  1. They're definitely around, I think the 706 and 7706 were just released mid-2019. Their even newer models aren't shallow mount I don't think, so wouldn't fit in our dash. The street price on the 706 runs about $399, I've seen the 7706 for $299. $500 for sync3 is certainly reasonable. Most of the kits that looked legit that I saw were in the $1500 range.
  2. Sync3 leaves me with dsr1 to interface with the aftermarket amps, and I'm over that hardware too. It's a product that looks amazing on paper but never quite gets there imo in practical use. Part of that could be the fault of having to integrate with the sync2, but gonna go a different direction regardless. Agreed the oem HU always looks best for fit & finish but for the half the price of a sync3 swap you can get some pretty high end hardware. Probably gonna give this guy a go and see how the RR2 handles factory function integration: https://www.kenwood.com/usa/car/excelon/dmx706s/
  3. Been running the Sync2 head unit in my 2015 Edge with a Rockford Fosgate DSR1 to replace the factory amps for a couple years and have had mixed results at best. Lately the Sync2 head unit itself has begun flaking out with volume control becoming unresponsive, voice command/nav audio cutting in and and out, proximity sensor sounds glitching out, etc. At this point I'm just done with the factory head unit after trying to keep it worked into the system for this long. Doing some research, looks like the Maestro RR/RR2 is a good option to replace the head unit and retain factory functionality for on-screen controls. Anybody have any experience using one of these units? Looking at one of the shallow mount iDatalink compatible Kenwoods to go with it.
  4. used these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XQWJ35H that had the correct lug spacing and centerbore. HOWEVER, couldn't find a set that were for our lug size (14mm) Used a fresh 9/16" bit (14.2mm) in a drill press and a stepdown bit to give the enlarged hole a bit of chamfer. Bit self-centered on the existing lug hole and fit absolutely perfect. Would never know it wasn't machined for that size from the start.
  5. You should be able to redownload them from the links I posted yesterday. From there you could try to edit them back into the original post or post them again. Learned long ago, if you find something on the 'net that's useful - grab it. No guarantee it will be there the next time you go looking for it
  6. FINALLY got around to installing the H&R springs and rear swaybar. Took about 7 hours from grabbing the jack to lowering the Edge back down. Most of that time is the first front and first rear; once you do one side the opposite side is easy. Followed snmjim's install guides and helped a lot, especially with the back (they're easier than it sounds/looks once you get in there) Alignment seems unaffected, will be able to tell better tomorrow after some highway driving. few pics fresh out of the garage. Running 275/45 21's with 5mm spacers. No rubbing at all of full lock-to-lock turn (I wasn't sure that would be the case, but so far so good )
  7. If anybody else is looking for the reference from snmjim, here's a couple of Google doc links that I think should work if the forums links are down: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w_5VqTUoy3GNuYwlo5-mlileZAz7givd/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OfMmqazx_RG5AmuRgxwU2X2ruubV4GA3/view
  8. i've bought wheels from these guys with no problems: https://detroitwheelandtire.com/ they have a huge selection of OEM wheels in various finishes
  9. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19493-completed-custom-subwooferampspeaker-install-with-pics-and-diagrams-for-2015-sport-lots-of-pics/ amp behind left rear quarter panel my guess is the 2015 and 2018 should be real close to the same as far as wiring color, speaker layout, etc. I have a DSR1 and JL XD600/6v2 along with a pile of other stuff getting ready to go in soon.
  10. Not yet, but have the springs to put on. Should have just about the right look afterward (IMO). Current setup with 275/45's :
  11. True, tirerack has them listed at 37lb vs 34lb for OEM. Including the weight of the wheel, it would bump it up a few % at each corner. But like I said, there seemed to be negligible difference in overall ride. If the additional sidewall softness is offset by increased weight NVH then I guess it is what it is.
  12. Might be the Sport suspension more than the tires themselves. I went to a 275/45/21 to get some more rubber to fill the wheel well gap and noticed very little difference in ride.
  13. There's a good chance they're not in production yet, call the contact listed and you can probably get in on it. Beyond that it didn't sound like these would be a regularly stocked item once this batch goes out.
  14. Shop manual says 52lbft for the bracket bolts and 85lbft for the endlinks. Probably not the most critical torque spec on the vehicle, "tight" would probably do fine, but any shade-tree mechanic worth his salt should have a torque wrench.
  15. Just gave John my order info, sounds like there's only one to go before he gets his quota
