  1. $12.50 + shipping on ebay. Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Screen-Prot...sspagenameZWDVW
  2. To tell you the truth, a daytime photo (which I happened to have on file in my computer) of my fogs or other photos of HID fogs, or other photos of stock v. HID headlights don't really show too much difference. I think that you will only see the real difference in person. That being said, I'm totally satisfied with the results that the bulb swap gave me. I've put a lot of money into my Edge and various other vehicles that I own and will always make my decision on parts or upgrades based on the best end result and not the monetary cost. Here's my 2 cents: buy a set of replacement bulbs on ebay or the local auto parts store, install them and see what you think. You'll spend a couple of bucks to see in person how they perform and if you don't like it you only spent a couple of dollars compared to a HID kit, which you could always install later. Good luck.
  3. I swapped the bulbs with MTEC MT-494 H11 12v 55W 3300K. Here's a daytime photo.
  4. I installed the yellow bulbs about 10 months ago and they work great. The yellow works well with the blue light from the headlights and helps a lot when its actually foggy out. The other benefit is that it looks great. Give it a try, you'll like it.
  5. It seems like you already know the answer. Good luck with the seal kit, nobody has had good results with just the kit.
  6. Thats fine for me as long as we get this thing back on track A.S.A.P. :hyper:
  7. Thanks gfhii for your opinion. If yours are medium and you're happy with it than I'll go medium as well. (Westchester County) Chad, I'm ready for medium when you are. Don't want to "cut the line", so let me know when. Thanks.
  8. Chad, Please post pics with the flash on the camera and without so that I can see what they look like in normal lighting. Thanks.
  9. Thanks G for your "Stand Up" decision for donate $50 towards the two next people waiting. I'm either #1 or #2 in line right now, and I appreciate that you are an honest person that admits when you do something that others probably would make excuses for. What tint did you go with? light?, medium?, dark? If you can post pictures it would help to make a decision on the darkness I want to use. Thanks.
  10. Did they replace the transfer case twice already with two failures? or did they do the gasket replacement twice with two failures? I just had my PTU replaced last week.
  11. Get comfortable with that loaner car. I just got my AWD Edge back from a 1 month lay-up at the dealer. The seal kit was on National back order and after waiting two weeks it came in and was installed. After the seal was replaced the leak continued and then the PTU was ordered. After the PTU (power take off unit) was replaced the repair was complete. I got the vehicle back on Friday and so far so good. Although I happy for now, the chance of this occurring with the new PTU lingers in the back of my mind. If I were you, I would push for the PTU to be replaced now and not go through the same as I and others on this forum have gone through. Good luck.
  12. You can easily wire in a 12v relay under the dash that would be able to handle enough amperage for all of your accessories at once. In case your not familiar with the wiring of a relay, a constant 12v battery source is on one terminal, ground on another terminal, a switching 12v source to turn on the relay (in this case you can tap into an existing 12v source that powers up with the accessory circuit in the vehicle, or hard wire a manual switch, and the last terminal is the 12v switched output from the battery source to all of your electrical components. You can wire a radar detector, satellite radio, gps, etc.. to all come on when the vehicle starts, and then shut off when the vehicle turns off.
  13. WOW, you starting posting this problem back in July on another thread and that stinks that it still persists. Those pesky intermittent problems never happen when you bring it into the dealer. It seems like a long time between happening. Did the dealer open the key/ignition housing on the steering column to see if a contact or sensor is bad? When the problem happened did all of the accessories in the car continue to work? i.e.: radio, power windows, blower, wipers.
  14. I installed my XM inno radio exactly as you did. After the wires are installed it looks seamless. Just a little bit of info: I hardwired my radar detector into the rear view mirror wire harness that had 12V. (test the wires first with a multi-meter) After the install the wires are all out of the way behind the mirror unit and you can't easily see them in the driver or passenger seat.
  15. I agree that the problem is a flash rust on the rotors. My Edge gets it sometimes, my wifes Honda gets it, and my BMW get it real fast. My BMW gets it after every rain and it looks like the car has been sitting forever. After a the first couple of braking feet, they all clean right off and back to business as usual. I'm still waiting for an after-market upgrade for the brakes. i.e.: bigger rotors and calipers. If anyone finds an after-market high performance replacement, please let me know. Thanks.
  16. Well I'm just ending my "3 week vacation from my car". My problem started just like most of the other Edges. 1) The burning smell started with the cold weather. 2) Dealer had to wait weeks for the seal kit that was on national back order. 3) Dealer installed the seal kit and it continued to leak oil. 4) Dealer had to replace the entire PTU. The total time for all of this to transpire has been three weeks. Thankfully I have a brand new 2008 Subaru loaner from them to get around. While I had the car in I took advantage of the down time for them to address the front passenger door lock that did not always work during the cold, and fix the rear spoiler gasket. They replaced the door lock unit and they ordered the replacement spoiler which should be in today. The spoiler comes unpainted, so they will have to paint it to match my vehicle. (black) I hope that there are no more issues like this to come in the future.
  17. Drop my Edge off 2 weeks ago and the dealer is still waiting for parts due to the back order problem. I've noticed several of you referring to a rental from your dealer. I'm not sure about all dealers, but my dealer gave me a free loaner until the fix is done. They gave me a 2008 Subaru Tribeca which of course is also all wheel drive. I hate the feel of the cars driving, and the layout of the cabin controls really stink, but at least I have a vehicle to use without shelling out more cash. Hope the parts come soon, I miss my Edge.
  18. When I bought my Edge through the Z Plan, I locked in the rate at the day I signed the order, not upon delivery. I'd check with the sales person again to see if you can lock the current rates.
  19. I read this thread and all of you have done a great job looking at this decision from all points. Lex; I agree with you that a little more of a liquid cash cushion helps you sleep at night easier. I choose a 36 month term instead of paying all in cash, and I put the rest into an online high yield savings account that is currently at 4.9%. Their is no minimum account balance, and I can access it anytime I want to unlike a CD account. Good luck with your decision, I know you'll love your Edge.
  20. Finally got me Edge in to the dealer this week and they said it is a transmission seal leak. The seal kit is on back order so they put me in a 2008 Subaru Tribeca until the repair is complete. Once I get the repair finalized and I get the work ticket in hand, I'll post the specific repair they did.
  21. I would also like to see some close up shots of the tips. I did a search with the part number you mentioned and it doesn't look anything like what you have. I like the slash look with the sharp bevel polished interior. Yours look like it is like that, but I can't be for sure without a close up. Thanks.
  22. Love the look. Now all you need is to drop it and your good to go. Enjoy!
