  1. Kust got this from Lee Valley Tools ... Cargo Liner ----> http://www.leevalley.com/garden/page.aspx?...&cat=2,2180 Not bad for $29.50 CDN
  2. We compared replacement parts from his suplier. Ford was cheaper. BTW ... this is in Canada ... things tend to cost more here ... NAFTA has no tarrifs if country of origin is in North America, hence to lower prices OP is here in Toronto ...
  3. Look at the sync menu to train it to your voice. It asks you a series of commands in which you reply to. It learns your voice and you can store it. Look in the manual. For those that have poor mileage ... look at the gas you are using. If it has ethanol blended into it ... you WILL have 10 to 15% poorer mileage.
  4. Friend owns an Independant Porsche garage here in Toronto and has access to parts from all over. Ford came out cheaper. (My other car is a Porsche 951). The tranny is the same as GM ... they went together on the design etc.
  5. 08 Edge Limited has the headlights come on when the wipers have been turned on for about 5 minutes. Wipers do change slightly. DRL is standard feature in canada. The light output seems a bit reduced. DRL is a feature the dealer has to program.
  6. "Car" plates are correct for the edge. Commercial plates are moreso for larger vehicles such as pick-ups used for commercial purposes. We have a very large fleet in Ontario and the work vans which carry ladders (service & construction) have commercial plates. All the passanger vans and such have car plates on them. Mine has car plates on ... legal.
  7. Edge is larger than CX-7. The maintenance costs and repairs will be cheaper with the Edge. I looked at both as well as the CX-9 and chose the Edge. It uses regular gas and petro Canada does not use Ethanol which robs about 10% in fuel economy. You need to go with your gut feeling. Step away from the search and give it a rest for about a month. Then go back and re examine the vehicles.
  8. All the above ... plus mine with the grey painted rims mades my creme brule look mean. Almost like a tough futuristic moon buggy. I get 26 mpg Canadian gallon with less than 1200 kilometers on the clock. Uses regular gas as well. Like the ride ... stares ... handling, the heated seats ... storage albit small under the rear cover ... bulbs easy to change ... room under the hood ... and the tough stance. It could of used more covers over the seat brackets ... but I paid $20,000 LESS than others did for their rides! Still learning more about what this truck does and has ... including speed sensitive wipers.
  9. Called her today and ordered one .... she needs to add more info here on contacts. She does ship to Canada via USPS which is the prefered method ... no broker fees!!!!
  10. Got mine from White Oak through Wayne Morris. There are no incentives as the Edge is a good seller!!! I went to 5 dealers and they all came out the same price (due to my x-plan). The only deals were on the 07's and you had to take bank financing (9%) .... ouch. If they drop the price or add an incentive ... the 0% turns into 3+% ... so there are no real savings. Wayne was the only one who offered sales service ... all others were not that interested in selling me an Edge ... go figure. I met wayne at the Auto Show and he was the only one that was helpfull. YMMV
  11. If you want better milege & performance ... do not use gas with Ethenol in it .... Most brands add anywhere from 5 to 10% Ethanol which reduces both your milege & power. It's not as "volatile" as pure gasoline and you will lose about 5 to 10% on milege.
  12. Was looking at the aftermarket ones that were discussed. I have a 100# Golden Retriver who likes to launch himself .... both in and out .... Don't like Evil-Bay .....
  13. Is this product still available? I just got my 2008 and am looking at getting said cover ... I am in Canada, so hopefully they will ship here via USPS (cheapest way). Thanks, Jaak
  14. Make sure canada is on your shipping list. USPS or Greyhound are the cheapest to ship here ... no broker fees to talk about!!!
  15. Got the 5 year 100,000 Km when I bought the Edge ... learned from my Land Rover Disco ... $$$$$
  16. The more I look at it ... the better she looks!!!
  17. Plenty of workout this weekend!!! The unit is good ... I have to think different as my last ride was a LandRover Discovery and I liked to drive over snowbanks. Just need to do a slight attitude adjustment.
  18. In Canada ... all 08 come with sync ...My Limited AWD w/Nav works great. Up here it's marketed with sync in all units.
  19. Well ... my invoice says it's a truck ... extended Ford Factory warrenty says it's a truck ... so ... ... think they call it a CUV so it's not as hard to take .....
  20. Thanks ... it does look nice. Unfortunatly we are in the middle of a huge blizzard and everything is getting snowed in. Wanted to spend some time looking the Edge over ... too busy clearing snow.
  21. Got my 2008 Edge Limited AWD with Vista roof, navigation, 18" painted wheels, Tow Package in Creme Brule with Camel interior. This is replacing my 2003 Land Rover Disco SE-7 premium gas pig!!! Here in Toronto, Canada it was costing me $500 to $700 a month in Premium gas to go back and forth to work around 90 kilometers a day (55 miles or so). I have had my eye on this truck for over a half year and was one of several I was looking at. From the Buick Enclave to the Mazda CX-9. Then lo and behold Ford had offered us the X-plan as or rather large firm (cable tv co) buys nothing but fords. Meet a salesman at the Toronto Auto Show who was a salesman ... but one who told the strait line and gave realistic expectations as to price as well as wholesale on trade-ins. I was treated fairly and with respect... so I went to him and he found one decked out as I wanted. Although the Deep Ink Blue was my first choice in colour, the Creme Brule was the only one available ... so I took it. I had seen a 2007 SEL in Creme brule one night which caught my eye ... so this colour is OK.
