  1. Received these today. An excellent option for installation on the OEM rails. They are very strong and fit well on the rails. They provide a nice, flat, 53" wide surface for loading plywood or other large panels.
  2. Get some 00 steel wool, spray detail wax (I like Turtle Wax ICE), and a microfiber cloth. Spritz a few squirts of the detail wax onto 1/2 of a 00 steel wool pad. Go over the entire wheel lightly with the steel wool and detail wax. Wipe off with the microfiber towel. No more than 5 minutes per wheel should be necessary.
  3. I believe they are different. Check www.rockauto.com to see if the part numbers are different for a 2007 vs. a 2011.
  4. Good report. So your overall MPG with the Ecoboost is 25.8, with a good mix of highway driving. At $3.50/gallon, 15,000 miles per year, your fuel cost would be $2,035/year. If my average with the 3.5 V6 is 22.8 MPG, then my fuel cost would be $2,303/year. The difference is $268/year. If the Ecoboost option is $1,000, then it would have a 3.7 year payoff.
  5. If your Edge is black, you may want to try Turtle Wax Black Box. I did our 2006 Mustang GT Convertible with it yesterday, it is incredible. Check this YouTube video, you can see the reflection of rain drops on the hood from an adjacent roof overhang. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPEOf7L0QYk&feature=youtu.be You can see the reflection of our Edge wheel on the side panel of the Mustang. I've never used a wax that made the paint shine like this stuff does.
  6. Just installed these. You don't need to remove the middle snap down nylon bracket, the one in the rail kit is identical to the one mounted at the factory. You only need to remove the front and rear nylon brackets. Easy job, less than an hour.
  7. So after ~500 miles I can say I really enjoy the new Edge. It is much quieter than the Audi, more powerful, and smoother overall. No issues at all with connectivity and audio files with my iPhone 4s. I also like the controls and MFT much better than what was in the Audi. But there is a learning curve on appropriate voice commands. I haven't had the Edge up to 100 MPH yet, so I can't comment at this point on its high speed stability. I can say the Audi was very stable at that speed. Next step is to black chrome the grille and Ford ovals with Dupli-Color Shadow. Or I'll leave it as is, might not be worth it to remove the bumper and headlamps to tackle this.
  8. I'm thinking of doing this to my 2013 instead of the Plasti dip option Any experience or pictures from the members here?
  9. That latch costs less than $1 to produce in the annual quantities required by Ford. It broke because it has a sharp internal corner that concentrates stress, overstressing the material capabilities. I'll post later a procedure to prevent this from happening to your vehicle, using a hot finish nail and a pair of pliers.
  10. Does anyone have an opinion on aftermarket cross bars that clamp on to the OEM rails? Multiple eBay sellers offer these in various widths. Here is one example: http://m.ebay.com/itm/231046592068?nav=SEARCH

  12. I was finally able to add the vehicle to the Sync account, it confirmed that the software was up to date with Gen2 - V3.6.2
  13. Thanks for the offer on the Sync check, here's my VIN: 2FMDK3JC6DBE31674 Also, check the attached. Note that the date code on this shows the day/month/year. So this image shows my build date as 7 November 2013, just before the 2014 production start date of 18 November 2013.
  14. Build date is November 7, 2013. Must be one of the last 2013's built. Do I need to update Sync?
  15. Just took delivery last night. Looked at it for the first time in daylight.
