  1. Not sure how you managed to get ambient lighting in an SEL. It is not an option (from the factory) in the SEL model. We just got our 2013 SEL V6 and we placed a factory order, Ambient Lighting was not an option to include on the SEL list. Wish we had it so I could entertain the kids...
  2. Rear headrests do not tilt back and forth on the 13's. We removed the rear headrests on both sides and then flipped down the center with the center rest to sit between both kids (center, rear rest can't be removed and is stationary).
  3. I'm a fan of as little badging as possible. Just my opinion... so I say no.
  4. Never mind. I searched online and I was finding various posts that you couldn't play the audio through the stereo and my blood pressure was starting to raise... Found a Flex forum stating there should be Media button and then a Rear DVD button so I went out to take a look. Couldn't find any of these buttons in the Entertainment section of MFT but started playing with the radio to see if there was a frequency. Had a DVD playing and started scanning stations. Finally came a frequency that played the audio from the DVD. Happy! Only thing I'm left wondering is that since this is an FM frequency, if we take a road trip and go out of this frequency's range or an area that has music playing on this frequency, we'll have to find a new frequency to play the audio through, correct? Will there always be an open audio frequency no matter where we travel?
  5. We've been trying to figure out how to play the audio through the stereo and we can't figure it out. We were under the assumption this is possible and I don't want my kids wearing the headphones for audio. My kids are 5 and 2 and their heads are small. The large headphones do not stay on their heads and plus I don't want them in control of the volume... Putting a 2 year old in charge of volume... potential for blown eardrums. If I can't control audio through the stereo for these factory installed options, I'll be pissed. My wife is already upset that she can't figure it out. I hope there is good news out there... Thanks! Mark
  6. As long as both sets of tires have TPMS mounted inside, all you need to do when you switch out the wheels is sync the sensors to the car. Just need to get the car to recognize the new sensors.
  7. Great Price! Best of luck with it. My wife is enjoying hers. Mark
  8. Thanks man. Most of the time, I'm entertained by your posts. Appreciate the help with this. Worked just like it does when I use my soapy water solution for clear bra film or window tint but if you tell me the shampoo evaporates compared to dish detergent, I'll take your word for it. Mark
  9. Did this today. Prepped by clay baring first then i gave a couple good scrubs with alcohol. Used shampoo like dingo recommended and completely soaked the area with the soapy solution, peeled the backer and placed the protector on the bumper. I was able to slide it exactly where it needed to go and then used a squeegee to push out all the water. Looks great and wife likes it too. I didn't even notice that the tiny pattern is actually the word "EDGE" over and over again. I'm happy with it and not a bubble anywhere.
  10. If it,s not too much trouble, can I ask if someone can take a picture of the 2 cup holder mats? We picked up our edge last week and it looks like the 2 cup holders differ in size. I found one rubber cup holder insert floating in the center console for the larger holder but I didn't find another. I just thought since the 2nd holder is smaller, it didn't require a rubber insert. After reading this, I'm thinking we're missing one. Thanks for any help! Mark
  11. Cool, thanks so much for the advice Rich! Next time I'll just do 2 coats of 845 and be done with it. Mark
  12. Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a shot this weekend and let you know how I make out with your solution
  13. Any specific type/brand, or can I use my kid's strawberry scented princess shampoo?
  14. Yeah it is thin but it will provide some protection. It's the wife's car and I'm not too concerned with heavy items because I lift those types of things. She's just doing groceries and the kid's stuff so I'm not that concerned with that tiny edge either. Don't have dogs to jump in and out of the trunk area. Baby shampoo... Huh. Never heard of that. I've got some kids shampoo but not a Johnson and Johnson no tear shampoo. I've applied xpel clear film on some if my other cars and I've always used diluted soapy water to get it situated and then started squeegeeing. May just stick with that mixture to get this bumper protector on.
  15. Hi all, Just received this part and it's pretty thin. Instructions just say apply it like a sticker and then squeeze out trapped air bubbles from underneath. I'm thinking this won't produce a nice result and I'll have a lot of ugly trapped air underneath. Has anyone done this and what was your process? I'm thinking I should apply like window tint and use a soapy water solution, get it exactly where it needs to be and then squeeze out the water from underneath. Hoepfully someone has installed this and can provide a little help. Thanks! Mark
  16. Cool thanks Rich. I was reading a lot of posts from people on AG where they were stating that if you used certain things on top, it could combine with the chemicals in Collinite and essentially dissolve it (a simple way to understand it but I'm sure it's much more complicated than that). They were saying that you would only want to use a synthetic wax spray and there were only a few to use which wouldn't break down the Collinite. If you're confident I didn't break it down, then that is all I need and can feel good about the wife driving through the storm today and tonight! Mark
  17. I really like those wheels too. Could be for 2 reasons they mention they don't fit: 1. Safe offset range for 2011 - 2013 Edge is 34 to 42. These wheels are 45 so they aren't in the acceptable range. 2. Hub bore size. Not sure what the Ace wheels bore size is because it isn't mentioned in the auction but if it is smaller than the Edge 63.36mm size, then this could be a reason as well. Mark
  18. I gotcha, I had researched for months, driven multiple cars and gone back to the same dealerships multiple times. My wife wanted it done and just wanted her new car. Ultimately I may have been able to get a better rate if I had my bank quote me out for a loan but I was happy with the 2.49% (credit score of 825) I was given at the dealership and the final payment I ended up with. At that point in time, possibly saving $900 wasn't worth the extra time to me and my family. I'll be throwing extra money into my payment each month and pay it off early to offset some of the difference. In the end, it is up to each individual to go the distances they are willing to in order feel comfortable with their payment.
  19. I was recently in your position and I chose to let go of the extra $1000 in incentives in order to get the lower interest rate. I was offered 4. something if I went with Ford to get the extra $1000 off and then 2.49% if I went with B of A and let the $1000 go. Sure I could have refinanced but I wanted to be done with it and didn't want to have to take out another loan, close this one and just require more time. I probably would have been charged more document fees to get a new loan so how much would I have saved in the long run? I just figured it wouldn't be worth the inconvenience. Your prices seem pretty good which appear to be with all incentives. You'll have to add in sales tax, document fees, tire tax etc to come up with your final price but you seem to be in pretty good shape with the price. Good luck. Mark
  20. I wasn't too far away from Clifton. My brother, mother and father worked at the Clifton Home Depot for years. My brothers car was stolen from that parking lot! Rich, I'm nervous I negated all my hard work by putting that Dupont wax over top of the Collinite. Do you think I stripped off all the Collinite and should I put another coat of Collinite on it or just let it be? I've attached a photo of the stuff I used on top. I put a drop of water on the front hood and the drop beads in tight clump and then gravity takes over and the entire drop slowly moves down the hood leaving no water trail behind. I'm not sure if I can attribute the beading to the complete protection package including Collinite or just the top coat of Dupont wax if I stripped off the Collinite.
  21. Noticed that too. Looks like they have an amber side marker in the fender since the amber signal isn't in the headlight housing.
  22. Awww crap, I topped it with a Dupont Teflon wax with carnuba. Wish you chimed in sooner Oh well, It's still protected and at least has something on it compared to how we got it from the dealership. I'll know for next time when I go through the process again in the Spring. Mark
  23. Congrats and as said before, thanks for your service which allows us to live our lives back home!!! We just picked ours up this past weekend after placing our order. We were told 8-12 weeks to receive but it came in within 7 weeks. The holidays were mixed in there as well so I think you'll get yours sooner than what they indicated to you. Just letting you know so you can be prepared. We weren't ready when it came in since we thought we had more time to sell our current car. Best of luck and stay safe! Mark
  24. Oh, gotcha. My wife's current car is a Saturn Vue Redline which was the first SUV we have had. It is factory lowered and considerably shorter than the Edge. Always just stood on my tippy toes and I could reach to the center from each side of the truck. Tried that with the Edge and no go. My wife has a folding step stool that she uses to reach stuff in her clothes closet. Just grabbed that and I could reach all points of the roof no problem. Hers is just a one step but you can buy a folding 2 or 3 step in Home Depot, Lowes, Target etc. Something like this and it is only $13.00 for a 2 step. You'll find that you will use this all around your house, not just in the garage: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202015348/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=step+stool&storeId=10051#.URFBCOihDKg Mark
  25. Thanks! Just not sure what you mean by managing the roof? How have I prepped and protected the BAMR? If so, I cleaned the outside, used Collinite 845 on it, let it cure for 24 hours and they waxed it last night. Hopefully that will keep hard water spots off it it for a while. Let me know if I misunderstood the question. Mark
