  1. same issue here. I believe the unit is dead as for CD's. At least there is bluetooth
  2. Still looking for an app that samirmta used...
  3. When I hit the CD button on the player (Not Navi) it displays CD error. It will not eject CD's, or accept them. I figure the deck is done or jammed? Anyone else had this issue?
  4. You need to get a scanner and read the abs/traction control codes to give you an idea of what may be happening.
  5. Please elaborate. Is your A/C becoming warm, or the warm defrost being too cold?
  6. I am guessing it just the cover for the mirror harness. The mirror before build date Nov 29/2009 contains a microphone for sync/bluetooth. The rest of the wires are for the compass and auto dimming feature
  7. If you have to tow package, you have two outputs to the fans. I have looked into the service manual and cannot find anything regarding the tow package fans. So, if don't have the tow package and one fan is not working, then you have a bad fan most likely.
  8. Have the fuel at 3/4 of a tank or less. Remove the rear seat and access cover. You need a special wrench or something to remove the lock nut on the fuel pump module. Lift out carefully and remove the fuel jumper tube on the inside.(AWD models) Then voila. So pretty easy if you have the right tools.
  9. Yeah, got one off ebay. First one didn't work, so sending it back. Got a 09-10 edge factory service manual. I prefer them, because they give you proper DTC trees.
  10. Just got the factory service manual for 09-10, which is basically the same as an 07-08. Works great. Lots of good info. http://www.ebay.com/itm/181544453007
  11. It's not rocket science. Oil is oil. It has to be changed at some point, it can only absorb so many contaminates before the lubricity factor is null. You can easily suck it out with a 20$ oil pump. Most rear differentials don't have drains, does that mean you wouldn't change it if the dealer said you didn't have to? Just use some common sense!
  12. Still looking for a factory service manual for the edge. Bought one off ebay, but it only includes the OBD diagnostics for a 2007 edge, and not the workshop manual. I will be returning it. Downloaded a torrent for 2007-8 ford manuals, and same thing. Does anyone have a copy or info on getting one? Thanks
  13. Hi, I just bought a used edge. 2008 Limited, AWD I am a mechanic. I took the word of the dealer that they did the used car inspection, as it claimed. But when I brought it home and had a look over it, I found the PTU leaking fairly well. It was mostly ATF, but still wet all the way around, which suggested all seals. The Trans fluid was bang on the mark, same with the PTU. I called the sales person I had been dealing with, they said no problem. The next week I brought it in and had them look at it. They will be replace both the transaxle/ptu thru-shaft seals, and the output seal. I will update you guys in a while to see if it finally fixes it. From what I understand, no one replaces their PTU oil, so it gums up, clogs the breather, pukes out the seals, then fries the gears. So all who complain that they should file a class action lawsuit, get your S**T together and check your fluids.
  14. If you have time on your hands, and the ability to have the vehicle down for a while. I would take it all apart. Go to a local bearing place. Find the bearings. Replace them. As long as the thrust washers and gears show no sign of wear, then you should be good. I would put it together dry with some gear paint "blueing" and move the gears, see how they mesh. Then go from there. but you do have to know how gears should run...not too far in the heel or toe of the gears.
  15. I am curious what app/phone you are using? Everyone can get a bluetooth OBD connector. It is all about how you use it.
  16. I am not a ford guy. But, have you tried to wiggle the shift knob then try driving? Possibly a park/drive switch that may be the cause?
