that looks exactly like the stock Ford light except that instead of having the wimpy LED light that comes with the stock lamp, mine is a super bright 8 LED daytime running light. My company is DAYTIME BrightLites and you can visit my website by clicking on my banner add below.
Ever think of contacting Ford and seeing if they would use your design to just use as the stock LEDs???

I purchased a new 2012 Ford Edge in early April. The fuel gage is really innacurate. It warns you that you are almost out of fuel even though
the tank still has 6 gallons in it. I do not expect a fuel gage to be precise, just close. The gallons used feature matches up with the amount of gas you can put in the tank but the gage and warning system are only about 65% correct.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Yeah I have had similar problems with my fuel gauge....the needle is accurate but the digital readings are off by a lot...after the reserve fuel warning comes on around 50 miles to E, it then drops about 5 miles to E every mile...annoying when having to risk it! Also, when I fill up it says I get 20.1 mpg and will get 380 miles out of the tank but I only average 19 mpg and get about 280 miles from a tank. I asked Ford about it and they said that the sensors in the tank tend to do that and to not even pay attention to the digital readings, pay attention to the needle and I'll be fine.

I think someone asked this before but someone stated that the wiring isn't available to do this without splicing some wires....I'm not completely sure so good luck with it

I'm about to use plastidip on my grille. I just did my wheels with it last week and it was soooo easy. Hope the grille is the same way. good luck with yours

any pics of the sub?

Has anyone done this? I'm looking to replace the headlight assemblies in my 08 and I've heard that the bumper has to come off and that seems kinda risky....plus do you need special tools or normal stuff you should have? Any help with this is appreciated. Thanks

yeah I mean even purchasing it somewhere else online and shipping to montreal would still probably be cheaper than that...
