  1. I wanna try this so bad, but I scarred myself when I tried this on a pair of expensive aftermarket Explorer taillights I had, broke the taillight and couldnt order just one side! I might have to try it though, as I HATE the chrome!
  2. Located in Monroe, MI. About 10 minutes from the Toledo, Ohio border. All fluids are clean, oil is synthetic, runs and drives perfectly! Got tons of compliments today when I was at the GMC dealer that had the LS I was looking at.
  3. Posting my Edge for sale, bought it late last year just to get me through the Winter, and its done a hell of a job doing that. Im a V8 guy, so im selling it to get back into a V8 car/truck. This is the easiest way to post it, since this ad is my detailed listing with tons of pictures: http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/4400492633.html Or search the "Detroit Metro" craigslist for "2009 Ford Edge Limited AWD" in Monroe. Only "problem" I know of, is when you hit Satellite on the radio, it just says "Sat Fault." New battery, wiper arms, wiper blades, and a 55w HID headlight kid. Fog light bezels were "PlastiDipped" black, as the stock plastic chrome was trashed from driving. Asking what I owe- $15,900. Would like to sell ASAP, as a local dealer just got an LS I would like to get, but cant get approved until this Edge is sold. I live a mile away from my bank, so it will be quick and easy to get the lien release for the title.
  4. No, I definitely wouldnt ever setup an auto-pay with them; my uncles been around the block with them. He cancelled after his "trial" and discounted prices ended, because the price was outrageous, and then he ended up getting it back at like $4-6 a month or something like that. This was a couple years back, so im not sure how the pricing is now, but I wouldnt ever pay much more than $6-10 a month for it.
  5. Thanks for the reply, but it was just a bad/cheap relay. Used my (new) old Morrimoto relays from an old TRS wire harness I had laying around and havent had a problem since! No noise either.
  6. The antenna "looks" fine, dont know how I would diagnose it. Ill probably pull the rear panel tomorrow and check the module to make sure all the connections are tight. I didnt much care for Sirius, BUT there were a few channels I liked, so if I get a free trial, id give it another shot.
  7. I just got an offer for a few free months of Sirius XM radio, and was going to activate it and use it in my Edge, but when I called, and pressed "Aux" to get to Sirius and goto channel 0 to get the ID, but when I press Aux and goto Sat 1 (or 2/3) it says "Sat Fault" and kicks me back to FM. When I was installing my subs, I saw the satellite module in the back, and everything was connected. Kind of frustrating, and I don't have a warranty, so if I had to goto the dealer, it'l cost me. Its not a big deal, but just another issue to add to the list ive had with this car! Could there be a fuse blown or something? What else can I look for or try?
  8. Well, so far so good. I found an old Morrimoto Harness from a retrofit that I started years ago and never finished, used the (Might I say very good looking!) relay from that harness, and have absolutely no noise, and left them on for roughly 10 minutes with no problems. (They were only on for a couple minutes at the most when I noticed the drivers side went out and relay started buzzing) The relay even feels super cheap and about half the weight of the Morrimoto one.
  9. Got my kit from DDM today, installed it, kept blowing fuses as soon as I woukd turn the headlights on, so I finally disected the harness and they had everything connected ass backwards, so I rewired it all, and they work now, but I noticed after being in the driveway with them on, drivers side bulb shut off. Turned the switch off and back on and it was going again, however theres a nasty buzzing coming from the relay. This was when the car was running also. Did not hear this buzzing when the car was shut off. (And no, this isn't the ballasts humming, this is the relay) Kind of nervous now, I have a 35 mile trip home from work at night and I already have to get ready to go in.
  10. Thanks for the response, a couple hours after posting (I was at work, so only getting to look online in short bursts) but I found that Ford Parts website. Never heard of it before, but quickly found both arms reasonably priced, and ordered them! Hoping to get them early this week, as we have another 3-6" of snow and then tons of rain coming.
  11. Thanks for the info, I went with a 55w 6000k kit with a harness. I've only recently bought newer cars like this, so this "pulsed" electronic systems and whatnot are foreign to me, all my first vehicles were straight power and heavier gauge wiring so there was no error eliminators, canbus, etc lol.
  12. Thinking the previous owner was one of those people who lifted the wiper arms up everynight during the Winter. Ive had 3 sets of wipers on (All premium blades, no el cheapo) in the few months ive owned it and they all dont get the whole path theyre supposed to. The passenger side wiper actually flutters quite a bit when im going 50+ MPH. Blades have all been correct size, tried regular blades, frameless and hybrid style, all the same result. I tried rockauto but they onky seem to list blades, washer pumps and motors for the wipers.
  13. (If it matters, ill be going with a DDM Tuning kit, since ive had roughly 4-5 kits from them problem free.)
  14. Yet another HID thread, I know right? Cant find a direct answer in any of the threads I searched through, and ive been reading for almost an hour. I have a 2009 Edge. 1. Can these housings handle a 55w kit? I have a 50~ mile trip home from work everynight, dark highway and I need some more light. (I know with any vehicle, a wire harness is needed for a 55w kit) 2. If I go with a 35w kit, do I need a harness? 3. What do I need for fog light installs? (35w definitely, since its a small housing.) Ive read numerous bulb types and whatnot, so I am confused. Again, this is for a 2009 Edge, no projectors or anything, all stock. Sylvania light guide shows me H11 for both headlight and foglight applications. Can someone verify the foglight?
  15. Drove home the other day, didn't properly lock the gas cap back on, caused my Fuel Cap light to come on. Opened the gas door and it had completely fallen out of the hole, so I put it back on and made sure it clicked. I've since driven 100+ miles and filled up completely. Still on. Do I have to manually reset this light?
  16. Dealer threw some of their Ford beam blades on it when I bought it, but they sucked. Streaked bad, very noisy, etc. Bought these new(er?) "Hybrid" ones from Rain-X, they SUCK ASS! The passenger side doesnt hit the whole window, its like the arm is worn out. I would like to believe that its from these hybrid blades being not as tall as other blades? They build up ice SO BAD and miss the whole windshield when its below freezing and I havent had a chance to have the defroster on high while not moving for a half hour! Im thinking the Rain-X lattitude beam blades? Advance has them for $20 and $14 right now (26"/20"). Any other suggestions? I hate spending money blind like I did on these hybrid blades, never seen em, bought em, hated em!
  17. Plus I hate the gas mileage on this thing. My 2013 Charger with the 5.7 Hemi blew this thing away gas wise. (And speed wise LOL). I love the Edge but I'm getting ready to turn the GFs leased vehicle in, and get me an F250, and she was gonna take the edge but I really don't want to put her in it knowing about all these possible huge issues.
  18. Was looking for a 2nd vehicle (One for me, one for GF), and saw my 2009 AWD Limited Edge at the dealership. Fell in love, it has nice black 20" Forte rims and it's AWD which is what I wanted, due to my long highway travel to work and our nasty winters. Noticed a small black stain on my driveway where I park, checked all fluids, nothing is low, or black for that matter. What could this be? It's been dripping for quite some time now, but very slowly, like a couple drips per overnight park it looks like. I'm also having a "grinding" issue with the brakes, all pass appear to be good, but I have quite a nasty grind when I first stop after sitting overnight, but worse than the occasional surface rust clearing off like I see on a lot of cars. I'm reading tons of EXPENSIVE problems with the brake boosters and master cylinders on this vehicle, which scares me to death. We just bought a house so I'm a bit tapped out for the time being and don't want some thousands of dollars in repairs. Thinking about trading this thing in already! What could that black drip be from? It's an AWD 2009 if I haven't already mentioned that. Thanks!
  19. My 2009 has Sync w/6 disc changer and factory sub. I don't want to keep any of that, just want to know what wire harness. I will be doing a double din, speakers eventually and my own set of 12's in back. Crutchfield is no help, says there's no harnesses.
  20. Bought a limited 2009 Edge today, has the 6 disc headunit with sync and the sub. Was browsing Crutchfield and they said there are no harnesses for an aftermarket headunit. Looked on Sonix and found them at upwards of $200 with a box that had what looked to be a screen, what the hell is the deal? I want to throw in an AppRadio 3, but I am not paying $200 for a wire harness, ill make my own! Lol I am guessing it has something todo with retaining Sync which is garbage I dont need. The AR3 does bluetooth audio which is all I need. (So does sync, I know, but I want rear view cam, video abilities etc) Thanks in advance!
