  1. My 2011 Ford Edge Sport's backup camera image is inverted on the infotainment screen. I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with avlis-co.com? They "supposedly" have OEM backup cameras for $149.99. https://avlis-co.com/rear-view-backup-camera-bt4z19g490b-replacement-for-2011-edge-sport-sport-utility-4-door/ Otherwise the best I can do is $309.00 from a Ford Dealer on Amazon. Any thoughts, what would you do?
  2. You don't happen to be in the Memphis or Little Rock area by chance? I won't be able to do this on my own... How can you be sure that you are receiving the most recent revision of the APIM from a eBay listing? I definitely do not want a older version of the APIM. Thanks
  3. It is called a FSA - Field Service Action. But in Ford's words "Warranty Extension" that comes under their recall programs. It does not have anything to do with safety as that would involve the NHTSA.
  4. I just purchased a 2011 Sport, not from a Ford Dealer. Ford will not honor the recall (Outstanding Field Service Actions 12M02 (APIM)) due to the age. Has anyone ever had any luck getting Ford to honor the recall past the date? I can't remember the name of the department (‭800) 392-3673‬, but was given the canned response that the recall had expired blah, blah, blah. Outstanding Field Service Actions 12M02 - SYNC WITH MYFORD MYLINCOLN TOUCH WARRANTY EXTENSION COVERING ACCESSORY PROTOCOL INTERFACE MODULE APIM Any help or your experience would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Google is your friend - Courtesy of Wikipedia: The SYNC computer, which Ford calls the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM), is housed separately from the head unit, called the Audio Control Module (ACM), and interfaces with all vehicle audio sources as well as the high-speed and medium-speed vehicle CAN-buses.[20][21] The first generation of the Ford's SYNC computer was designed in cooperation with Continental AG[22] and is built around a 400 MHz Freescale i.MX31L processor with an ARM 11 CPU core, uses 256 MB of 133 MHz Mobile DDR SDRAM from Micron and 2 GB of Samsung NAND flash memory,[23][24] runs the Windows Embedded Automotive operating system,[25] and uses speech technology by Nuance Communications. Utilizing the USB port, SYNC's Microsoft Windows Auto-based operating system can be updated to work with new personal electronic devices. A Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) BlueCore4 chip provides Bluetooth connectivity with compatible phones and devices. SYNC's major circuit board chipscost roughly US$27.80, which allows Ford to profitably sell the system at a much lower price than competitive offerings.[23]

  7. Just purchased a 2011 Ford Edge Sport. Unfortunately, due to the age of the vehicle Ford is no longer honoring the recall for the APIM. I am wanting to purchase a "new" APIM. I want the most recent revision of the APIM that Ford has released. Details of my vehicle. 2011 Sport FWD with heated seats, Sony, HD, Sirius, dual zone, ambient lighting, back up camera, and a Nav APIM. Thanks, Scott
  8. Did you ever sell this?
  9. Sorry about that, you are correct it is a 2011 Sport. I forgot about updating my profile. Thanks for the link.
  10. Hi, I am in need of the front and rear AC louver. The front one probably was broken by the previous owner hanging a cell phone off of it. The rear one also broken by previous owner as well, have no clue as to why. Can someone please tell me what part numbers I need and maybe provide a good source to get these? Thanks
  11. Is it possible to unscrew the housing, I think there are 2 screws and flip the module?
  12. Vehicle is in immaculate condition with no accidents and no "repainting".
  13. The picture displayed is just fine, it is just upside-down
  14. Hi Folks, Just purchased a 2011 Edge Sport. When the backup camera engages, the video on the screen is upside down (inverted). Every thing else is displayed correctly. Anyone have any thoughts on what is going on here and is there anything that I can do to resolve this without taking it to the Ford dealership? Thanks
