  1. Ironically my brother and I were just talking about this. He said he gets a clunk from a standing start and on turns. Of course I never heard it while I was driving. I'll send him this video so he knows exactly what to look for when he gets her on the lift.

The RDU is part of the drive train and that should be covered after the 3yr/36000 warranty expires?

    Thanks in adavnce!

If you get this, check on the date it was made - earlier batch was made with hose that resulted in a gas odor, like mine did, but JLT sent new hoses, and all is good now.

Thanks for the info! I wasn't aware of this issue. I gave my brother one a few years back. He eventually upgraded to an RXP can. When I asked him if there was a noticeable improvement that warranted the price. He said that he no longer had funky smells from the can.....

I don't think I ever noticed smells from catch can. I believe, I brought mine in late 2018 or early 2019. Definitely good to know that JLT will send out new hoses if the issue arises.

My does the same. I'd like to be able to lower all windows (as I did in my prev vehicle) as well as raise them all from the fob.

Is this mod available via Forscan?

Other mods I'm interested in - can Forscan do these:

    - Lower mirror(s) on reverse

    - DRLs on

    - Default initial audio volume - avoid blasting if volume was left high

    - Cyclops brake light flas on/off when braking

    - Interior footwell accent lights intensity Control

    - Allow sunroof to open without opening the sunshield the whole way back.

    - Turn on rear windshield wiper on reverse if fronts are on

I'll be installing a hitch - anything that needs to be done so the vehicle know's it's towing? My ther had that.

Just a few that I can think of from my prev mods on another vehicle.

    Thanks!

I'd like to know before I buy the sw and connector.

Unfortunately, I do not think you can do any of those mods in your wish list with FORScan except for tilting your mirror(s) on reverse.  I've seen a lot of different mod sites, I don't think I've ever seen any of the mods you asked about.  Not to say that they are impossible.  Perhaps they haven't been discovered yet. Please share if you do sort them out.  There are quite a few FORScan gurus and very knowledgeable members here. Hopefully they will chime in.

I believe it is more convenient for some. Maybe a bit better for the ladies so they do not have to remove the phone from a purse? I use one when riding my motorcycle, as I keep forgetting to remove it from the assessable cubby hole when I get off the bike. One day my phone will be missing when I check?.

I definitely get the convenience factor.

Use to use wireless. Comes on 2021standard. Stopped using it as long drives kills battery real fast, particularly if playing music with GPS active. Also gets confusing when wife gets in car and we need to change phone that is mirroring. So simple solution was to go backwards and just plug the phone we want to mirror to car in the USB since it needs to stay charged anyway. Wifi works great on short drives and getting in and out around town, but that is about it. Had lots of intermittent drop connections too, but that may have been improved.

That's just it, my lady loves it. Several of my coworkers love it! (We have them in a few company cars)  Unfortunately I've had more negatives that positives when using it. Like you, I've had similar experiences. I've had intermittent connectivity, phone overheating, poor battery life.

I'm definitely not against them.  In my limited experience, it just didn't work well for me when I tried. There's simply to much to keep up with technology. What's current today might be obsolete tomorrow. There's more than a few different ways to skin a cat as long as it can connect and work, that's all that matters.  Ron has good taste! The unit that he linked has a shit ton of positive reviews.  Might just be the one.

Because of my lack of confidence in the Sync3 routing and that my 5 year Sirius Traffic has expired, and I've recently been using Waze with a cable, I'm now ready to get a wireless Carplay device.

I'm looking at the OTTOCAST Wireless CarPlay Adapter 2022 which is $85 on Amazon with the $30 coupon.

Would appreciate advice on what device to get, and where to get it.

I have to ask what is the advantage of using wireless Carplay? I plug my phone in and slide it into the cubby where the USB cable is and keep it moving till, I leave my truck.

Does anyone else's edge do this? I have a 2010 Ford Edge Sport, and the car revs just fine in drive. It'll go to redline, it isnt slow, it isnt going down in mpg, but when trying to rev it in neutral, even with full throttle holding it down, the revs wont go higher than 4k. I don't know if this is just a problem with my car or if anyone else's Edge does this. If it is a problem though it would be nice to know so I can fix it before it becomes a bigger issue

I can appreciate your line of thought in regards to wanting to resolve a issue before it gets worse, has a negative impact on another part etc...

Fortunately there is nothing wrong with your edge. I can't explain the reason why your edge, my edge and every edge that I have revved in park/ neutral only goes to 4k.  Perhaps its a safety feature...

I know of a few owners with modded exhaust (myself included), and we can only hit 4k if we're not moving.  Unfortunately I do not have a technical reason why it works this way, but know that you're not alone with this!

I drove it for the first time in months to Charlotte. Front suspension is shot. Time for BC coilovers.

I came across adjustable coilovers that were designed and engineered for our edges......Preliminary research yields good reviews across a few different makes! Give her some E85 and point her in this direction:

  8. Off the top of my head, I know they have the same bolt pattern. Not sure of the offset nor hub size. More importantly 18" is the smallest wheel size for the edge. Your spare is 18" Not wanting to assume but I think 18" is the smallest wheel that you can use that will clear the brakes.   There are a few members who have both vehicles. Hopefully they will chime in with clarification.

Didn’t the 2016 Sports come with HID lamps?

Yes and No. It all depends on the options/ equipment group that your car came with.  That being said even if she does have HID you can upgrade them. I'm currently running Osram Cool Blue Intense. I purchased them a few years ago and they have even better HIDs available now!

You didn't mention which package your edge came with. You can add it to your signature.

  10. Glad to hear that the card worked out for you! Spending $60 for the clone vs $140 at the Stealership (rounding up) is definitely worth it. Spending damn $200 to update the NAV in SYNC2 not so much! You could gather all the parts apart from the USB harness from a salvage yard for a hundo or so, and upgrade  to SYNC3!
