  1. On my 13 SHO I did bank 2 from below, next to the oil filter and the rear is easy enough to access behind the passenger side wheel. I understand there are different engines but relatively similar so I hope this helps!
  2. To update, close to 100K miles now, since changing the PCV at last rant all is dry. No new issues with oil in the intake.
  3. Yes had that tube cleaned, also removed the throttle body at the time for a proper clean from both sides.
  4. I did not, when i did the spark plugs at 75K it was changed, valve cover around 85K so didnt find it necessary to do. I did swap a new one last night, the old one was pretty drenched with oil.
  5. Since I still have oil in the air filter 2 months since the replacement, there may not be a difference between old and new.
  6. So. Almost 2 month update since the replacement, pulled the air filter and again it is covered in oil.. maybe not as bad as prior, it is still oiled now. So anyone have any words of wisdom? I also have a 2013 SHO with a similar issue, that of course also has a updated valcover fix available. Im hesitant on purchasing one for that vehicle seeing the fix for the edge doesnt really solve it.
  7. What are you guys using for photos? Guess photobucket doesn't show
  8. Had this happen on ours once. Also a 2011, had around 75K miles on it. Started with remote and got blue smoke for a few seconds. Unrelated, but did spark plugs and recently the valve cover update since then. Just under 90K miles now and running strong.
  9. After finding oil in the air filter of our 3.5L 2011 Edge, i purchased the updated valve cover to fix the issue. Replacement was easy, besides keeping all of the wires out of the way. This is not a How-to as FordTechMakuloco has all the information on YouTube. Simply posting some photos of the inside for those interested. I could not tell any physical difference between the 2 parts. Part number - BR3Z-6582-R
  10. A weak battery could be the problem, I'd start there if it hasn't been replaced.
  11. Edge, Taurus, Explorer and Flex are mechanically/electronically the same thing.
  12. From my own experiance with our 2011 Edge, and 2013 Taurus SHO #1 Ford is TOTALY useless in any assistance outside of warrenty, yes sure, technically it's not theirproblem. However, in my case at least, they don't care. #2 this may or may not help you. Check your battery, yes as in my case, the Edge was doing all sorts of idiotic electronic faults. HVAC, Nav, even the hazards would randomly come on. I do have an extended warrenty which has paid out over $1,200 in "system updates" to resolve these issues. Never resolved anything to be honest. Well, no one ever suggested a new battery, that being several dealerships that I took it to. One day, early this year, I found the date of manufacture sticker on the back of the battery. It was 10/11. Even though the old battery tested OK, the amount of electronics in these vehicles requires a good battery to function. Being over 5 years old, I purchased a new battery. To my surprise (not really) not a single issue, for about 6 months anyway. The newest issue I had, the SYNC system, Nav mainly, freezing up. My remedy was something I found long ago. If you chose to do this, note I will not be held responsible if you fry your car! It's not a difficult process but if you F up, you will definitely short out everything... Disconect both battery cables, put a towel over the battery, or even remove it from the vehicle completely. You'll need to connect the positive and negative cables together. Again make sure while doing this, you do NOT touch the connected cables to the positive battery terminal!!! What this does is, totaly drains any power, therefore memory from all modules. Once done, everything works flawlessly now. Sorry this is a long post, and in your case, maybe your issues go deeper than my vehicle, but I'd suggest you give it a shot. If your battery is original, your Edge being a 2013, probably is. Replace it with a new one, while doing so try the process mentioned above, before you install the new battery. Hope this is of some value to you or anyone else that may experiance issues of this nature.
  13. Needs to be polished, my SHO has the same black insides that look dull. This is basically swirles and scratches from wheels being scrubbed clean. Buy one of those small buffer balls you attach to a drill, add coupound or just polish and you can get them nice and shiny again.
  14. They won't fit. 2009 to 2014 Edge has a 5X114.3 bolt pattern. The new 2015 and up has 5X108.
