  1. If you aren't planning on re-mounting the stock wheels for winter and keeping the TPS system working, you can use the current sensors. In order to do so you have to get bigger straps that hold the sensors around the inside of the wheel. I got my 20" straps from my Ford dealer.
  2. Trainmaster ?, well maybe a bunch of dudes pulled a train on him, and that's why he's got his panties in a bunch!
  3. Bravo!! Your right DJ, I don't know what die in his ......, but this forum is for support on these type of issues.
  4. lately I have had a burning smell a couple of times. Happened after driving for a while and then stopping for a couple of minutes with the car still running. Today there was actually smoke inside the vehicle. Got out to check to engine compartment and saw nothing wrong. Will keep an eye on things and report any further info.

And how does this relate to the Ford Edge???? I'm not knocking your opinion on a totally different topic than our vehicles, but I for one visit this site to talk about my car and relax a bit. I'm sure that some members can relate to your frustration, but lets keep things a little more on topic. Get out for a ride, enjoy your Edge, and relax.
  6. No complaints here. 6' and 185 lbs., and I'm very comfortable on long trips.
  7. Welcome to the club, you'll love the Edge. Some of us have started our mods already and we'll be able to help if at all possible. Enjoy.
  8. I got the same email, and I was also disappointed that they don't have a cold intake yet. Oh well, guess I'll wait for a different company to offer a true cold air intake.
  9. Looks great Scoop, can't wait for my turn. :hyper:
  10. Looking good Chad Can't wait to see them on some of our vehicles. :hyper:
  11. Nice work Scoop. I'll be looking for those pictures, and I'd be very interested in upgrading.
  12. A typical after market remote start unit only will run about $300 installed. An after market alarm with remote start runs about $420 installed. BTW, the under the chin thing does work, but nothing like the range I have with my alarm.
  13. I bought new sensors and straps so that I can mount the stock wheels for the winter. Here in NY, the road salt eats away the chrome. However, if you are not switching the wheels during the winter, you can buy new 20" straps from Ford and use your existing straps.
  14. O.K. Scoop, If the $50 core charge also covers the third brake light, then I'm in with a medium tint.
  15. Hey Chad. Can you please post a couple of pictures of the light tint only so that I can see for sure how it looks in various applications? Also, can you put a light tint on the front headlights? Or do you think the light output will be cut down to much? Thanks.
  16. I'm not happy at all with the braking of the Edge when I'm tooling around town in a hurry to get some were. The brakes are probably heating up and causing them to become too soft and non-responsive. If anyone has found after-market performance rotors, calipers, and pads, please let me know. Thanks.
  17. Hey Scoopo, nice work finding those sweet tail lights. I'd go for it if the price is not too crazy. I think 'll just send in my stock lights and park the car for a couple of days since I have other vehicles to drive. Keep us updated.
  18. Nice product, thanks for the link. I also emailed a request for front & back in black to match my Edge.
  19. Would you mind sharing how you changed the color of the logo? Did you install a sticker?, hand paint it?, replace the entire thing? Thanks.
  20. When I purchased my 07, I tried to get a true "factory remote start". It did not exist. I wanted the vehicle to come off the assembly line with it already installed and it was not possible. My dealer offered an add on unit which sucked! They really just sub out the work to a local alarm/stereo installer that installs the Ford add on unit. I Installed a Hornet alarm with remote start. (same company as Viper) The unit has an lcd display remote control which can do so many more things than I need, but the range is awsome. I can be 2-3 blocks away, or inside a shopping mall, and I can start the vehicle with no problem. The lcd display verifies the start cycle, gives you a digital count down on how much time is left in the cycle, you can check the interior temperature of the vehicle with the remote. You can also program automatic starting when the outside temperature falls below freezing, or a once a day schedule for a pre-set time. This feature is great if you go on vacation for a couple of weeks and you don't have to come back to a dead battery in winter. Find a qualified after-market installer with plenty of experience and you will be much happier with a high quality alarm system.
  21. I drove by the local ford dealer today and saw the 08' with the 20's on. I have an 07' with 20's, but I also dropped my edge with the spring kit. The 08' with the 20's still has the tall stance, and the wheel well space between the tire and the fender looks like the 07' stock tire gap. Not sure about that sport suspension their talking about, but I'm very happy with my results.
  22. Hey Saleen . Glad to see your still customizing your Edge. I think that exhaust will look real sick!!!! Can't wait to see the result. Hope all is well and keep on truckin.
  23. Do you have a link for that stainless exhaust? I checked Gibson's site and they don't have a listing. Thanks.
